Overall I believe this was a pretty good movie. At first I had trouble believing the story line but then I reminded myself it IS 1957. As a fan of Indi (and someone who actually saw Raiders of the Lost Ark at the movie theatre) I was a bit disappointed as I felt something was missing. But as my son pointed out the theme song was only played two times in the movie! I think that was what was missing for me, the rush I got when hearing the theme song during the action. What's a hero without his theme music? But I still give it four out of five for action, special effects and finally and end to a fantastic era!

I was looking forward to seeing this movie since the first moment that I knew it existed and I expected a lot out of it. I grew up watching the first three Indiana movies, and all three are classics. The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on the other hand, had a ton of potential and a great initial idea, but ended up having none of the charm of the original Indiana trilogy. The film-makers relied too heavily on computer generated imagery, the story was too wacky and 'out there', and some of the stunts were simply too rediculous even for an adventure movie. The movie had its moments, and it was exciting and fun to watch, but as much as I tried to enjoy it, I couldn't help but think about how poorly this film compared to the three originals.

The movie was pretty lame compared to the other Indy films. The plot could have been so much better, jokes (what few that had) were weak at best. Then, the ending! PLEASE! It was ridiculous. I was very disappointed with the entire film.

i liked the movie even tho some parts are kinda cheesy. there were some predictable moments and some that were completely not what i would have expected. the characters are very likeable. i've already recommended it to everyone i know.

My wife, my daughter (15) and I all loved the film. I thought it was done perfectly in the Indiana Jones style, complete with great stunts, jokes, and lots of action. After the film, my daughter and I agreed that we'd like to get back to Disneyland and ride the Indiana Jones ride again. I will agree with another commenter that the story line was a bit out of the style; perhaps the theme would have fit other genre films better. And based on another comment, if the series is unknown to some of the younger crowd, this one may be less enjoyable. But, I would think most Indy fans will get a kick out of this one. All in all, a very enjoyable film. Well done.

This Indy film was a little out there... But since it takes place in 1957, all the things that happened in the movie flow pretty well. Not what I expected at first but it turns out to be a pretty good flick!! Lots of adventure and action. A little bit of comedy is thrown in there too. Over all a B+.

This was, generally, a great movie. There is NO WAY it will ever surpass Raiders of the Lost Ark, but what will? There was great action, really good to see everyone back again, but there were some places where it was a little corny. I think Spielberg tried to make it too "family-oriented" by adding dumb lines. Overall, would recommend.

A weak, inadequately developed plot somewhat off-set by sentimental scenes with Karen Allen (who once again steals the show) and a somewhat more nuanced, less edgy portrayal of Indiana Jones by Ford. I enjoyed the action with new types of chase scenes but still had the Indie flavor. The tir in to earlier movies was good. Coule the story line have been better developed sure but so what. For those expecting deep thought, summer action movies are not the place to go.

Good old Indy fun - not my favorite Indiana Jones, but totally enjoyable. The ending was a bit strange but the one liners and over the top actions scenes were great. Harrison Ford is still terrific.

I really enjoyed this movie for many reasons. I loved the nonstop action, I loved the references to the other Indiana Jones picutures, and I loved the way they are setting up Indiana Jones to continue through his son. I think that this movie was a great ending to the Indiana Jones series. As in the movies before, there was tons of action scenes as well as some funny parts. The plot was good until the end, which wasn't believable at all but then again, it isn't supposed to be extremely realistic. Overall, this movie was very good, especially if you were a fan of the series when it first came out.

While this film has all the usual Indiana Jones qualities, it also has more flaws. It could have been a lot worse, but it also could have been so much better. Take the scene where 'Mutt' is swinging by vines in the jungle... totally unbelievable; it would have made more sense, and been believable to the viewers, if 'Mutt' had run through the tree tops by going from branch to branch in the thick jungle growth, ala the way Indy had run from the Commies in the wherehouse earlier in the movie.... and would have led to more interesting stunts... swinging from vines was just dumb. Also, the ending did not work for me... it would have been better had the visitors just disappeared without showing their vessel... that just about ruined the whole film for me. But, if you want to see Indy, and you want to remember what it was like to see Indy the first time, go see it, just close your eyes during the final scenes... I wish I had.

I had a really good time at this movie. It is long overdue and the story should have been tighter and they should have done more on-location stunt work and less CG but overall it was great to have Indy back. Harrison Ford has still got it. They should make another ASAP.

For the love of the other three previous Indiana Jones movies, don't even bother going to see this movie. Leave it the way it ended in the 'Last Crusade.' I am a fan of the other three Indiana Jones but found myself disappointed with this film. (obviously!) It had all the nostalgia you feel when you watch the older films but the story line didn't quite fit a story expected from an Indiana Jones movie. The action was great! It was great to be watching him in action again. Take out all the alien stuff and it would have been a great movie! I suppose he'll be dealing with vampires next! : (

Well done! For those of us that have seen all 4 of the films it was great to introduce his son and Karen Allen back in the film. I liked all the action, plus the story line was great. I would recommend this film for anyone that enjoys fact action and great special effects and stunts.

I realize that Mr. Lucas didn't direct this film, so let me explain. He DID participate in the screenplay, and that is where this movie failed. The acting was fine, as was cinematography and special effects (I found them seemless), but the story was ridiculous. Where Indiana Jones movies succeeded in the past (and I'm not a huge fan, mind you), this movie fails in every way. The older generation Indy films took fantastic (although believable) premises and surrounded them with characters that made decisions that were completely acceptable, and didn't typically ask the audience to suspend belief to the point of eye-rolling. But to expect to swallow that Harrison Ford could be thrown several hundred feet (maybe thousands) encased in a refrigerator and walk away without so much as a sore shoulder, let alone every bone in his body not being reduced to rubble, is asking too much. And I won't even start in on the waterfall scene. If I see George Lucas' name attached to a film again in any capacity other than executive producer, no toilet paper for Skywalker Ranch will be bought with the proceeds of my movie ticket.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
