Story was ok. Effects were great. Chase scene was pretty great too. Here's the problem. The thrill is gone. Indiana just isn't doing for me what he did in the first movie.....hasn't since. I'm not sure if it's the movie or my inability to be suprised like I used to. Movies have done that to me. Also, the 'heir apparent' could be less obvious, but then I guess half the moviegoers wouldn't get it. What the hay......go see it.

come on...aliens??? couldnt they have thought up a more original ending? though the facts are somewhat accurate to the theories behind the crystal skulls, but still, aliens in an indie movie was not something i expected nor liked. great action scenes though and a majority of the film kept with the past styles.

Loved to see Indy again. It was a little hard to see him older, as well as Karen Allen, but I loved the movie and thought for his age he did a great job. Shia is a great addition and maybe they'll pair again soon, not wait till Indy is in a wheelchair.

Very enjoyable movie. Very good up until the end. 6 of us went to see the movie (ages ranged from 28-48). Not all action movie fans, but everyone liked it. Several us thought the ending wasn't very good though. Perhaps the ending was cut short due to time. Movie would have been better if they had fleshed out what happened with the Crystal Skulls at the end. Probably cut it short due to time. Would have given it 5 stars if not for the choppy ending.

What can I say about this film. It does deliver, lots of action, a few good one liners. But it just wasn't what i expected. I love the original 3 Indiana Jones films, and know each one by heart, so i was expecting a lot from part 4. What I got wasn't what I wanted, but it was still fun to watch. I wanted Indiana to be Indiana, I wanted him to single handedly find the treasure, kill the bad guys, and take the girl. While you got some of this, it just didn't have the same feel and fun the first 3 films delivered. But again, this is coming from a guy who loves the series, and had huge expectations which realistically could never be met. For someone just wanting to see a great action flick this summer, you'll probably love it.

I tend to grade movies on three seperate things, the special effects, the plot line, and the acting itself. Each of these is self explanitory and in the line of this movie I must say I found little to fault on any level. I'm certain that some people will say that the plot is something perhaps a little far fetched, but when we take into account the time line, and the era in which the film's time line progresses, it falls into the realm of acceptability. the 1950's was filled with the points made again and again in the film. Indy stayed true to character in his classic macho and yet endearing fashion. The introduction of the young Mutt Williams added the youthful zeal to the film that some of the earlier films also depicted. Two points I would have liked to see progressed further but which seemed to lack in my opinion were how Miriam behaved, her seemingly non-chalant behavior, though I grasp the concept that she is a more mature woman in this film, and seems to have put childish things behind her. The second is that it would have been a nice addition to see Mutt with some kind of love interest on his own. Over all I really enjoyed the film though some of the others in my group who saw it with me, were not to enthusiastic. I felt it kept in form with previous Indy films, and plots, and I can hardly wait to see the next installment with Indy and hopefully Mutt as well. Maybe they will go for something like Atlantis, or to investigate the power behind the Bermuda Triangle. Whatever they choose, I know it will be interesting.

This movie is a great example of a timeless trueism. No matter how brilliant the special effects, or how famous the actors/director/producer, if the story is weak the movie will suck. I fully expect to have to suspend my disbelief for an Indiana Jones movie. SPOILER ALERT!!! They totally lost me though, when the crew plunged over the third gigantic waterfall in less than 5 minutes and all showed up on shore afterwards without a scratch. If this movie were half as clever as the original "Raiders of the Lost Ark" they would have come up with some last minute twist prior to the third waterfall plunge-as in the famous bazaar scene from the original "Raiders" when Indy famously remembered that he had a GUN as well as a whip when things looked particularly bleak. It just seemed to me like the producers were more concerned with setting up the inevitible video game and future sequels than they were in telling a great story. Save your money. Rent the DVD if you must see this flick. It should be in the stores pretty soon.

First off - why the heck was this movie rated PG-13? Alright - I loved the first three Indy movies. This new Indy movie was definitely the WEAKEST of them all. It was not a terrible movie, however, compared to the first three I would rate this as a big disappointment. The story was very confusing. The acting was subpar. No character chemistry or development. Marion was portrayed as a happy-go-lucky idiot. Indy was portrayed as a tired old man. His side-switching sidekick was just dumb. Too much CGI. Too many unbelievable stunts - bordering on cartoonish. I.E. - Mutt "saving" Indy from quicksand using a freaking snake. Very dumb! and the infamous Mutt swinging from vines scene. And the overall alien plot just did not seem to fit with the Indy adventures. If Speilberg would have just made an inference that the skull had extraterrestrial origins I think audiences would have accepted it more.
Like I said - not a bad movie. However, one cannot help but compare this movie to the FAR superior originals.

My husband and I really enjoyed it. Don't be swayed by bad reviews, Kingdom of Crystal Skull had all the elements of an entertaining blockbuster. Although we had concerns about the ending, we both look forward to the possibility of a fourth!

If you consider the body of Spielberg's work, this is the low point in his directing. I think this movie wraps up the storyline and leads to the next Indy movie, but substance was a bit lacking along with the acting, and originality. Bad: The stunts were so exergeratted that it didn't align it self with the actors when they were talking. Old guys won't move like that! Scene where they were using a diesel earth moving vehicle in the forest; it was destroyed but right after that a 3-line highway conveniently appeared for the jeeps to speed through. I found this installment to be a lot of fun and any true Indiana Jones fan will appreciate it. There were not too many fancy special effects which kept it true to the Indy series, don't get me wrong there were some cool effects, but a lot of old fashion effects as well. The storyline seemed like it was randomly put together and tried to shoe horn in some old, tired jokes from previous Indy movies. I felt the movie tried to play up the CGI as oppossed to an entertaining and undertstandable story. Certainly in the previous Indy movies there were some moments of suspended belief, but this movie in particular went beyond that - a bit too much for my taste. Overall the movie was entertaining, yet totally lost me (and let me down) in the last 15 minutes or so of the film. I guess they wanted to tread new waters with the sci-fi theme, but I believe Indy is much better suited for the paranormal/supernatural theme.

perosnally, i love indiana jones, he was probably one of my favorite heroes growing up, and to be honest, i feel like this movie did not do him, or the other indiana jones moves credit, if it were in my power, i would request my money back from george lucas and steven speilberg for stealing 2 hours of our lives. i will never get those two hours back. darn you! i irately shake a fist at you! shake! shake!. ranting aside, the move was, by comparason to the other indy filems disjointed, confusing, and difficutly to suspend disbelief. the plot was thin at best, wasy to see through, the twists, those few that were there, really weren't as much twists as a vague plot wave. i've seen better movies by all involved, and sad to say. i don't htink i'll be able to brin myself to watch another speilberg/lucas film, i just don't think my poor lil heart could take it.

Disappointed, the spaceship and aliens were too much. Harrison Ford was great along with the rest of the cast, but it all was done before: ie ,chase scenes and fights etc. Not as great as i would have hoped for.

The great thing about the original Indiana Jones films was Steven's attention to detail, Lucas' willingness to create the best films available, and the writer's creativity. In the case of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, all 3 of those elements were sort of missing. Spielberg let some of the silliest writing and some of the goofiest ideas into this movie. Most of which I can't get into because I don't want to give away the story; but you'll have to trust me. Steven let some very average writing into this script-- and I'm shocked by that. Yes, it was a pretty entertaining movie. But, no the overused, and in many cases, pointless C.G.I. was not part of that entertainment. Seeing so many fake images that could have easily been filmed was an insult to the Indiana Jones franchise. One of the exciting parts on the Indiana films was the GRANDEUR of it all. And for the film to cut corners and go "lazy" on us by using pointless special fx is an insult to Indi fans. However, it wasn't a total waste. Most of the film was still fun and exciting; so I'll give it an average B-. I just wish the work and effort that went into the other 3 was also found in this one. That which is lacking became very distracting.

I did like the movie but thought it could've been a little better, . I found it had alot of funny parts, but not as much action as the other one's! Still The Temple Of Doom remains my favorite!

Nice spin on the origins of the crystal skulls referenced by others, such as Clive Cussler. Funny tie-ins with other Jones movies. Some similarities with National Treasure. All enjoyable. I laughed, hid my eyes, 'felt' Shia's angst, Kate's overwhelming desire, and Harrison's older-but wiser, respect for history. Marion was still the imp. Character-wise everything clicked. Action wise-it was exciting. Plot-depends on whether you accept inter-dimensional travel as plausible. The scenery was beautiful. A few technical questions-like how did Kate get down that 'well' so quickly-with no stairs and why ask if Shia has a knife, when you know he does. Nice to see the good prevail, with scruples no less (Yes, Dr. Jones did put that dagger back!).

Yes...the stunts were (at times) over the top, and the plot was somewhat unbelievable. However, this should be expected with the Indiana Jones series of films. It is part of the charm.

I'm a huge Indy and Shia fan! Loved the Indy humor - Harrison was perfect! Marian's return = nice & allowed us to see a softer/more reflective side of Indy - they honored the memory of Indy's dad & Marcus - great characters! Shia=a GREAT addition - written & acted perfectly. Loved 1 hr & 35 min of the movie. The ending - completely disappointing! My 11 yr old son was angry, saying, "that wasn't an Indiana Jones movie!" For those that haven't seen it - my advice: leave early & imagine an adventurous/virtuous Indy ending that matches the standards of the classics of yester-year! Long live Indiana!
