I thought this was a real good movie. I would recommend this to my friends. I, however, thought that the alien storyline and ship was a little much. There seemed to be a lot of things from different movies that had been used in this movie. But still entertaining and enjoyable. Glad Indiana and Marian finally get married.

Lots of action and CG effects. Most of the action is a stretch at best. Shia Lebouf isn't in his element for this movie. The alien plot should belong in ET and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, not Indiana Jones. There are great one-liners and may be a guilty pleasure. If you're a big fan of the previous Indy films, you might be a bit disappointed. Save your $10 and wait for the DVD.

For the record, I'm not a particularly huge fan of the Indiana Jones series. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the movie much more than I thought I would. Yes, much of the plot was far-fetched, but hey so were the plots in the first three Indy movies. I don't understand why any would expect otherwise. As for the acting, Harrison Ford, Shia LeBeouf, and Karen Allen were fine. I did have issues with Cate Blanchett's Russian woman. Go see this movie on the big screen; it's the only way to see it.

Please, don't let the title misguide you. When I say just another Indi movie, what I really mean is that the movie is as good as its predecessors. The movie is packed with excitement as any other Indiana Jones movies, it has great special effects and it is to the standards of the best of the action movies of the digital era. Kudos to Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett and Karen Allen, reprising her feisty role of the first installment of Indi, for a job well done.

What happened?? I was hoping for so much more. The storyline was pitiful! The fight scenes were totally unbelieveable..even by movie standards. They should have left the saga at 3. To tie this 4th movie with the other three is a shame. You let us down George and Steven :(

I am a HUGE Indiana Jones/Harrison Ford fan but this movie was very disappointing. I was hoping that by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg teaming up it would be awesome. The plot was dumb, and the action sequences were completely unbelievable; even by Indiana Jones films standards. Plus, there were little to no plot twists. On the up side, I was glad to see Karen Allen return as Marion.

This was a fun movie but with the caliber of talent involved I did expect more... What? I don't know, that's why I am the movie go-er and not the maker.
I thought Harrison was as handsome as ever, Cate Blanchett is a fantastic chameleon of an actress and Shia LeBeouf has an amazing career ahead of him!
The whole movie felt so much less mysterious than the first time I saw Indiana on the big screen, it was so thrilling and exciting and I don't remember ever being so emotionally charged by a movie before. I guess I was hoping for that feeling once again....maybe next time.

I also grew up with the Indiana Jones movies, and while all 3 were fantastic, this one was not. It seemed like this was thrown together with an unbelievable plot, and a cast that also seemed to not know what they were doing together. It seemed like there was a whole bunch of fighting and there wasn't really a complete story line. Disappointing to see an Indiana Jones series end like this. And Cate Blanchett's Russian accent? Oh PLEASE already---why didn't they just make her English or American and be done with it?

I'm an Indy fan but was left cold after seeing this one. All of the previous movies had a supernatural element to the plot yet remained "somewhat believable". However, this one was over the top and the sci-fi aspect of the plot tarnished the reputation of the previous films. After the first 20 minutes the storyline was predictable and slow, not the usual twists and turns I expect from Lucas/Spielberg. Save your money. Wait unti it comes out on DVD and rent it, don't buy.

I think George Lucas directed this movie...the style was more like "Star Wars" 2nd trilogy rather than a Speilberg film. Needed more actor involvement, story and direction, less special effects. Other than that lots of fun and action. Harrison looks the same...there is hope!

I thought "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls" followed the same Indiana Jones plot line. Overall I enjoyed the movie. There were many exciting chase scenes and fights with the bad guys. The only thing that disapointed me about this film was the ending. I know most Indian Jones plot lines are far fetched and you have to use your imagination to make it believeable but I think the way this one ended was a little too over the top. Focused a little too much on sci-fi then on myth and legend history. Believe me I love sci-fi as much as the next sci-fi buff, but I thought that is what separated Indian Jones from other action adventures. Also, the bad guys this time were not rotten enough. They just did not seem all that scary as past villians.

This movie was terrible! I watched all the previous films over the course of a week before going to see this one (I have been a fan since I was a kid) and this one was a huge disappointment from the others.
First off, theres always been some cheesiness to the series, but this movie took it to the extreme. The amount of horrible 'one liners' that Indy uses makes his character seem cheap and shallow. Did I mention Shia LaBeouf swings around like Tarzan in one of the scenes? Seriously, Tarzan style on the vines to catch up to the car chase? The monkeys attack the commies for some reason too? Unbelievable.
Whats the deal with the story? Lucas must've thought throwing in as many recognizable historical references as possible would make a good story. No George, the story has to have some substance and flow… and be creative. This movie did not flow and left many events in the film unexplained. There was quite a few times where the characters would say something and you wouldn't know why exactly they said it. Maybe they edited some key parts out? Jeez. They also kept using Indy’s name over and over in the film… I think it was a self affirming plug method… maybe to convince the audience its Indiana Jones and that makes the film worth while.
Cate Blanchett as the villian? I was willing to roll with it... then she has this sword which is completely laughable and I can’t understand why shes wearing a Commie jump suit (the jump suit has the "CCP" and sickle and hammer on the back just to remind the audience shes a Commie). Really? Costume design person, was that necessary? We already know shes a Communist spy for the Soviets. This irritated me… it was like they were trying too hard.
Indy turned father figure? Who didn’t see that one coming? Big surprise there, great unoriginal twist there Lucas. Then you cheese him out trying to make him act like a father when he realizes it? I’ve seen the same idea play out before in other movies and its just as unentertaining here.
Hollywood, STOP with the CGI. The greatest thing about the old films is the actual props that were used. This entire movie felt like a green screen fest. I don’t care how clever these CGI people think they are, CGI can not mimic the real world yet. Spend the money and take the time to build the props because your never going to get a real world feel from a computer.
Through all the muck though, the only scene I enjoyed was when the greasers fight the preps in the café. That was fun… for the 15 seconds the scene lasted.
All and all, I think this movie was just a way to make money for everyone involved. They tried to cram in a story and didn’t let it play out and flow like in the previous films. A very weak story (sorry Lucas, your time is over) followed by bad direction (Spielberg, what happened? Your camera shots in this film were boring) lead to what I would consider one of the worst films I’ve ever seen.
I’m going to consider the ‘Last Crusade’ as the last film in the series because this one simply doesn’t do the others justice.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Prior to writing this short review, I read a few other reviews. Indiana Jones has always seemed far fetched for me and over time. There have always been times where everything was unexplainable. Same goes for this movie. Due to where the 'artifiacts' origin began, this movie envelopes around a 'science fiction' theme.
The only thing that I didnt like was Indiana Jone's Age, grated the movie would have flopped if they 'tried' to have someone other than Harrison Ford but they tried to incorperate his age, which amazingly worked.
To be honest I went to the movie with the belief I would be greatly disappointed. I was wrong.

I think this latest installment of the Indiana Jones series ties up a lot of loose ends. How could anyone who has enjoyed the first 3 movies not enjoy Karen Allen returning. The pursuit of the crystal skull embodies all the excitement that made the series so popular originally. I do recommend watching the first 3 to refresh your memory if you haven't seen them in a while though.

I enjoyed the 4th installment however, I am still the biggest fan of #1 - Raiders of the Lost Ark and #3 - The Last Crusade. Don't get me wrong this movie was entertaining and fun. There was a lot of action and humor, but the "plot twist" if you can call it that, I saw coming a mile away. Indy and the sci-fi alien thing just doesn't cut it for me. I prefer the adventures where he is seeking historical/religious relics. Overall, it was a good movie and I enjoyed it, but they may have wanted to leave the series on the high note that the "Last Crusade" created.

I will start by saying Raiders is my favorite movie of all time. Needless to say my expectations were very high for this newest installment, especially with Lucas/Spielberg at the helm and the excellent Karen Allen from Raiders back to bring toughness and sexiness to the female role. It was fun to see Ford swinging away on his whip battling a new set of foes again and there were some great action sequences. But the incredibly lame plot and the introduction of the annoying Shia LaBeouf made this installment a disappointment. It definitely had its moments, but overall the movie did not pace well and Karen Allen unfortunately was completely wasted with little given for her to do by the director and she was introduced much too late in the story. I hope they make another film and are able to get it right the next time...please do not make LaBeouf the new Indy...he lacks the charisma and likeability necessary for the role...River Phoenix knocked it out of the park in the Last Crusade so it is proven that it can be done. Find someone else to take the reins.

Maybe it's just me, but I am still entranced with the old Indy. The movie was good but not awesome. The "bad guys" didn't seem that bad, and Indy lacked the awesome "getaways" from the original movies although there were a couple times he had to use his brains to escape.
On the other hand, I did think the effects and the storyline were okay. I feel like there could have been more thought put into the plot, but it is a movie that I would recommend to a friend. I don't think it was horrible. I think it was decent.
