I must say that I enjoyed this movie...however! The sci-fi aspect was too much. It really ruined it for me. They went too far with this one and it nearly became a different movie entirely and not an Indiana Jones. Is it possible to be too hight tech? YES!!!! I miss the good 'ol Indiana, not the sci-fi one!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

If you walk in with suspension of disbelief at the door and have loved the past stories of Indiana Jones then you have to see this! Harrison Ford delivers as usual giving a mere mortal hero the wit to unearth any mystery. There will be no oscars for deep dialogue or twisting plots, but everything about this movie is entertaining. Cate Blanchett's over the top Soviet Persona and Shia LaBeouf's tough greaser/heir to the Jones Family Adventures helps push this movie to pure celluloid fun.

THis was a great sequel to the other Indiana Movies! Really lots of action from beginning to end! Shia Labuff added a great new character and good to see his former girlfreind reappear! Great action and lots of fun throughout the movie. Great ending!

Overall I liked the movie, but for an Indiana Jones movie it was very heavy on the Sci-Fi. There was a little too much action with not enough drama. And I found Cate Blanchett's character to be a poorly written hollow shell. It is missing the air of the first three that Indy gets by on the seat of his pants, it usually takes him forever to figure things out. This time it all seemed to come too easy. I needed more emotional tension between Indy and Marion early on to believe the end. Finally I missed the opener that had nothing to do with the rest of the movie, but was actually the end of his previous adventure. This time the story just started right away. I would still recommend it to my Sci-Fi friends. Indy fans will probably be dissapointed; although, after so much time since the original three it just wouldn't be America if they were happy.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull fits well into the film series, picking up 20 years after the previous entry.
The plot still involves the supernatural (or otherworldly, if you prefer). It's the funniest film of the series and changes up the formula a bit. The action sequences are still there but Indy gets more help this time around than every before.
Like the other Indy films before it, Crystal Skull is fun and will keep you entertained. There are a couple of twists that you may not see coming, but they work well and involve the extraordinary. The film does a good job of welcoming an old friend back.

It was garbage. Sadly. And I even lowered my expectations. All three major players are to blame: Lucas, Spielberg and Ford. Someone should have recognized how bad the script was. Sad.

George Lucas must be stopped. He was a genius at one point, but now is destroying his former creations. Be happy with Last Crusade. It is not Harrison Ford's fault, though I can not help but wonder what went through his mind that THIS is the script he returned for.

This was old school Indy and the best I've seen from Lucas in well since Jedi. The stunts and fight scenes were over the top but in such a fun way that it makes it ok. The comedy adds such a great layer. Shia was great, I think he makes an excellent transition for Indy. Loved that they brought back Karen Allen they looked so right for each other (so few age appropriate relationships these days). The plot was a bit over the top but loved the adventure of getting there. I highly reccommend this to anyone that enjoyed the old movies, but it has enough of the new high adventure and action to make it great for kids. All the teenagers who were watching it with me were cheering.

its embarrassing. George lucas and stephen spielberg should trully be ashamed of themselves. they took Indiana Jones to the commercial big budget bull %#$@ that we all hate. That has no artistic merit what so ever. i loved the past movies and this one they lost complete control. With the sci-fi addition and the CGI and the ridiculous acting and dialogue it is not worth seeing nor remembering.

If you are an Indiana Jones fan and enjoyed the other 3 movies I think you will also like this movie. It has the same recipe with a few updates to age the movie along with the character along with a few references to the old favorites. I felt it was true to the time period and kep the audience living Indy's life as he progressed through the years. In addition, I did not feel that the new character introductions overwhelmed the existing ones. Overall a good addition to one of my all time favorite trilogies!

I went to a midnight screening of the film here in Charlotte - and there was NOBODY in line at 11pm. This had me worried, point #1.
But the first scene in the warehouse brought me back to being 10 years old again because there he was - INDIANA FRAKKING JONES!!!
Sure there are gaping plot holes and moments of eye-rolling stupidity (I mean, does Shia have a connection with monkeys or something?). But overall - now that I've had some time to digest the film - I think it definatly will be enjoyed over time.
I recommend going to see this and bring along a 10-15 yr old sibling, nephew, or cousin. They'll be brought into a world that only the Bearded One could come up with.

I thought this movie was great, but a few shades off from the oringial trilogy. Yes, I know Indy has aged and such, so I didn't expect him to be like he was in The Last Crusade. The story was told like a classic Indy film, the chase for a great power or prize. This is what makes Indy, welp, Indy. The only problem I saw were the irrelevant cast of characters, Mutt, Mack, and even possibly Marion could have been ditched in the making of this film, and in my opinion, could have been a greater film just with Indy himself...ok maybe LeBeouf keeping a side-kick role. Last but not least, the villians in this film...well just weren't a standout whats so ever. Blanchett had a role where she could have been more of a standout villian( like....Mola Rohm) but was riding the line between villian and friend of Indiana Jones (using him instead of trying to kill him!) throughout the film. What I did liek though is how the action sequences were kept to its original form, and kept up-to-date in releavance to Indy's age. I also loved the many references to the previous films. Though the ending is very open-ended, the farewell in The Last Crusade was more powerful than this one. Damm you Sean Connery!
Overall, the vibe of this film is Indy material (stunt sand one-liners), and very exciting and packs a heavy punch like its predacessors.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I really felt that the movie stuck with the rest of the collection. You will be able to go out and buy this one and it will seem to fit in very well. I love the fact that they did not attempt to change his age and just let Indy just be a boit older. With a few suprises at the begging that make the whole movie even more entertaining makes a for a detiled review hard. So lets just say that it really sticks to true Indiana Jones style and I do not feel you will be disappointed.

I went in to this fourth installment of the series with an open mind and the lowest of expectations. I am a true and avid Indy fan, and have been since I first saw Raiders of the Lost Ark. I have to tell you, once that familiar Paramount logo appeared and the opening sequence began, I felt as if I was in grade school again. And the world outside just went away.
Even though this latest adventure is not the strongest of the franchise, it still belongs along side the others. Probably somewhere between "Temple of Doom" and "Last Crusade." Even the aesthetics were right on mark! The feel, the music, the story, and the characters, all made this fourth film another exciting adventure with DR. Jones!.

In the first ten minutes of the movie, I it felt kind of cheesy and corny. I was concerned at this point, but then my expectations were met. I felt that sense of excitement and adventure. I felt like I was a kid again and remembering the feeling that I had when I watched "The Last Crusade."
The movie lived up to my expectations and had a lot of funny parts, as well as exciting action scenese. Harrison Ford did a great job and he made us believe that he is still able to be Indiana Jones. His son played a great supporting role and hopefully, he will be able to take over the reigns if there are any other sequels to this movie.
This movie was a sucess and I look forward to seeing it again!

Going into the movie I was super excited to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. As it opened I felt like a little kid the action was over the top just like you would expect from and Indiana Jones movie. There was some things lacking in Harrion Fords whit but he is still Indiana Jones. The movie kept me entertained and with the story it could have been worse. I enjoyed this movie and look forward to adding it to my DVD Collection. If you grew up watching these movies seeing Crystal Skull will bring back the action and adventure you remember as a kid.

Not liking a Spielberg, Lucas, Ford film seems a bit conunter intuitive. I attended the midnight showing of "Kingdom" with two of my children and some of their friends. The general reaction was the same, "good, but not great." Why "good"? Because of the abilities of the principals. Why "not great"? A few reasons: the opening scene was odd; the audio was strange, it was a little too cute in parts.
We were still happy to be with our old friends.

18 years. Thats how long it has been, and ironically how old I was, when the lasy Indiana Jones movie came out. I have seen all 3 of the original movies opening day...and each time I was excited as a kid in a candy store about it, and was never let down.
This time was no exception.
A lot of people have udoubtedly seen "movie crtitics" reviews giving it either a very good or extremely terribad rating. I will go so far as to say this Indiana Jones film is exceptional. Placing Jones amidst all the Mcarthyism of the Cold War was a brilliant move. Brining back Marion Ravenwood and seeing the little high school "I still have a crush on you" antics between her and Indy was priceless. Shai LaBeouf being brought in as Indy's sidekick was a great move, adding the young element and breathing a new sort of life into the saga. Add a two timing partner, a gorgeous Russian scientist, and all the mythos surrounding Roswell N.M. and the whole alien coverup controversy and you have one heck of a ride.
It was great to see that despite that fact that special effects have gone leaps and bounds over what they were in the last film, they tried to do as much of it "old school" as possible, putting the actors in as much of the film as possible and leaving the effects to a minimum.
All in all, I would give "Crystal Skull" a 9 out of 10.....only because I thought "Last Crusade" was flawless.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
