The movie was awesome, I can't wait to see it again. Some parts from the books are left out in the movie as expected with the time limit but they did a great job of including all the pertinent parts into the movie. Any Harry Potter fan will love the movie and probably even some that have not seen the other movies or read the books can enjoy this movie.

Having been waiting over a year for this movie, I was more than pleased with the result. The movie was fantastic and encompassed the story flawlessly. Excellent bridge to the next set of movies and we cannot wait until they are released. We will be seeing this movie again on Saturday if not again and again. The perfect balance of darkness and humor, while keeping traditional Harry Potter elements alive even, yet again, with a new director/direction.

The movie was extremely well made. It was darker than the other movies (don't let the PG rating fool you), the was dialogue quick, the action visually stunning, and the acting was fabulous. In each HP movie the actors seem to get better and better. In particular Tom Felton did a great job as Draco Malfoy. The romantic aspects of the book were played up in a humorous way that went well with the movie. To diehard Harry Potter book fans like myself, don't worry about the extra scenes added. Most of them are quite good. I definitely think this is the best HP movie yet.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was a wonderful movie in every aspect. Harry has to now cope with the death of his parents, his godfather and now Dumbledore. It's a very emotional movie. I would recommend it to almost anyone, because there is some violence, but not nearly as much as in the the 4th and 5th movies.

Once again, a little disappointed. Battle of Hogwarts left out, Mr. Weasley knew too much, no mention of Bill and Fleur, and the scene at Christmas that never occurred any where in the book. If you only see the movies, it was flawless, otherwise good , but not totally satisfying.

I loved the graphics and everything but the movie really swayed from the book. Like Fenir Greyback was supposed to maul bill weasley, and i dont remember the weasley house being burned down or the harry's encounter with bellatrix lestrange. Also, when harry and albus return, they apparate by the 3 broomsticks, they find out that the barkeep gave katie bell the cursed necklace but she was imperius cursed by malfoy. also harry was invisible and frozen when he watched dumbledore die, there was no encounter with snape. and snape used malfoys wand to kill dumbledore. Also, there was a fight between dumbledore's army/the order and the death eaters in the book. Other than the inaccuracies, i thought this movie was great, really entertaining!

This Harry Potter movie is the best one yet. The two and a half hours passed by very quickly, and it had several surprises in it. I will say that the first twenty minuts were slow and confusing but after that it was a great expierence. I would not recommend this movie for very young children.

Although some liberties were taken with the story line to provide action scenes for the movie (as happens), I enjoyed this movie thoroughly. It captured the light-hearted relief of the book while still laying the groundwork needed for the series finale.
Not a fan of Michael Gambon's interpretation of Dumbledore (Richard Harris nailed the role), I was pleasantly surprised by his performance in this movie; quite understated.
I'll see the movie again!

I don't understand movies when they don't put in key elements of the book but add things that aren't in the book. The beginning disappointed me. I really wanted to see the glasses bopping the Dursleys on the head. And what was that with the Weesley's house????? They could have left that out all together but put more in about the other horcruxes in and what happened to Dumbledore's funeral? Too many people they would have to pay to be in the movie? I don't get it! I really don't. My kids loved it but they didn't read the book. My husband and I not so much. But, like he said, after it comes to DVD and direct TV and you watch it a million times over, it will grow on you.

Although we can't follow the books completely, what storylines the screenwriters chose to represent were done very well. The actors are still giving it their all & we've seen them "grow" with their characters in many ways. There was more comedy in this movie than the others, which is refreshing given the darkness of this book. The CGI was terrific, the suspense, cliffhangers and scares were also well done. They got an actual jump & scream outta me! SO, avid readers & movie followers alike will NOT be disappointed! I think I'll be seeing it again!!

I've always loved the Harry Potter movies. I never have time to read the books so them ovies are great for me, and the 1st - 4th were exciting and captivating wiht surprise endings, the last two however seem like transition movies to me. Both have their own little surprises and twists, but for the most part i felt like HP6 was just a lead up to the next movie, as i felt with HP5. The first 4 movies could stand alone if they had to, but i don't feel this one could because i relys heavily upon what has already happened or what will happen to build suspense. Still good to see, but not as individually exciting as the others.

Was this movie worth the additional 9 months of waiting? In my opinion "NO". Lets face it, it was the slowest book in the series. While the visual effects are great, the story was just a little too choppy. The acting was fair for the most part. I just wish Daniel Radcliffe would learn to cry. That way people are somewhat moved by him, and not snickering at him and ruining what little movie is left for everyone else. I can only hope that the 2 part seventh movie is truly worth the 2 year wait we all have in front of us.

I am frustrated with the movie. They ommitted huge parts, say, the ENDING where the students and death eaters battle, as well as Dumbledor's funeral. They also totally changed things such as where Harry is when Dumbledore is killed. He is supposed to be stupefied(under the invisibility cloak) by Dumbledore just as Draco walks in... this is clearly NOWHERE near what happens in the movie.... FRUSTRATION was also at a height when things were just thrown in for kicks, for instance when the burrow gets torched. Also, Voldemort fails to make an appearance as do Kreacher and Dobby....

The books have gotten longer, requiring more to be cut out of each to fit in a movie up through this sixth installment in the series. This disappoints some of us book fans, but no one can deny that this movie is beautiful to watch, still exciting even though most of us know the story already, and very fun due to the well- developed personality of the characters. I have a favorite quote: Never judge a book by its movie. It totally applies here. This movie was a complete disappointment PLOT wise. The effects were outstanding, as was the acting. If you have read the books, the screen play is nowhere close. It is disjointed and confusing. I can't see how they're going to get to the end of the series from where we are, as the screen play leaves out some important details that are needed to get to the end. I really hope another writer is doing the screen play for the Deathly Hallows!

This movie is awesome! Great special effects, atmosphere, and acting. I re-read the book the week before the movie came out so that it was very fresh in my mind. As others have pointed out, some key scenes were left out toward the end of the movie. I think the story had less impact this way, but it's still a great movie. Also, a few plot details were changed unnecessarily throughout the movie, but generally this wasn't a problem for me. I really have no idea how this movie will play for someone who hasn't read the book and doesn't have an emotional attachment, but most Harry Potter fans will consider this among the best film adaptations in the series.

A bit of a let down, especially the ending. My daughter's the big fan. I reward her reading the book with seeing the movie. So I too have seen them all. This to me had the weakest plot. Still better than 90% of other like films. Love the cast.

Not a huge fan of the Harry Series. but this one actually kept me intrigued the hole time.. most of the series i get bored with the movie but the half blood prince had me totally engulfed. the only downfall i thought was that they built up the scene with dumbledore and harry when they were going on there quest it seemed like it was building up to a lord of the rings epic adventure where they were going to kick some but but it only lead them to a stupid potion drinking contest... wow.. anyways overall good movie..

For those who didn't read the books, I think you will enjoy the humor and the special effects. I struggle with each movie release at the lack of emotion in these movies that the books really bring out. It always feels rushed in the relationship development side - Harry and Ginny; Ron and Hermoine. However, without that comparison, it is an enjoyable movie and had great moments throughout.

This overall was a good movie representation of the story except I thought the ending went flat. They did not do the small battle in Hogwarts or Dumbledore's death justice. The scene of the Weasley house burning could have been thrown out all together, it just didn't seem to fit in entirely. I thought the screen writers did a great job of representing the love dilemma's and the process of the story. I have to say that I miss seeing the ghost's, and moving portraits in the halls of Hogwarts. :D

This movie was excellent, and I definitely recommend it and will see it again myself. It definitely strays from the book, which is why it got bumped down to 4 stars, but I feel that, if you ignore what you "think" should be in it, that it works very well as a movie unto itself and is extremely enjoyable.

I was disappointed with this movie. Perhaps,... high expectations. I agreed that they have to condense the story to no more than 3 hours movie but a lot of the scenes were really nonsense which went on and on. I'm not going to give it away for those who have not seen the movie yet but if you read the book, it was kind of close to it. I give this movie a "B-".
