So far I've seen this movie twice and I enjoyed watching this film on both occasions. Some complain about things that aren't covered from the book or the film portraying things that didn't actually happen in the book, while failing to realize the film will never exactly like the book. It has rarely been done like that and this film in particular has a very long book. I do believe if you have not read the books you could be a bit lost. If you have seen all the movies you will notice that the acting has improved dramatically. They all seem to be able to do more than what they were capable of doing when they were eleven and the special effects were fantastic. The score was also fantastic and helped to sell nearly every scene.

It did deviate from the book dramatically, however, it obviously maintained the required elements. The set design, costumes, special effects and music were fabulous as ever and the cast and crew did the screenplay justice. Fine actors one and all.

This was one of the better if not the best of the movies so far although its unfortunate that so much had to be cut from the book. The biggest disapointment to me was that they didn't stick to the story 100% when Dumbledoor and Harry returned from the cave and they didn't do the big fight scene. Otherwise it was great!

With all the hype I was disappointed with this recent movie. I took my 8, 11 and 13 and thought it should have been rated PG-13. Given the characters are high school age and been in school for 6 years now I think it was appropriate to make the characters act their age. It was the funniest of all the movies ( I have seen them all) but the darkest as well. Great movie for 13+ ages. Given parents ignore the ratings and bring their toddlers to movies who were crying during the suspenseful scences I wished they would have left them at home. I think I may have enjoyed the movie more.

While I have loved all of the Potter movies, in large part because no one in Hollywood thought they could do a much better job than the author of telling the story, this is my favorite so far. The 3 main characters are all older and the problems they face are more extreme. If you liked any of hte previous movies in the series, you should like this one, probably more.

I believe that visually people will love Harry Potter. Everyone played their character. It did stray from the whole "who was the half-blood prince" a little. Overall I loved it!

I liked the movie and thought it was very funny at times. I just wish that the writers kept the movie more toward the book, because thay left out some major details and some people who I think should have been introduced two films ago(can we say Bill Weasley). Other than that I thought overall it was still a good movie.

The acting, special effects, were outstanding it hit the spot good. Although, and some people would agree some of the interesting parts of the book did get left out but it was so close though squeezing all of it into 2 hours 33 mins. I will see it again too.

This Harry Potter film is a definite go see! If you have any doubts about the quality of the movie due to some of the more recent films, which at times have been slow and tedious, wipe those doubts away. This movie moves along at a good pace and our interest was held for the entire film. I left the film telling people that I couldn't wait for the next one and seriously am considering seeing it again at the theatre. I've never seen one twice before it's been released to the movie channels. I always have waited to see them again by that media. Great film, great direction, and great acting!!!

This definitely was NOT the best Harry Potter movie. There wasn't enough magic and to many changes from the book. I wanted at least 1 good battle between good and evil and didn't get that. I hope since we are stuck with this director for the last two he did a better job on those. The special effects were good but not enough of the story.

I will agree with the folks that said it strayed from the book, but since they didn't divide it in half like the Deathly Hallows, they needed to cut out certain parts while still allowing us to enjoy the best, meatiest parts of Half-Blood Prince. So what if Tonks didn't find Harry on the train, etc. (remember they cut out Doby from helping Harry in the Goblet of Fire too) it allowed Luna to get in her whacky parts and still allow the story to flow. I think it was an excellent film and for those folks who haven't read the book, they really get to enjoy the highlights. Go see it - it really is a great film - I look forward to watching it in IMAX next - if you didn't see Order of Phoenix in 3-D - you missed out!!!

Was entertaining to watch and reasonably well made but lacked the little nuances, frivolities and details that made most of its predecessors so much fun to watch. And maybe more importantly didn't quite seem like a complete tale.
This latest installment seemed more like introductory material to the final "chapter" than a complete story and left me feeling like something was missing. I kept asking myself what actually happened in this movie that moved along the main story. I couldn't really come up with anything, though there were some significant side-events.
Worth seeing but it felt like it could've been much better.

The sixth installment of the Harry Potter saga was very well done and was very enjoyable but if you read the book you may be a little disappointed. There was too much information in the book that was not in the movie. If you read the book you probally will understand what is going on most of the time but if you haven't then you may become confused at some points. Don't get me wrong, it still is an excellent movie but they could have put more information into it. You should most certainly see it, if you love Harry Potter.

What a funny, engaging Movie! If you spend time around 14-17 year olds, you will see that teenage fun at its best was captured very well. Also, how well a troubled teenager can handle pressure. The added scenes that were not in the book did add to the story, but as I read all the books, Those scenes had me wondering what's next? I'm looking forward to the next one!

I'm definitely a HP fan, so i was looking forward to seeing the movie. In fact i went at midnight on Tuesday and it took for ever to get tickets. It was worth it though. I loved the movie but at the same time I felt it could have been better. It was good because they added the romance (which was very much needed for teenage viewers), and because this HP was funniest of them all. If you've read the books then you will be disappointed at certain parts but overall they kept the movie exciting and funny throughout, i guarantee there will be a part that cracks you up. This movie is a must see for any HP fan!

The sixth Harry Potter movie was my favorite of them all so far. It had the perfect balance of action, comedy and drama. It may not have followed the book verbatim but I think Harry Potter fans will still really enjoy it. I am taking my friends to see it. I really really enjoyed it and I would go see it multiple times.

This was my fav HP movie so far! Great job!
I loved the way that the cast was so accurately able to portray the affects and the spells of the potions... their facial expressions were dead on.
Although obviously the book has much more detail than the movie can adequately include, the movie did an excellent job of capturing the "meat" of the book and creating a truly enjoyable movie experience.

I felt that the movie could have been so much more than what it was. I did not really like some of the plot changes, and I thought the romantic parts of the movie were far too in-your-face. The ending to me was the most disappointing aspect. It seemed rushed, and I thought it was much more exciting and emotional in the book.
Overall, however, it is a good movie that furthers the plotline and anticipation for the finale films. Any HP fan should see it, just don't expect it to match the greatness of the book.

It is OK. The feel of the book was lost in character development. New scenes and truncated scenes were what connected the movie. The passing of a major character with little understanding, from the movie, left me numb. I recommend seeing it because it is part of a larger body of work. But, stroll to the theater to see it.
