I loved the way that the cast was so accurately able to portray the affects and the spells of the potions... their facial expressions were dead on.
Although obviously the book has much more detail than the movie can adequately include, the movie did an excellent job of capturing the "meat" of the book and creating a truly enjoyable movie experience.
I took my two boys to see this movie yesterday, along with their father. We all really enjoyed the movie and would highly recommend it to other families. Dwayne Johnson had an excellent performance, along with the child actors. I was pleased to see the cameos from many different folks, including the actors that played Tony & Tia in the original "Witch Mountain" movies.
I was suprised to see this movie receive a terrible review this morning on "At the Movies". As always, the movies the critics hate are the movies that my family and I seem to love the most!
The movie was OK but doesn't compare to the book! I knew there was no way that all the detail could be captured but I was suprised at how much was left out. The deep love formed between Bella & Edward wasn't felt in the movie - they went directly from being strangers to in love. Viewers that haven't read the book will really miss out! The twirling camera work made me dizzy and the scene with Bella & Edward in the tree was too long. This time would have been better spent on enhancing the storyline.
I loved the casting, though! The actors performed well. My friend wanted to see the movie again right away. I will probably watch it again but on DVD. Maybe then I can distance myself from the story in the book to better enjoy the movie.
