I thought could be done alot better. They left out alot of important things like the new Minister of Magic, the fight at the end, they could have at least mentioned who the big hairy evil guy was, and really should have included Bill and Feurs engagement. I think they focused too much on the teen romance and trying to make the nex Twilight then to make it like Harry Potter. Really poorly done, I think David Yates has done a terrible job with the last few and really needs to step it up big time for the last movie.

All of a sudden these are REAL CHARACTERS! They have EMOTIONS! No, but really, the depth of characters is great to see. I also felt like the writers took into account that most people knew all the surprises from reading the book, and they handled that quite well.

This movie seemed to have less of the exciting wizardry action, and more delving into relationships and emotions of the characters. For a viewer who has not read the books, it was very enjoyable, and even made me want to read them now more than ever. The humor was especially fun, and the intense scenes were very effective.

The movie was great. It wasn't totally true to the book. The scene at The Burrow was made up. I think the ending could have been more action packed if they had the battle in the castle as it was in the book. Daniel, Emma and especially Rupert were great! I really enjoyed the movie. I think it's now one of my favorite Harry Potter films.

I have read all of the books and seen all the movies. This has to be the darkest one of all! I left feeling unsure about it. It is very true to the book and pulls in alot of information. I thought the relationships and humor should have been brought out more and could have been done without compromising the seriousness of the movie. The special effects and scenery are awesome. But...Harry could smile more, Hermoine should stop whining, Ginny and Ron need new hairstyles, Dumbledore did not need to tell us about his knitting habits and Draco needs to learn how to cry! And, who knew the Weasly twins would grow up with style! Other than that it was a decent movie, just not AMAZING in Potter fashion.

The thing I like about the series is that it appeals to people of all ages. This is especially true with this movie. It is a little darker and more serious than the previous movies. I truely believe that this movie is the best one yet. I wasn't a big fan of the fifth movie, although I found the book very good. With that being said, the latest movie truely redeemed the negative feelings associated with the series due to the previous movie.

Half blood prince was pretty good considering that they had to do so much cutting to get the gist of the story in and transition to the final book. It was sad that among the at least 3 story lines cut, most everything from Half Blood Prince portion of the story from which the title was taken was taken out too. The movie effects were awesome - the best yet in a Potter movie, the soundtrack was right on par with the movie, and the acting was some of the best yet. I do recommend going back and picking up the book and re-reading it if you haven't done so recently to fill in the rest of the storyline though. I've already begun.

I was slightly disappointed with the 5th installment of the Harry Potter movie series, and so I went into the Half-Blood Prince both with doubts and with heightened expectations. It lived up to every one. The action sequences were exciting and breathtaking, the love scenes were heartwarming and honest, and the comedy elements were fantastic. Then there was the ending which had me in tears. I will go see this one again, and can't wait to own it on DVD to watch as I please.

I was waiting for this movie since it got postponed from last fall, and I thought it was worth the wait! I loved that it was a darker film, but like many people say it didn't stay true to the book too often. Some key parts were left out. I liked when the film showed the muggle life and london, but I would of liked to see the new minister of magic and DA fighting the Death Eaters in the castle, which both happened in the book. Also where were the Apparation lessons for students and Dumbledore's funeral?? That would of been great to see.

HBP was my favorite HP book, but NOT my favorite movie. There was too much emphasis on the teen love stories and not enough on the history of Voldemort. Without the backstory on Voldemort, Deathly Hallows won't make as much sense.
Scenery was beautiful, acting was good, but storyline was lacking.
Those who did not read the books will like it better.

This movie was the least related to the book. It had scenes that were never mentioned in the book, like the fire, and cut out some of the best scenes, like the fight scene in the castle. Daniel is gorgeous, but his acting is weak here, Michael Gambon has never been able to pull off Dumbledore, and this movie was the worst. More disappointing was the fact that they removed so many important characters, that gurantees the seventh movie will be as unrelated as this (for example bills and fleurs engagement). As a real harry potter fan, it sucked, and any viewer, it was an ok movie.

Although I am a hardcore "stick with the book" when it comes to movies, I REALLY enjoyed this one! It was a lot more lighthearted and humorous than the book, and though i had been waiting for the apparition lessons and moaning myrtle..... i had a GREAT time!

The director did a very good job of getting across the main message of the book and kept some of the funniest and most interesting scenes. Even the scenes that were not in the book fit the general story pretty well. Slughorn was great!

As most fans will be agreeable when film makers try to replicate a book, I found that the directors and producers took far too many liberties with the story line this time around. I felt the story very chopped and the parts that were left out for the sake of more snogging scenes was disappointing. Although the last battle with Dumbledore is visually stunning, it runs far from that famous scene in the book! And what about the rest of it? No Funeral scene? I don't think this movie lives up to the Harry Potter franchise this far. It was good to finally see another movie - I just wish it had been a better one. And I hope they do a better job with the last two.

Just got back from it, and thought it was the best out of the series so far. I liked the added scenes of Harry/Ginny- one thing Rowling didn't do a very good job of, IMO , was developing their relationship in the book. The movie made it seem more real. Gambon nails the role of Dumbledore. Biggest complaint was the lack of Snape. When he was on screen he was great, but I wished he had more scenes. Ending kind of came out of the blue, and Ron didn't get one line in, either! Since DH begins at the Burrow with the wedding, and it's destroyed in this movie- where will the wedding be? Also- I hated that we finally got to see the whole house (inside) just to see it get demolished. But complaints aside, it was a very enjoyable movie.

Very dissapointing, while the other movies stayed true to the books this one did not. I felt it left out very important points that lead to the last book. Have read all the books and enjoyed them all. This movie was my favorite yet. Great special effects, more humor than the earlier ones though the subject matter was mostly darker. Looking forward to seeing it again - multiple times!

Overall it was quite well done, Of course they can't fit all 600 something pages of the book into a movie you can watch without an intermission, so things are going to be cut and the fans will notice. (Dumbledore's funeral, Battle of Hogwarts, ahem) But the acting of the trio has greatly improved and it was good to see Tom Felton with a larger part. Jim Broadbent was perfect as Slughorn. The film was well balanced with comedy and action. It will leave you counting the days until Deathly Hallows part 1.

I loved that there was a lot of humor in the film. I had just reread the book 2 days before the movie came out. I know that there has to be things cut out for time restraints, but for people that have not read the books, it can be a bit confusing. We took someone that had not read the books and she followed it pretty well. All in all I liked the movie, and can't wait for the last 2 movies.
