This was a great movie, and the special effects improve with each new Harry Potter movie that comes out. The book was more in depth, but that's usually the case...but the movie did a good job of creating everything that the book described. Can't wait for the final book to be put into movie(s)!

I found that certain parts of the movie were dragged out more than they needed to be. Overall it was a good movie. It did a good job of setting up to the movies for the seventh book. I was just hoping for a little more action.

The latest Harry Potter film has more focus on relationships which deepens the bonds between the Harry, Ron and Hermione which I liked. I also liked the change in lighting - which included more daylight and less dark shadows. I enjoyed the film but felt it dragged a little bit in places and could have used stronger dialogue. The film led up to final action scenes followed by an understated ending. I would have liked to see more detailed story lines out of the book to give it more depth - something J.K. Rowling is extremely talented at writing, even if it were longer. But overall I liked it and would recommend it even if it is not as strong as some previous Harry Potter movies.

This was a wonderful movie. It was funny and emotional at the same time. It is very hard to put so much book into a movie but the purpose of this movie is to set up the next 2 films which it delivers on that. Rupert Grint steals the show. He was so funny and believable as a love sick teen. Did this movie follow the book, no. But this movie did what movies are suppost to do which is entertain.

David Yates and Mrs. Rowling did a great job by sticking to the book in this movie then they did in the last movie. It's funny seeing Ron love life in this movie and professor Slughorn as well. it does have a lot of fighting in this movie like the others, so it can get a little boring. If you are book lovers teh ending is way better than the books ends because it will leave you in suspense for the next movie.

HP and the Half-Blood Prince was very entertaining, funny even. This was surprising as the books get darker as you go from book 1,2,3 to 6. I was expecting more action centered around the fall of an institution rather than the frequent "snogging" and lighthearted ribbing that took place. Rupert Grint did display more acting talent than usual. General audiences should really enjoy this movie, serious Potter fans may come away feeling a little empty.

Overall it was a great movie. Was a little upset about stuff they added that was not in the book, and they left out a lot of stuff. I don't understand why they added the Weasly's house getting burned down, and why they did not start the movie with Harry at the Dursley's. Also why did they not show Dumbledore's funeral? They also should have explained more about searching for the horcruxes, as this is vital to the end of the series.
I now want to read the book again, before going back and watching the movie again, or I might just wait for it to come out on DVD.

I felt that this was one of the better movies in the "Potter Series. Lavender and Ron were hillarious! I would have liked more footage between Harry and Dumbledore, however, it was well edited and made the story work to what needed to be presented on film. Also, I would have like more Quiddich, especially the finals with Ginny and Ron coming out victorious for Griffyndor. The story of the Half-blood Prince was neatly tied up when Snape revealed he was the "Prince".
Some may say that the movie was "slow" or had too much dialog, but this book/movie had to set up the 7th book/2 movies, especially the Horcruxes, which are the only focus of Harry and Hermoine in the 7th book.

The movie was entertaining and worth the price of bargain admission. The process of squeezing the book into the movie time allotment somewhat ruined the entire Harry Potter experience. Too much was left out and the stuff added by hollywood was without merit. I advise you read the book, and see the movie. But do not expect the book and the movie to be on the same track.

This was the best Harry Potter yet. It came as close as you could have to the book with in the time allowed. I would have like to see the relationship between Harry and Ginny expanded upon but they did that well. Also the end needed the battle inside the school to increase the tension. I went to the midnight showing - it wasn't worth it. They should have stuck to the story more than they did. The opening was pointless and some parts in the middle never even happened. There wasn't nearly enough about Tom Riddle's history or the horcruxes. My friends who came without reading the book didn’t get the whole thing because it's not fully explained. If it had just shown less of Ron's relationships...The fight between the death eaters and the Order in Hogwarts was also overlooked. I thought that was a pretty important thing in the book. Also the rating was a little questionable. I would think that with Harry being attacked by a bunch of dead things the rating would be pg13. Overall, not an impressive representation of a great book

I loved the movie. Yes they changed some of the things in the book but if you put everything that was in the book, the movie would be 6 hours long. They covered everything that they need to set up the final chapters. The relationships that have developed over the years are amazing. I can't wait until the final two, to come out. Harry Potter's sixth movie blew films one through four away. David Yates did a great job, though he was not able to outperform his work in the fifth movie. When you talk to Potter fans they complain about what was different from the book. I understand the importance of screen adaptation and why some things are better left out or added in order to make a pleasing flick. Still, I did feel movie six, more than fifth, left out elements that made the Harry Potter series so captivating, and made the sixth novel so intense. There was more attention to small plot lines instead of the big, explosive moments that would have been amazing to see on screen. Despite this major flaw, I highly enjoyed the movie and would see it in theaters again.

LOVED. LOVED. LOVED. it. Did a really good job following the book.. a few minor changes and some background left out, but didn't hurt the story. The actors have gotten better over the years, and especially Daniel Radcliff. Did a great job incorporating more humor, and the cinematography was excellent. Definitely a MUST SEE!

My biggest thought as watched this latest HP was would you enjoy this as much if you hadn't read the books? My answer is probably not. It was a very good movie but I kept missing the things that weren't said. This was a fantastic HP film! I really, really loved it. The cinematography is excellent (clear, sharp, or dark by turns, with superb choices of coloring), the acting excellent, the screenplay--well, very good. It was tight and fast, with all the sub-plots and lots of characters cut out (what are you going to do with a book of that length?). I'm skimming over the book now, however, and am disappointed as I'm reminded of many important aspects that were completely left out. Maybe it should have been split into two flims, as I guess the last will be? But still very beautiful and enjoyable.

Missing lots of substance from the book... But then you cant or should try to fit a 700+ page book into a movie! Not a stand alone movie for people who have not watched previous series titles. But well paced and exciting. Too scarey in areas for little kids and goes over board with the love stories. This is one of my favorite movie of the "Harry Potter" Series. It keeps your attention as well as had great sense of humor. Even if your not a follower of "Harry Potter" Series, this is a movie to go and see. It realtes to teenagers and their facts of life. I hope you enjoy it!

They left out a lot of detail skimming just enough detail for someone who has not read the book but is paying close attention to the movie to get the idea of what is going on. They did a good job of creating visuals of some interesting creatures but only the imagination can do justice to retrieving the Horcrux. The story was rushed but there's a lot of material in the book to cover in 2.5 hours. Given they only had 2.5 hours it was a great job. I'd go see it again.

The Movie was okay...I was a little disappointed that Voldemort wasnt shown at all in the movie. They used alot of the same music from the previous Harry Potter movies. And there was very little detail in parts of the movie that needed more explaination.

Whenever books get made into films, something is always lost in translation. Nothing is ever going to be as good as what you have pictured in your own imagination. Knowing that, I try very hard to watch without a pre-conceived notion of what to expect. I enjoyed the Half Blood Prince. It was fun to see that the characters have developed into teens who experience typical teen issues while living in a very atypical world. The scenery and the special effects were great. I am a mom and I went with my husband and teenage daughter and all of us liked it. Some parts of it might be a little creepy or scary for young children.

The movie started off confusing -What happened to Malfoy's father etc. If you did not read the book before the movie then you were left clueless. The ending was like a long pause of silence. You felt like saying and.................... Has to be the most disappointing sequel so far.
