So its time for another Harry Potter film and with the last two films not being as good as i thought they would be i wasn't too optimistic about this one. Yes they got rid of the Dursleys altogether and added a scene with death eaters burnin the burrow down but this installment had some great one liners that added tons of humer into the franchise. Yates definatly came through with this film.

This was by far the best of the series. David Yates was able to direct a movie that incorporated a lot of humor while preserving its very dark setting. The extra "scene" not from the book was also a good touch (the movie doesn't have to follow book to the word). Also its slower pace helps preserve a lot of details that the other movies left out. I think "true" Harry Potter fans will appreciate that. Overall it's the best movie I have seen in a few years and everyone who is a fan should go see it.

This movie was all I expected and more. Finally we get to see the raging hormones and feelings of teen angst and first loves. I have been a Harry Potter since the beginning and although this movie did have me crying at the end, I just loved it. Can't wait for it to come in IMAX so I can go see it again. Firstly, a lot of people go to the movie expecting it to be just like the book and get very disappointed when there are large differences. The movie is not the book, and you have to realize this and not judge it on similarity to the book. That said, I was disappointed. I wish they had kept Dumbledore's funeral, I also felt that it was too lighthearted and funny, considering the subject matter, it is a movie about the beginning of a war. I thought there was a lack of continuity from the fifth movie to the sixth, which is surprising since there was the same director. Harry goes from the death of his godfather, to light hearted flirting with every avalable female, maybe thats just me not understanding teenage boys, but it seemed odd.

I'm a fan of the Harry Potter world, both the books and the movies. But the latest movie was very poor, the worst out of the films, in my opinion.
It seemed to lack any real storytelling muscle. They spend the entire film focusing on over-the-top suggestive innuendo, which is fun and at times funny... but storytelling moments are rushed through. As a result, when something with emotional impact happens, there is no punch to it... because time was not spent on setting the audience up.

If you read the books, it's alright. They add in things that never happen, alter things that don't and the acting is never really how the characters seem like they should be. They never even explain what the half- blood prince means, they say who it is, but not why. But if you don't care about the book or don't read it, it was a good movie strictly because it was a really good book. it was kind of funny and for a two and a half hour movie, it does manage to keep your interest.

Left out some key points in the movie that were very important. Missed seeing the Dersley's get theirs. Why not creat a made for TV mini-series with this book. You may get more detail this way and keep them as close to the books as possible. Some disappointment, but at the same time was entertained with the budding romances. Will probably buy the movie when its available for purchase because I have to. Hope there is more detail in the next two movies.

The movie was good but not as good as some people have said. I still enjoy the book much more than the movie and I understand that the two will never be the same but the movie seemed too fast leaving out details. When I read the book, it seemed that this was more about learning who Tom RIddle was and how he became Lord Voldemort and I thought that was cool but I didn't see it in the movie.

Five of us went to see the movie and we all really enjoyed it. It was funny, scary, and held our interest. Some of the younger members of the audience had a hard time sitting through the movie (over 2 1/2 hrs) but my 12 year old had no problem. It was the best movie I have seen this summer.

I LOVED this movie! There are of course some things that were not completely like the book, but the movie alone was excellent. Dumbledore's death was well filmed and well acted (I even cried for hours on end unlike Sirius's death). Everyone should watch this! 5 of 5 stars!

I came into the theatre with high expectations for this movie based upon the trailers and sneak-peeks. I was not disappointed. I think that this was the best HP movie yet. Despite the fact that the movie deviated quite a bit from the book, it remained true to the feeling of the book.

I can understand those who did not read the books if they were disappointed in this movie. This movie is about the characters transition from the last movie into a new characters that are together and strong and ready to face what happens in the final movies! AHHH!!! The movie was so fantastic! The best out of the series of movies, or at least tied with the fifth. I've never read any of the books, so I had no grievances against any of the scenes, though some of the reasons for things to happen in the movie weren't clear. I must say they followed the book well even if they like to add stuff that makes no sense (burning the Burrow) However the conversation between Professor Dumbledore and Professor Snape was excellent setting up for Deathly Hallows! If you've read the book you'll know what I'm talking about. They should've done the Dursley's beginning as well it was funny. Overall I liked the movie can't wait for the next one. I really hope they don't add nonsense to it considering they are doin it in two parts and it's already detailed as it is.

So it is true the reviewers had it right. This is the best Potter yet. The acting is amazing. The directing and overall of the film is great. However, being a huge Harry Potter fan I have also read the books. I felt there were certain aspects of the books that I was excepting to see in this film that were missing and I thought would certainly be needed in order for Harry to have all the information he needs. Also I was hoping for a little more action and dualing. Of course I am going to see it again. I just wish it could have been more like the book. I for one would not have minded sitting through a five hour movie with an intermission.

We grandfathers took our two pre-teen boys to see the movie on Thursday. These boys were so engrossed in the movie they didn't make a sound all through it. The Half-Blood Prince is by far the best of the movies so far. Film is true to the book even though compacted, but the scenes portrayed were essentials to the story. Cinematography excellent. Leading actors have really grown in skill and talent. Cliff hanger is good to anticipate next film. Must see! Even grandpas enjoyed it; one has read all the books in the series and has personal copies of each DVD thus far. Waiting anxiously for DVD of Half-Blood Prince.

Although I wasn't thrilled with the fact that they added a scene not in the bok and that some details that I felt were important to the story got left out, overall I really enjoyed this movie. I found the book to be a little slow moving and it was honestly my least favorite of the series, but the movie version won me over in the end. Lots of laughs, as usual, and fantastic direction. even though it was not exact to the book it was great and just like daniel raddcliffe and the rest of the cast said, the movie and book are two different things and you cant expect it to be the same

I was not at all happy with the ending, yes it was a long movie but adding in things not in the book and leaving out important details ticked-me-off but all in all the movie was entertaining the acting superb.

Beautifully shot, the movie was thrilling. However, the plot jumped around significantly enough so that one who hadn't read the book(s) might be confused. Perhaps some important bits were left on the cutting room floor? If so, it was an unfortunate decision, as the movie was exciting enough and well acted enough to have sustained audience interest for far longer even than the unusually long running time of 2:33. It really did seem as if there were some very rough cuts made. Maybe the writing could have help here, to make the plot more smoothly understood. It is sad that this otherwise perfect movie should suffer from these strange flaws. Can we look forward to a Director's Cut?

It was a much anticipated movie to see, in our area they added 4 more showings to accomidate all the people that wanted to see it. As the movie started one was expecting it to be a serious movie, instead they went with the light hearted side of the book and showed us that the characters had feelings for each other. It was fun and funny, but still missing many of the important points of the book. Wish it would have been just a bit longer to add some of those.
