It is always good to see a HP book come to life on the big screen, but this one was just OK. Some things are pretty glaring...why would Draco be left alone with no watchful eyes after his father was known to be a Death Eater? If Voldemort could not kill Dumbledore, why would he order anyone else to even try? Also, why would Bellatrix or others not just kill Harry with their many obvious, easy opportunities to do so? We of course know why but Voldemort and crew do not (yet).
It was fun to see book 6 come alive but it was not a great HP movie.

We lilked this movie but really had a problem with the deatheaters burning down the Weasley's house, and when Harry watched Draco with Dumbledor and doing nothing about it (very out of character for someone who always helps, and sticks up for, his friends).

I found this movie disappointing. I will say that this movie was truer to the book than the 5th. I guess it is the director, not sure, but these two movies have been the worst in the series. It's like they picked things from the book they wanted to put in the movie and then through it all together. It didn't flow well, it was all over the place. The ending was VERY disappointing too. It could have been SO MUCH MORE! Plus it made Harry look a little stupid too like he was scared to do something and of course we know from the book he couldn't b/c he was petrified. My husband hasn't read any of the books and it was hard for him to follow.

Very good movie. It will leave you waiting for the next installment, similar to "The Empire Strikes Back." I felt there were just two flaws with movie. First, in the last Harry Potter movie, The Order of the Phoenix was created, yet it is never mentioned by name in this movie. Second, there was no explanation as to why the Half-Bolld Prince is called The Half-Blood Prince. He just reveals his identity and no explanation follows. My friend, who has read all the books, had to give me an explanation for the name. Other than the two complaints stated there really aren't many flaws with the movie. The story keeps you involved, the cinematography is perfect, and the actors have matured into pros.

I love all of the Harry Potter movies and I was very excited to see the Half Blood Prince. However, the fight seen at the end of the movie was a little disappointing. This is one time I think the writters and directors should have followed the book a little closer. Overall the movie was great and I would recommend it to anyone. It's a fantastic movie, some parts are cut out like the funeral but overall it's a great movie to get us set up for the 2 final movies. Also when Harry and Ginny kiss I was a bit disappointed because they kiss in the common room after she wins the game for them.

I was very disappointed with HP6. A lot of scenes that would have made the movie exciting were left out (battle at Hogwarts with the felix potion). Even some love interest scenes between Lupin and whatserface. Sorry the movie was boring and probably confusing I think for those who had never read the book. Also, contrary to others who have reviewed it did not stay true to the book. Scenes were done differently than how it read in the book.

As with all HP movies, this was terrific. However, the concept of the half-blood prince was almost irrelevent. The title infers a greater presence of the idea than the one that was presented. The progression of the plot was captivating then started to got weak and just fizzled. In the end, I was left with a feeling of "that was it?"

If you didn't read the books, you will love this movie. Of course they changed things to speed it up, but they actually changed some major components, like Harry's relationship w/Slughorn and adding scenes that weren't in the book at all. Was a good movie for anyone who had not read the book. They added a fight scene in the middle of the movie that was not in the book that was lackluster at best. I was really looking forward to the Hogwarts fight scene but that was not in the movie. They also changed a few things from previous movies such as the Pensive in Dumbledore's office, it was much different in appearance this move then in the Goblet of fire.

I wish they'd stayed truer to the book this time. Yes this technically serves as a setup for the final two movies but it was still rather disappointing. Adding in scenes that weren't in the book or drastically changing ones that were was completely unnecessary. I know it's been said that it was done to make it more dramatic but then they completely leave out the battle at Hogwarts between the Order of Phoenix and the Death Eaters?!?!?!
All that aside, I did enjoy the movie and I will most likely see it at least once more in the theater. But my fingers and toes are double and triple crossed that they do proper justice to the final book.

This was my least favorite of this series. There was so much to draw on from this book, yet the script writer decided to add inane stories. The whole opening with the waitress hitting on Harry? What was that? The scenes of teen angst seemed wedged into the rest of the movie so much that when Lavender breaks up with Ron in the hospital wing in front of the various professors, it was an abolsute cringe-inducing moment. Like I was embarrassed to have them see this ridiculous melodrama play out. Then they have Dumbledore make some stupid comment to lighten the mood. It just added to the awkwardnesss. It's just a shame to see such a high quality story get reduced to a teeny bopper movie plot, more like something out of Dawson's Creek.

As a huge fan of the HP books, I was disappointed in this installment. This was probably my favorite book in the series because it was such a page turner. The movie had me yawning and checking my watch. I knew a lot would be left out for times sake, but seriously folks.... leaves A LOT to be desired. Would only recommend to true HP fans.

I was disappointed by this moving. It dragged throughout the whole thing. There was only minimal action. The book had so much more going on. I know that the movie won't be the book, but they could have done a better job. Where was the huge fight scene at the end of the movie??
Wait for DVD or for it to come out on HBO.
