It has been several years since I left a theater thinking "wow that was awesome". Real Steel is one of the best movies of the last several years. Without being a spoiler, think Rocky I but with robots. Good human story, edge of your seat, some laughs, etc. Well done.

Good but not great

The final movie was definitely good, but not great. The movie left out some critical details from the book that would explain things a bit better.
(Spoiler Alert)
I thought the build up to the final showdown should have been more intense. They should have explained how Harry was able to live after Voldemort killed him. Also, it was strange how Harry's friends and classmates did not react to what he had accomplished when he finally killed Voldemort. He was walking around the castle and others barely paid attention to him.
Definitely not the best Harry Potter film. I liked it, I did not love it. I will probably rent the horrible part 1 movie and go see part 2 again to see if it fills in the blanks a bit better.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Not great - but an OK movie

It was an entertaining movie but not fantastic. They certainly have the star power to make it very good but it was a little 'hokey' and the story line was weak. They could have made the story line drama much more intense. Great special effects and some laughs.

Tough to make a bad HP movie,this was not the best

It is always good to see a HP book come to life on the big screen, but this one was just OK. Some things are pretty glaring...why would Draco be left alone with no watchful eyes after his father was known to be a Death Eater? If Voldemort could not kill Dumbledore, why would he order anyone else to even try? Also, why would Bellatrix or others not just kill Harry with their many obvious, easy opportunities to do so? We of course know why but Voldemort and crew do not (yet).
It was fun to see book 6 come alive but it was not a great HP movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
