Took my kids to the midnight show and we all loved it. If you are a fan of the other movies, you'll be very pleased with this one too. My kids said it was one of the best Potter movies yet and can't wait for the next one.

It's been a while since I read the 6th book, which might have helped me enjoy the movie more than usual. But overall, the cast did an excellent job acting and the story line was well-written. Humor helped balance the dark story line. This is definitely the best movie made in the Harry Potter series so far.

The movie was really good, however, as a purest I was really disappointed that the writers changed so many things in the movie, for example the opening scene... that was a real bummer to me so I can't give it 5 stars but I did really like the movie and thought it was very fun!!

The movie went a completely different route then I expected. Was more of a drama than a fantasy film, which didn't suit my tastes. It deviated from the book in a lot of areas and they didn't even add in the only decent fight scene.

I've never done a "first" showing of a movie in my life and I was really happy I made this film my choice. It was great, I was riveted from beginning to end. This film did not have the "let's stop and explain some plot line from the last five movies, just in case you didn't see them" moments that I found annoying in the movies three and four.
The end was surprisingly not the tear-jerker I was expecting. I remember reading the book and balling my eyes out. I will say though I was VERY impressed with the subtleties of Alan Rickman's performance. He brought a dimension to Snape that for me was missing from the book and added a depth to his final scene that really pulled at my heart.

The latest Harry Potter movie did not disappoint (not that I expected it to). For the most part, the movie stayed true to the book. There wasn't as much action in this movie, but that's fine, because the final book/movie will have it all. This serves more as an introduction to the final segment.
The acting was top notch, visual effects impressive, and soundtrack appropriate.
More mature dialog (double entendres and such) was very welcomed. Even the "drama" between the students was generally well played and appropriate. The actors made it feel very real.
For anyone who is an HP fan, I definitely recommend seeing it!

the franchise is finally getting it right by bringing in a script writer that can make a cohesive plot out of all JK's tangled weavings. it helps that emma and daniel are learning the craft of acting. they missed the mark on the s3xual tension between ginny and harry, but this book was always about the harry and dumbledore, anyway

the movie was good. just okay i guess. they played FAR TOO much on the love story aspect when in reality that is NOT what the book/plot/storyline is about. Yes, it shows the characters are growing up, but the story isnt about the love aspect, by any means. the director should have put more of the important things in the movie.

The movie itself was very well-done, with breath-taking scenery and great character interactions. As an adaptation of Rowling's book, it was lacking a great deal of important story characteristics, and I feel the essence of the original plot was damaged by many of the additions and removals. I was there for the 12:01 show. Not only did i not yawn, but i was greatly amused. The movie direction was phenomenal, but my only complain was the comedy. I've heard of comedy relief but the whole movie was filled with material that made you laugh. I expected more scenarios, more suspense but it was mainly about love and laughter. The movie was great, just surprising.

I left the theater feeling just like I did after I read the last page of the book - rather depressed and a bit overwhelmed. However, when it was funny, it was the best use of humor ever for an HP movie, carried out extremely well by the main trio and newcomer Jessie Cave as Lavendar. A couple of scenes actually gave me shivers and were very intense (the cursing of Katie Bell and poisoning of Ron Weasley). Even though you probably won't leave thinking "Wow, that was fun", you definitely get a feel for what Harry is faced with in the next installment and feel like you were really in that fantasy world which is now not a kids' story anymore.

This was the oddball of the Harry Potter series, scenes were loosely strung together by the weakest and smallest plot so far. Visually, it was disgusting. Every scene seemed desaturated of most color, except a slight tint of sepia which drove me mad. The back lighting was horrible. The overcast sky, always seemed completely overexposed. Even the environment around Hogwarts was different. Horrible look. Though it still featured some interesting special effects, but mostly the movie came across as artificial, sort of like the film 300. The movie was funny but the magic is gone. Hogwarts just isn't the place it used to be. The end leaves something to be desired. Had this movie wowed me in the end, I would be writing a positive review.

I have read all the books and therefore was slightly disappointed by the choices made of scenes to include and scenes that were left out. I felt that the dynamic of Harry and Ginny's relationship was not explored like it was in the book. There were many enjoyable and comic parts, but there were some parts that seemed slow and some people went ADD in the audience until their attention was recaptured. Even if it wasn't the best one, i know that all harry potter fans will go watch it regardless of it not living up to the book so i wouldnt recommend otherwise.

I think that this was definately the best Harry Potter yet. But was confused as to why it was rated PG as opposed to PG-13 because although Voldemort did not appear in this movie, the sescemptra curse and the inferi would be quite frightening for children under the age of 13. Also, the acting and filming was different than any other movie. I must say that the book was much better and held lots more detail, the movie certainly had its action and thrills.

If you read the books or not, even if you haven't wanted to see harry potter before, this will be the movie in the franchise to win you over.
There's romance, comedy, intense moral quandaries, Quidditch, and, of course, wand fights. Gotta love magical beatdowns.

This movie was was definitely funny. However, it was missing important information to inform viewers about the horcruxes. The book had an ending battle scene and that scene was totally omitted. Did the Death Eaters just romp the whole castle and destroy everything while the professors sat there and watched? Obviously there was* a battle in the book but why not in the movie? The directors were probably saving the fight scenes for book 7 but it left me feeling incomplete. Not enough background information to set up book 7 and battle scenes were omitted. Good but definitely not great.

As an avid HP fan, this latest installment of the films took me by surprise. There were of course some things that didn't make it from the book to the film, but the changes made were a welcome surprise. HBP had much more comedy, more relationship and love talk than the book, and fantastic sarcasm, though this is still the darkest movie so far. It's hard to see how some important parts got left out, such as the upcoming wedding, the battle at Hogwarts, and some key Tom Riddle memories. I found myself laughing hysterically, sitting on the edge of my seat, and tearing up throughout the whole thing. Above all the film's daring changes made it even more fun to watch, definitely worth the wait, beautiful film.

Definitely a great movie!!! A must see for fans and non-fans for sure. You'll be left out if you don't because EVERYONE is talking about it. Even though I have critiques, I'd see it again, buy it, the whole package.

This movie was slow, drawn out, and boring. I love Harry Potter as much as the next guy, but I found myself wondering when the movie was going to end. There wasn't the action scenes of the 5th movie, and there was a lot of focus on the romantic relationships. There were a few funny moments, and some points of suspense, but even the climax (when Harry and Dumbledore go to destroy the Horcrux in the Cave) was not nearly exciting as I had hoped. I can only hope the 7th movies are directed more towards the action and excitement contained in the books, and less towards drama and romance that Hollywood overexagerates.

The movie had a interesting plot (of course). The acting was actually pretty good, which is surprising. It was much darker than the other movies, which is a good thing.
Problems:
The death scene could of been better, and the ending in general was lacking a little.
The Ginny and Harry relationship was terrible in the movie, they kissed like once and the kiss wasn't even good... not romantic at all and very corny.

when I went to see the movie at midnight, I thought it was one of the best so far. I only wished they had included more scenes of Voldemort since he's seen mostly in the book. Aside from that it was very funny and of course there were some scenes that I could not relate to from the book. I guess even movies need some poetic licensing but for me I would say they went far from the book too often. I will definitely see this a few more times to get a better grasp at what happens in the movie. Seeing it once may be enough for a person who has never heard of Harry Potter but as fan to the series I have to say that one viewing is not enough.

There were so many differences from book to movie. First off, Harry and Dumbledore only had two meetings to discuss Voldemort's past. Many of the memories that they dove into in the book were completely taken out, and one scene was added where the burrow was burned down and Harry attacked. It was a completely useless scene that left me confused and unimpressed with the mediocre special effects. The most important scene in the movie was over in what seemed like thirty seconds. The acting was pretty good, though trying to pass Daniel Radcliffe off as a sixteen year old is laughable. I can not beleive J.K. Rowling would let the movie people destroy a perfectly spectacular book. In one word, HP6 was Horrible.

I read the all the books and this was pretty true to the book. Some nice exciting moments..great visuals...great scenery...nice tension. My only complaint is that it seemed to take a long way to get to the more compelling parts of the story. My 13-yr-old who didn't read the book was completely captivated. Highly recommended.
