Started out great, then ended with a thud. Not enough actioin at the end, terrible ending scenes, don't know if the director ever read the book, but leaving Harry where he was while Dumbledor gets wacked doersn't fit Harry's character, he would not have idley stood by. Terrible way to end it. Don't plan on buying a ticket to see it again.

The movie itself was good, but I did not like how they added scenes that never happened in the book. With this being based on a book that was very popular and read by millions, you would think that the movie would be just like the book. I know that they can not put everything from the book into the movie, but changing things is not a good idea!!

When I saw this was going to be 2 and a half hours long, I was a little nervous. But time flew by!! I thought they did a great job recreating the book. Even though some new parts were added, and some parts from the book were left out, it was a great adaptation.

If you read the book you will find this movie to be really disappointing. In a dark sad time this movie was made into a comedy. This movie does not explain the importance of the (trying not to spoil anything) items Harry must destroy in the last book/2 movies. The most climatic scene from the book was absolutely horribly done (again trying not to spoil anything). Very saddened!

I would definitely recommend this movie to all HP fans. I think they did a great job of sticking to the book. I am so glad they made it 2.5 hours to pack in as much as possible! It didn't seem like it was that long, but it allowed a lot more material into the movie. There were some minor changes but they stayed true to the books. Great humor in this one! Definitely a couple of scary parts that may cause nightmares in younger viewers, but nothing worse than the Goblet of Fire. For movie goers that haven't read the books or had the ending spoiled - you may be disappointed in the ending - but the 6th book really is just lead up to the 7th, so be patient or read the 7th book! :)

I have not read any of the books, so I can only base my review on the movie itself...but I thought it was excellent. This was definitely the funniest of the 6 movies. Unfortunately, someone had already spoiled the ending for me, but everything in between was funny, interesting, exciting, etc. I usually start to fidget during movies this long, but I wasn't bored at all and am looking forward to seeing the remainder of the series.

I enjoyed the movie, but it dragged in places, was difficult to follow because the scenes change so fast, and the British accent and way of speaking are sometimes difficult to follow. Several words are indecipherable causing one to wonder what's going on. Overall, though, the movie was good and I recommend it, especially to Harry Potter fans, of which I am one.

The issue with reviewing a film based on a book is how do you detach yourself from what you have read in order to remain unbiased. That being said, as a film, the movie is very well done. Does it compare to say, The Dark Knight...no. Is it Oscar worthy? No. Is it the best of the series? Absolutely. I believe that it was faithful to the general theme of the book, but it was definitely missing certain aspects.

Maybe I had my hopes set too high with waiting for the release of this movie since last year, but i was disppointed in the finished product. There were key points to the book that are left out and additions that really didn't seem to make much sense. For someone that hasn't read the books I could see this being a good movie but for someone who has read the books I think you will be sorely disappointed.

I am a huge fan of both the Harry Potter books and films; however, I found this film to be lacking in certain areas. I was amazed that so many important details were left out of the film and have no idea how they will be incorporated in the last two films now that Dumbledore is dead.
I also felt that several scenes of the film were added solely for visual effect and had no impact on moving the plot forward. For me, it would have made the film much better had the director eliminated the extraneous scenes and instead put those missing details into the film.

Awesome sets and cinematography as usual with these movies. The story line was okay at best. This was obviously a filler movie to bridge the gap to the finally.

This was such a disappointment. The movie left out the best scenes in the book and added scenes that were not necessary. Really, they got rid of the fight scene in the castle and added the scene at the Weasleys?? Also, the dialogue didn't flow and the failed to explain major points of the book. The over all movie was well done - enough action, humor, and emotion - but if you've read the book then you'll be disappointed. They added events that didn't really take place, they left out very important parts, and changed the way certain evens took place. I walked out of the movie very disappointed and fustrated by how the movie had been done. For people who didn't read the books they got a complelely different story line then that of the book.

It was okay but i hated that they choose a different focus for the end instead of the begining of the battle at hogwarts and Dumbledore's funeral. Ron was extremly funny and Malfoy was incredible. The graphics were great and i can't wait to see in again in imax.

Don't get me wrong, this movie is probably the best one yet. It is as dark as you'd expect, but still you find yourself laughing very frequently. All the actors were on their top game and were cast perfectly to fit their characters. Without reveling any details for those who haven't seen it, I wish they had not cut so many characters or changed the story-line when the book accomplishes a perfect flow. I feel now that certain details will be left out of the coming movies which were important. Also the new scenes were almost unnecessary and more detail could have been put into other parts instead. Still, after seeing it opening night (12 am of course) I was wishing last night that I could watch it again. Definitely a must see in the saga!

I was very disappointed in this movie. I expected it to be more of a build up to furthering the story. It did not go into many of the necessary details that are needed to help Harry fight/destroy Riddle. There was no emphasis on the Potions Book and the dangers of it. The story line was also very choppy. I realize the movies cannot follow the books exactly, but I felt it could have done it a bit more than it did. I did not understand the opening and I was disappointed in the ending. I was entertained the entire 2 1/2 hours, but it was an entirely different story/movie than I had hoped for and expected. My least favorite of the 6 movies out. It did not live up to the usual standards of the Harry Potter movies.

This best one out of all the movies. It had enough humor and serious events to please everyone. Then end was sad but if you have read the books you were ready for that anyway. I reccommend that everyone see this movie.

I loved this movie. Yes, it left out some parts I would have liked to see and yes it didn't have quite the dark feel I was looking for with HBP . . . However, it had plenty to make up for all of that. The add-ins fit nicely with the story as they have with each movie. The look of the film was magic. And if for no other reason, at least these movies are trying to be great. Most movies nowadays are just sad. So, to have a film franchise that keeps getting better with each one rather than worse (I'm talking to you Spider-man) is great in itself. Thank goodness for Harry Potter.
