I did like the movie and was shocked at the beginning how much was cut from the book. It was a great movie anyway. I did jump out of my seat a bit in the cave. OMG!!! that let me know not to take my grandson to go see it it would scare the bejeepers out of him . I cried just like I did with the book. I hate bellatrax . nuff said. DO NOT MISS THIS MOVIE you wont be sorry I am going back. and I never go to movies i always wait for dvds.Not this one.

This was the best Harry Potter yet. There were some great parts in the book that got skipped in the movie - but you can't have a 6 hour film, either. I thought they did an excellent job getting the point of the story across without being bound to the novel. The new scenes did a lovely job carrying the tale where it needs to be to start the Deathly Hallows. And I really enjoyed having a few things in the movie that I didn't see coming.

They turned a great book into a teen-love story and only minimal wizardry thrown in which was pretty bad. The acting has gotten a lot worse and a lot less convincing that they even care what is going on. The final battle scene was cut which killed the movie. Dumbledore should be happy that he died before the movie was completely ruined.

Was at least half an hour longer than it needed to be--of course all the effects were awesome and visually wonderful. Movie was not as exciting as many of the other previous movies and seemed to drag on at times. First time ever found myself checking my watch several time during a Harry Potter movie.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, after a bit of a slow start. Every time I noticed breaks in the story, I just reminded myself that it's really hard to make a movie from a 600-page book. The director caught the main points. I do love the characters, so I smiled and waved every time someone appeared on screen the first time. It was a bit strange to not see Kreacher, Dobby, Voldemort or Trelawney, and Neville appeared on screen several times but never spoke.

It has been a long time since I've attended a movie and the whole audience responeded so enthusiastically! Everyone laughed, cried, even jumped out of the seats at pieces of the movie. Everyone even stood and applauded the ending. Sadly a beloved character died and I had to spend some time talking to my children about it after the film (I did warn them that parts of the movie would be sad before hand). I am a little confused about why they set the Burrow on fire in the movie that wasn't part of the book and it will affect The Deathly Hollows film also. But overall it was a wonderful film!

My ten year old son and I cannot figure out why in the world they have decided to deviate from the books. The first two movies did a pretty good job of sticking to the basic storyline, but the further they have gotten (around movie #4) the director/producers decided to change things - and not just little things either. Great adaptation for the most part, though there were some parts blantantly missing (such as Harry and Ginny's first kiss after the quidditch victory). Overall, though-the characters were terrific, scenery was great as usual, and while I don't normally like movies to be more than 2 hours, the time flew by. My 8 1/2 year old son didn't think it was long at all. He also said it's his favorite movie so far, even though he didn't like this book as much (not enough action in the book for him!) Great movie!!

This HP movie was good, mainly because it was a HP movie. However, I thought this one fell short of some of the others. (I would rate 3 or 4 of the first 5 movies as being better than this one.) Perhaps it's because the book was so fantastic. Naturally, the movie couldn't include all the things the book did; otherwise it would've been 6 hours long. However, I would've placed more concentration on some areas and less on others. This movie had both touching funny moments as well as fantastic special effects we've come to expect from this series. However, it was not what I expected. I'm not sure quite what I was expecting, but afterward I like that this movie wasn't quite it. If you're a Potter fan though, it's still a must see.

We went with a variety of people, some who knew the books well, some who had only read them once and some who only followed the movies. Those who knew the books well, were able to follow no problem. Those who only ready them once had questions to who some characters were--including Lavander Brown and Fenrir Greyback. Those who only knew the movies had to have things explained afterwards. Luckily I was one who knew the books well so I had no problem. There was more humor than what I expected which Dan and Rupert did a great job in. All in all, I would see it again.

Excellent! Although of course there were things left out, it was very well done, and followed the story line pretty well. They also made sure to emphasize things that will be important in the next movies. I laughed in many places, and even cried in a couple, even though I knew what was coming. I thought the acting was wonderful, particularly Alan Rickman, and I loved seeing Harry, Ron and Hermione going through all that teenage angst. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!

Not having the funeral for Dumbledore left the movie wanting in the end. Just having the the last scene in the tower was left weak without it. The book and the movie were out of character from the previous ones where the stories ended more complete with a few loose ends.

i was disappointed. They could have done a better job of sticking to the book if they didn't waste the start of the film and end end making up their own parts. and what happened to the fight at the end??? My husband has not read the books and was confused as to what happened to Dumbledore 's hand...i had to explain a lot after we went and saw it yesterday.

The Half-Blood Prince was my favorite Harry Potter book so it would've been hard to meet my expectations. I thought the movie was fantastic, there were a few awkward attempts at humor that didn't really fit. I was disappointed to not see some of my favorite moments from the book cut out of the movie, but I do realize they can't fit everything in. I think Alan Rickman is a true asset to the cast of these movies.

Harry Potter HBP was so well done! I really enjoyed it! Even my 60yr old mother loved it(she has not read the books) The 2 1/2 hrs just flew by.....It kept me intersted the entire time.

I did not enjoy Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. While I understand that movies sometimes have to stray from the story in the book for filming purposes, I feel like this movie was nothing like the book. Yes, some of the parts were out of the book, but as a whole, the movie did not follow the book. The first 5 movies were much better at following the story line from the books, so I was very disappointed when I watched this one to see that it was nothing like the others. It was a good movie, if you haven't read the book. If you have read the book, be prepared to constantly tell yourself "That's not how it happened in the book" or "I don't remember that happening in the book."
No, I do not recommend this movie.

What an awesome interpretation of the book! In the past, I have come out of the theater to answer some questions about what was going on, by my non book reading friend. This movie didn't pose any questions!! Sure, things were left out, but the 2 1/2 hour film was the perfect length!

This installment of the Harry Potter movies was very enjoyable. It did follow the book, but not as closely as others had. You can recognize key moments in the movie, but there are some major points that should have been hit. Neville was supposed to have a lot more play, but instead ended up serving drinks. I agree that the end did fizzle out a bit. I can only hope that Deathly Hallows will make up for the lacking story line in HBP. I did enjoy the movie overall. The effects were great and I did laugh a lot. I liked how the attitudes of the students has changed from child to adult. A good time for all.
