The performance by Heath was remarkable. Worth seeing just for his performance. This performance would have been the one to catapult him into that "mega" star category. Great movie overall, great actors, good plot. Very dark (which I like), but would not recommend for young children.

This movie is very intense - with great effects! Be sure to watch closely or you'll miss something important! I will be going back to catch all the little details! Only one thing bothered me - Batman looks like he's been sucking his thumb too long! Can Christian Bale not afford orthodontia?? (His voice is a little silly too)

I am a fan of these kinds of movies, love all the movies based on comic books and old TV shows, but this took the cake.
It is so exciting to watch and the acting is superb and makes others pale in comparison.
Heath Ledger, of course, gave us such a talented performance.
I just couldn't get enough, so sad he has left us and will not return for the sequel.

Everything for Nolan's writing right down to the demented cackle of Ledger's Joker was nothing short of a masterpiece. Heath Ledger breathed new life into the Joker and created the Dark Knight's most terrifying Villain to date. Christian Bale delivers another stellar performance as Batman, but the show goes to Joker because of the atmosphere and chaos that he brings to the world of Gotham City.
A true must see for anyone, whether you have or have not seen previous installments of the series.

The movie was the best I have seen in years an all together great movie. Had all the elements of a great movie it had the plot twists of Oceans 11, the huge action of Transformers, forbidden fruit love plot, and at the edge of your seat suspense.

I give this movie a 103 rating on the male octane scale. The premise was a lot darker than previous films. The stunts and effects were amazing, especially considering little CGI was used. Heath Leger's performance was amazing. Quit reading this and go see it. 'Nuff said.

Dark Knight was amazing. I was hesitant about Heath Ledger's performance as well as "yet another batman movie," but Dark Knight was cleverly written, the direction was perfect, there was action, romance, and much more.
No need to worry about another mediocre film - Dark Knight is simply perfect. Possibly the best movie I've seen in years. The characters were captivating and deep, the plot was never boring, and the Joker provided not only critical conflicts, but comic relief as well. I couldn't have asked for more.

Took my 8 and 9 yo sons, the violence didnt bother them, did seem to lose them in the middle when there wasnt as much action, but they loved the movie as did I.
Ledger was excellent as was Bale, didnt care so much for Maggie as Rachel, but would go see again this time in IMAX!

From the old time Adam West Batman, to the Tim Burton gothic Batmans, to the two Schumacher toy Batmans, to Batman Begins, we have seen Batman take on many forms over the years. This is The Dark Knight, this is the story over merchandise, and character development over camp. This brings us closer to the mentality of Batman, Gordon, and the rest than we've ever seen before on live action film. At two and a half hours, many have said it, and it's all true, The Dark Knight is the measuring stick to these type of movies, even surpassing it being one of the best movies this year. It is Story wise, acting wise, action wise, and of course the best Batman movie so far.

The most exhilarating and captiving movie I have seen at the theater or at home. I only regret thatHeath will not be able to reprise the best role of his career. It is truly a loss for Batman fans. Chriatian Bale IS the Dark Knight, and his protrayal is without a doubt the personification of the Batman. There was not a lag nor a dull moment and the desire to see it again and again is undeniable. I can't wait to see

As a young boy I have always been a fan of the Batman movies. Even though many of the prequels and sequels seem unenthusiastically created. I do believe that the first two batman movies were the best acted and directed.... That's until the two latest Batman movies with Christian Bale have been released. The Dark Knight is a film that not only will keep you at the edge of your seat, but have you gasping for air. The scenes with Batman (Christian Bale) and The Joker (Heath Ledger) are so incredibly intense you do not have a chance to relax. Even if you get comfortable another explosion occurs. This movie is marketed as a blockbuster, but it will be one of the finest movies ever done becuase of the three male leads Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, and Aaron Eckhart. Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker has surpassed critics expectations, as well as the publics. He is a man who has invented a Joker that is sadistic, tormented, and sarcastic. This movie is absolutely a written story made into cinematic art. Go watch this movie for everything it is and more. Who wants to miss a movie with the greatest superheroes and villains ever brought to film history. I liked it so much I am watching it again. This is worth every dollar. So Check in, seat down , and enjoy!!!

i saw it the day it opened and it lived up to the hype completely. the villain duo created great action sequences and story lines. the jokers pranks (if they can be called pranks) were well thought out and devious to say the least. christian bale comes back with a great performance as batman and fits the part perfectly yet again. heath ledger absolutely made the movie with his performance as the joker. creepy and scary at points, yet entertaining without a doubt. great movie!!

It was a great movie! Heath Ledger portrayed the Joker as a very dark and twisted person, which I think is exactly how he should be. Christian Bale also did a great job, but Heath Ledger completely outshone him! I was waiting for a year to see this movie, and it was absolutely worth it!

This absolutely has to be one of the best comic movies ever made. Starting with the performance given by the late Heath Ledger. At times I forgot he was an actor playing a role, he was simply superb. Bale also does a fantastic job playing the hero once again, along with the rest of his supporting cast. I would have to say that biggest surprise came from actor Aaron Eckhart playing the role of Harvey Dent, be forewarned once he undergoes a certain transformation. I can't say enough on how great the movie experience was .....even seeing it from the second row.

I was not looking forward to this movie at all and had to be dragged to see it by the people that I attended with. I must say that I need to open my mouth and insert foot, this movie was excellent!!! Not ever seeing a Batman movie or really knowing a lot about it, I was very impressed. This movie had an excellent story line and wonderful actors that were truly perfect for the part. The movie was action packed from the first minute and carried throughout the movie.

After being extremely disappointed with all batmen after Michael Keaton, Christian Bale finally did the character justice. His "bat-voice" can get a little annoying with it being so raspy but this movie had incredible special effects and the score and cinematography has set the bar higher for all action movies.

This was the quickest 2.5 hour movie I have seen. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. It doesn't have the feeling of a cheesy superhero flick. It has a great storyline that has a realistic feel to it. Words cannot describe the wide range actor that Heath Ledger was. He was more than excellent as the diabolical Joker.

I thought that Dark Knight was, if not the best movie that I have ever seen, then easily top 5. It was the picture of the year, and definitely the best superhero movie ever. It featured a stunning screenplay, incredible action, and gripping scenes. I was literally on the edge of my seat the whole time. Not only was Heath Ledger the best Joker ever, but he was the best character portrayal by any actor for any character. Don't let him overshadow the rest of the cast, because everyone was masterful. Christian Bale was captivating once again as Bruce Wayne and as Batman, and the dynamic between Joker and Batman could not have been better. Aaron Eckhart was awesome as Harvey Dent/Two Face and of course the rest of the cast, Maggie Gylenhaal, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman. A must-see movie for sure!
