The Dark Night is the most intense comic book movie I have ever seen. Heath Ledgers "The Joker", is absolutly outstanding and deserves to be labeled one of the best villans on the big screen.

dont get me wrong, I thought the movie was really really good, but i think the special effects and tricks were messy. if you pay REALLY close attention Batman and the others did a lot of really cool tricks/stunts. if you were passively watching the movie you missed a lot of them. of course the movie had to be dark with a lot of grey and black, but that made it harder to see what was going on and my friends and i missed all kinds of cool stuff that happened. only on comparing notes did we realize how much we missed. I am all for dark themed movies, but you miss a lot of stuff you think is background when all of the people are wearing black in a dark room. the fight and action scenes would have been better with a bit more contrast in the movie.
of course i loved it like everyone else in my group, but it didnt electrify me and hype me up like i usually get from action movies, so i just wasnt as impressed.

Action movies are definatly not my favorite genre, but the action in Dark Knight was amazing. It was perfect, from the very first scheme the Joker pulls to the very last confrontation, it's just so clever you're looking over at your friend going "Damn!"
Maggie Gyllenhaal is very believable as Rachel, much better than Katie Holmes.
Christian Bale is not my favorite Batman/Bruce of all time, but he does well too. His Bruce is pretty funny as a clueless playboy.
Aaron Eckhart is a great Harvy Dent standing up for justice, very inspiring. It'll be interesting to see if he plays two-face in a next movie.
Gary Oldman as Lt. Gordon I thought was great, he showed great talent and doesn't get enough attention for his role.
And, of course, Heath Ledger. He was psychotic, witty, scary, funny, clever... brilliant. His Joker was EXACTLY as I would imagine a villian of that nature to be in real life. Convincing, gripping, powerful. If you have to die an untimely, tragic death, this is the legacy you want to leave behind.

The Dark Knight was disturbing on so many levels. It was not good vs evil. It was just evil and it just keeps going and going... I am sorry that I contributed to the movies bottom line.

The hype didn't drown out this crime drama and it exceeded expectations. The movie definitely revolved around Heath Ledger playing a demented Joker, with people just wondering what he would do next. The Dark Night goes darker following Batman Begins with both going away from the kiddy Batmans of the past. Great movie but hovering over an "R" rating.

CNN was a central character in this movie, fanning the fires of fear. Great performances by Gary Oldman, Heath Ledger, Maggie Gyllenhaal. Amazing what a good director can do with a good cast.

Definitely the best superhero movie of our time. It barely even feels like the typical superhero movie we've come to see every summer; it tries to push the boundaries of the genre to bring something much more real and more engaging. It's not the campy, hyper-surreal Batman of Burton's, but a down-to-earth, serious take on the superhero that puts us in a world not so unlike our own and causes us to think about our world in the context of a comic book character (something that is generally, and sadly, lost when comic books are transferred to the big screen). Some of the acting by a few of the performers left something to be desired (Eckhart, Gyllenhaal), and some scenes seemed to be cut short in order to stay within the 2 1/2 hour time frame, but regardless this has to be one of the most original comic book adaptions I've seen made in the past 20 years. Legder gets as close to Hannibal Lector-insane as the PG-13 rating lets him, and was fun to watch (watch for the pencil trick). Bale is still the best Bruce Wayne so far, and still manages to bring that important contrast between his two alter-egos. Caine and Freeman are still fun to listen to, and Oldman's even better in this movie than he was in Batman Begins. Much better than its predecessor (which I found to just be a darker rendition of movies past).

It was chilling watching the new batman. Not just because of the ambiance of the movie, but because of a feeling of watching a great actor who allowed himself to get to deep within the character.
Keith Ledger did an amazing job as the joker, making this the best Batman yet to date, and maybe the best super hero movie out there.
It is not so much a movie for the kids, but it is one that all paths of life will enjoy. Christopher Nolan has raised the bar, doing a great job on resurrecting a much needed series of batman. This is definately a must see and we can expect to see more good movies like this in the future.

I loved it! I can't remember the last time i walked out of the theater and thought to myself, "now that was worth the $10." The action sequences were great, Ledger was an amazing joker, even more sinister and menacing than Nicholson.
If there was any part of the movie that I would have liked to see different it would have been a different lead actress. Gyllenhaal is NOT sexy enough in my opinion. She actually looked too old to be winning over the hearts of Bale and Eckhart (both of which are super sexy). That whole dynamic with her just kind of weirded me out. She is no Katie Holms.

This movie was jam-packed with action and special effects. Heath Ledger's acting was compelling and it forever changed the way I will look at the Joker. He was darker than the clowning Joker that we were so familiar with. Oscar worthy!!!! I would absolutely recommend it to my friends.

I thought this movie was unbelievably good. It was perfectly filmed. It was excellently acted. I would recommend to anyone to go see it. I woulnd't recommend younger children though. It's too intense!! I loved it and want to see it again.

While this was a good movie with lots of action it wasn't what I expected. With all the Joker/Ledger hype I was expecting to see much more of him. He was not seen nearly enough in the movie to live up to the Oscar worthy performance hype. It was good by all means but not great.

this movie was really great! i enjoyed the story, it was long but awesome to see how everything unfolded. the actors are amazing, really stepped into their characters, especially the Joker and Harvey Dent! ...I strongly recommend this movie, and i'll probably buy it when it becomes available =)

Hands down, this was the best Batman movie ever made. Heath Ledger did an incredible job of portraying The Joker. Maggie Gyllenhaal was a bit of a disappointment. I think they could have brought in a more attractive love interest. The acting was lacking on her part as well. Everything else was outstanding.
