The movie was okay ... I'm not a big Batman fan, so that's why I'm saing it was just okay. The three guys I went with said it was one of the best movies they had seen. Don't go if you are tired - it's a long movie!

The Dark Knight is a roller coaster of a movie. Once you think its over, you are headed up another steep drop and you are not disappointed. Definitely dark and not for children. The Academy Award hype for Heath Ledger is no hype but all truth. He is an awesome, tortured, dark Joker.

I have always been excited for the new batman movie. When I went to go see, I was blown away. Heath ledger did a amazing job as the joker and there were cool effects.

Bought tickets on a whim to see The Dark Knight yesterday evening; wow!
First, I would definitely recommend seeing this flick on IMAX/Ultrascreen...the large format makes the movie that much more immersive.
Second, I was very impressed with the story. A few words I would use to describe the movie: dark, fast-paced, humorous, witty, sad, surprising and action-packed!
Third, I can't imagine a better (or more totally different) role for Heath Ledger to "go out on" after his untimely death. No typecasting of him here...more often than not it was hard to remember who was playing "The Joker."
Fourth, three cheers for Maggie Gyllenhaal...she is SUCH a better actress and better fit for this series than the vapid Katie Holmes.
Fifth, just go see the movie. If you didn't like Batman Begins you probably won't like this one, but the story is so well put together and moves along so well you should see it anyway.

What a movie! The cast did an excellent job with special kudos to Heath Ledger. Its such a shame such a talented actor has passed away! The whole story line was very capitivating and kept the entire audience glued to their seats. No one even left for the restroom! The action sequenses were an absolute blast! I would recommend getting this movie on Blu-Ray when does come out!

this was great! Joker was perfect in appearance, sadistically hilarious, and just like the Jack Nicholson version, he stole the show!
2Face looked magnificent. this was my only dissappointment, that they didnt stretch out his character any further than 1/2 a movie. yet they may surprise me in #3. masterful job of unfolding the new characters & yet leaving suspenseful settings for #3. i may well pay to see it again at the theater.

I am in the minority in saying that this movie fell a bit short of my expectations. Yes it is packed with action, explosions, drama, all that. I feel Batman Begins is a far superior film. To me, Heath Ledger saved this film. I find it VERY hard to believe that Rachels character was an object of desire, and since this is a key part of the story, it hurt the film. Maggie is just plain ugly. And she looks 50 years old. Bale was great as expected, but there were spots where I was questioning the beliveability of the tech used by Batman. Not a big deal in a movie that is coming across as strictly fantasy, but the delivery of DK is meant to feel real, and makes the small sticking points that much more magnified. I would definately recommend this film, but do not agree that it was the best hero movie of the summer. Viva la Tony Stark.

**Leave the kiddies at home!**
There was no doubt in my mind this would be an amazing film. Every film to which Christopher Nolan has applied his steady hand has been incredible. My least favorite was "Insomnia," and for what it was intended to be, it was great.
With "Dark Knight," however, Nolan achieves a new level of greatness. The sixth installment in the Batman franchise builds on and expands the sheer genius that was the fifth movie. It appears that the Batman franchise has been rescued from the brink.
From the moment the Joker appears, "Dark Knight" has you in its grip. I heard two comic book nerds complaining about the opening sequence, that it was too "Bourne Identity" and not enough "Batman." I disagree. The opening scene is entirely crucial to the story of the Joker, without which he could not have achieved his goal.
Is "The Dark Knight" a masterpiece? Absolutely. Does Heath Ledger's performance warrant a posthumous Oscar nod? Most likely, but I won't claim to be an expert on Oscar predictions. What I do know is that Christopher Nolan has ascended to the level of master director, and will be forever counted among the greats.
What strikes me most is his ability to create a so-called "dark" film in broad daylight, achieving a level of murkiness that probably has Tim Burton sobbing nightly into his pillow. Tim Burton makes quirky movies. Christopher Nolan is a filmmaker. I can honestly say that the prestigious mantle of the cape and cowl has finally fallen on the right person.

This movie lived up to all of the hype. I can't see anyone not enjoying the experience. The casting was incredible and there wasn't a dull moment in the movie. I can't remember when such a long movie went by so quickly.

I never thought any of the Batman movies after the first Batman (with Michael Keaton) would ever be better, but The Dark Knight is the BEST! It is actually the best movie I have seen in a LONG time. It has it all: A great story line (where you never can guess what is going to happen next), great actors, and great action. Everyone must see this movie!!

Great acting, even better story and plot, action-packed. You name it, The Dark Knight has it all. This is a thought-provoking, grim, and dark psychological tale of the Caped Crusader. As you may know, this movie is not for young kids or even for those under the age of 13 for that matter. This is due not only to the violence but also because the younger audiences may not comprehend all of the psychology of the Joker or the movie's underlying themes. Without a doubt, the highlight of the movie was the stellar performance of Heath Ledger as the Joker. This movie lived up to all the expectations people had and even exceled. This is by far the best movie I have ever seen, no exaggeration. And I have seen a LOT of movies.

I thought The Dark Knight was very well written and directed. The acting was superb, especially Heath Ledger and Christian Bale. The ONLY things I didn't like were the cheesy looking "two-face" and Batman's heavy breathing when he was talking...they were a bit much. Other than that, totally worth it.

This movie was awesome and is now one of my favorite Batman movies of all time. It is a little graphic so be careful if you are taking little ones to see it. I would not take my 9, 6, or 5 year old nephew's to see it. The graphic violence is mild so if your kids can handle come graphically interpreted scenes they should be ok. This is the MUST SEE Movie of the summer if you are 13 or older! Absolutely FANTASTIC!!!
