It was definitely not what I expected as I am a huge Batman fan. However, the film has exceeded my expectations, far more than I thought it would. Heath Ledger’s performance as a terrorist psychopath that is the Joker was absolutely brilliant. Christian Bale as the Dark Knight was fantastic. The only disappointments were Rachel Dawes, whose performance I found very weak and the way Two-Face was portrayed. Despite those disappointments, I found this film definitely worth the $11-$12!! Great work!

I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The movie was action packed and there was never a dull moment. My heart was racing the entire time. Soooo Good - Highly recommended! :)

Of all the action movies this summer, "The Dark Knight" shines the brightest. While Heath Ledger is as outstanding as all the hype predicted, the rest of the cast is just as brilliant. While I wasn't a fan of "Batman Begins," this movie may have convinced me to watch the next installment. Definitely worth the price of full admission -- even IMAX price!

The script, penned by the Nolan brothers of Memento fame, have done it again. Thier vision of Gotham in despair, leaves the audience gasping for air during every Joker scene. Heath Ledger steals the screen and your breath.

I thought the last Batman movie was great but this was AWESOME! I had seen so many trailers of the movie and the hype with Heath Ledger but it completely surpassed what I thought. A definate repeat movie to see!!! Heath Ledger should definately win an award!

This was....by far, the best Batman movie I've seen to date. I'm not one who likes the whole action hero movies, but this one definitely caught my attention. The Joker just brings this movie alive. Great movie, totally recommend it!

Ledger is truly scary, but the speed and volume of plot and action become overwhelming after two-and-a-half hours. The Joker apparently has some kind of super power no-one has yet thought of: he can rig ferries, hospitals or anything else to explode with the help of only about ten guys, which, because they all die during the crimes (as often as not by the Joker's own hand), are fully resupplied from the Endless Supply of Joker Henchmen Area. There's a lot of that. A vehicle chase seems to take about half an hour. So there's a lot of that. Then, sucking up more time and breaking the tone of the picture, there's an ethical crisis over cellphone monitoring which amounts to a pointless late-game distraction. And what's with the way Christian Bale talks when he's wearing the suit--even when everybody in the room knows who he is? It's the darkest superhero movie ever made, which is an achievement, but it seems, to get the darkness past the Hollywood suits, the creators had satisfy a determination to produce the highest-yet volume of sound and spectacular, convincing the viewer they've been entertained by pummeling them into accepting the fact. Keep your expectations reasonable, and let Ledger scare the bejeesus out of you.

Heath Ledgers portrayal of the Joker was by far the best to date, but i not as stellar a performance as everyone else is making it seem. The rest of the movie was entertaining and funny at times. There were small things that were not caught or purposefully left in, but were not believable. Overall my feelings are that the movie critics hyped the movie up so much that the movie going public was expecting so much they were let down.
I would recommend this movie, but only as a matinee DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE.

I have to say, that although I am a lover of action flicks, I have never been into the Batman movies. THIS one, however, blew my socks off! I found the character development in the Joker really enjoyable, and disturbing at the same time. Ledger's character and his acting really made this movie one to see IN THE THEATERS!!!

It was good. Heath Ledger lived up to the hype. Not enough Christian Bale, too much Harvey Dent for my taste. It could have left out about 30 minutes of the story and been tighter and more exciting. Maggie G's character did not make any sense to me. Where did that character come from??? Can Batman have sex appeal??

I am not a fan of most "superhero" films. This is much more than that. There are surprises at every turn, the effects are spectacular, Christian Bale is the best Batman ever, and Heath Ledger's performance cannot be praised enough. I highly recommend this film to everyone EXCEPT children under 13. There are some seriously disturbing scenes that will give younger children nightmares for sure. I can't stop thinking about this film. Go see it!

Ladies and gentlemen, The Dark Knight is worth the hype people are giving it. There are a handful of great superhero movies out there but this stands out from the rest. I believe this is because it didn't have any shred of a comic book feel (for the lack of a better term). It had a sense of realism that surpasses it's comic book movie counterparts including Batman Begins.
The acting was superb and totally on par with what is expected of a cast full of critically acclaimed actors. (Heath Ledger's performance showed me that the Oscar talk was well deserved.) It is my firm belief that even those who do not like comic books, or movies based on them, will like this movie.
