I thought The Dark Knight was an awesome movie, with absolutely phenomenal performances by all cast members that will go down as legendary, especially the late Heath Ledger. He is fantastically psychotic and very dangerous, and is, by far, the most disturbing Joker I have ever seen. Some of the Joker scenes actually made me cringe. Very realistic. Christian Bale delivers a great performance as Batman/Bruce Wayne and is absolutely stunning to watch. This movie is so intriguing and visually stimulating. By far the best movie I have ever seen. This is a must see for all, but wouldnt recommend it for smaller kids, of course. It is long, however, so bring those snacks. The Dark Knight is well worth every dime. I see Oscar noms in the future.... :)

By far the best movie of the year!! Heath Ledger is just phenomenal!! He has given a new face and profile to what we call the JOKER!! Just amazing!! Whoever fills his shoes in the sequel(if ever one) will have to bring a lot to the table..
Heath will be remembered for this!! God rest his soul..
This and the prequal, sets a new storyline to the Batman saga. A very refreshing, disturbing and different approach to the characters and setting. A must see to anyone who has ever heard about Batman!!!

This movie was amazing! I pre-purchased tickets for it but got there a little late so the only seats left were in the very first row which should have been so awful but the movie was so good I didn't care. I am going to see this movie again hopefully on IMAX and when it comes out on dvd i will certainly buy it. It was very entertaining and although the Joker is a villain, at times, he appealed to me more than Batman himself.

The technical production was excellent except for the special effects at the end- the Batman cell phone spying thing was not very clear and often confusing.
Acting was very good- Ledger and Bale- Joker was superb. What a waste of talent in his death.
Plot is very dark and definitely not for under 12 age. Too many nightmares for those who get into the intensity and also those with a fear of clowns- stay away.
Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine were great- needed to see more of them in the plot.

as a lifelong batman fan and avid fan of 'knight's predecessor, "batman begins" i've anticipated this film for the past year. it did not disappoint on any level. outstanding performances throughout, especially ledger, who deserves an academy award for his haunting, yet deeply fascinating portrayal of the joker. you cant take your eyes off of him. bale once again turns in a terrific performance as gotham citys' dark knight. this film has all of the elements of a great superhero movie, combined with the intensity of a modern mob film such as "the departed" or "goodfellas" along with the especially dark almost "se7en"-like tone set by director christopher nolan. Dark knight is a definate must see and one of the best movies ive seen over the last 10 years

Wow I am not the kind of mom that likes shoot em up blow em up movie person but I went with my 16 yr old boy and my 10 yr old girl and this was really a good movie the effects are wonderful. It was a little long but worth it..

I thought it was to long, & to complicated. There was the Hong Kong money launderer, Italian mafia, black mafia, thug ring leaders, etc etc, all of which had very poor character development for a 2 1/2 hr movie. The new Rachel Dawes was not as good, and Frankly Batmans throaty voice was getting a little boring. Heath Ledger was AWESOME & the character of the Joker was terrific.
Harvey 2 face was in the 1st Batman movie & did not belong here again as his characters death does not fit any timeline that may have been attempted to tie previous movies together.
My Opinion: Batman Begins was the best, most plausible story in the series.
Heath Ledgers role of the Joker however even upstaged the Batman himself.
Conclusion... Entertaining & fun, But too long & could have been done much better !

They are really doing a great job with this franchise. The movie was incredible. The pace was perfect... and I hope it's not spoiling anything, but just when it was safe to wrap up the film.... the action just keeps on going.
See it in IMAX if you can, the $10 is probably the best money I've ever spent on a movie ever.

My daughter raved about this movie. I enjoyed it, but not the best I have seen. I actually liked Wanted better. This one was a little long and more complex than it needed to be for me. But' I'm glad I experienced it.

The hype on this movie was too much for any movie. Having said that, it is by far the best movie of the year and Joker was nothing short of phenominal... His pencil trick was a tone setter for his character.
The first 3/4 of the movie was the best, the last quarter could have been better.
Still, a great movie that deserves a lot of praise.

BUT, it was a little too long, the hero a little too behind the eight ball, the assistant DA unconvincing as a love interest and jeeze, did the Bat Man's grating over modulated voice ever get on my nerves. HL carried the movie as much as Jack N. did in the previous Joker role...

There are certain staples, things you expect to see in every "superhero" movies: the convoluted Evil Plot; the villainous monologue; the long, continuous action scenes.
If you don't like these things, find them boring or irritating, do us a favor: stay away from The Dark Knight.
Batman Begins was arguably the darkest of the genre, exploring duality of character, the underlying shadow of us all, and the lines we draw to keep ourselves sane. But if Batman Begins explored the line between genius and madness, The Dark Knight happily skips over that line and plunges into the frightening world of the cheerfully insane, the world of gleeful anarchy and flippantly horrific. Edgar Poe, Alfred Hitchcock, and H.P. Lovecraft dipped into this world, and Stephen King and Clive Barker after them. The Dark Knight takes from those legacies and shows the (relatively realistic) manifestation of those ephemeral nightmares. And though the entire cast delivers stunning and compelling performances, really, it all hinges on the Joker.
There's been Oscar buzz about Heath Ledger's performance in this movie, and I admit, I thought it had to do with his tragic, untimely death. For that, I must sincerely apologize to Mr. Ledger's spirit, wherever he and it may be. Only upon a second viewing was I able to see Heath Ledger beneath the Joker, and even then only in parts and only with scrutiny. In no way, at no time, does the Joker walk, talk, or gesture like Ennis Del Mar or Jacob Grimm. Patrick Verona makes no appearance in this film. This portrayal of this character is entirely unique ... and bone-chillingly frightening. Though the Joker -- true to his name -- laughs throughout the film, dropping puns and paying homage to pop culture, the audience never joined in with anything heartier than a nervous chuckle. His was a brand of humor tinged with an unhealthy socio-pathology. Though his 'magic trick' was funny, no one laughed at it.
Yes, the movie runs on a little long. Yes, the plot is a little complicated. Yes, the villain(s) monologue and posture. Yes, Bruce and Batman -- and everyone else -- take a backseat to the Joker. Yes, this movie is too violent and too dark for young children (They really mean the "13" in PG-13).
None of those things matter. At the end of this film, you won't be talking about how long it was, or how much the evil minions talked, or how there was too much going on. You'll be chilled and wide-eyed with awe, breathlessly anticipating Christopher Nolan's next installment.

I have seen previous Heath Ledger performances but none can even come close to his portrayal of the Joker. From his mannerisms, to his voice, to his costume and makeup, he literally BECAME the joker in this film. I am quite certain there will never be another villain performance that will come anywhere near the level this blessed, talented actor took it to.
On a side note, I feel Christian Bale's voice was bit too raspy but played the character well.
Also, two-face was a good role, however, the makeup seemed a bit extreme. They portrayed the different layers in the face and the muscles extremely well, however I feel as though they could have taken it back a notch to make it look more realistic.
Overall, one of the best films I have seen in years. Much credit goes to Heath Ledger for his character role, but the entire cast acted very well together to create an unforgettable summer blockbuster.

If you are a Batman junkie, this movie is for you. If you are an action hero or superhero junkie this movie is for you. If you are a chick flick junkie this movie is for you. It doesn’t matter who you are, this movie is for you. Don’t bother to wait for it to hit DVD’s, go to your theatre this second, stand in line for an hour, buy a ticket and prepare to be blown away. Three years seemed a long wait after Batman Begins, but now I can’t seem to muster the patience to wait five months till I can own it on DVD. Best movie this year. Heath Ledger’s performance as the harbinger of death and chaos is alone worth every penny and every second devoted to this film. Four out of Four Serious Stars.

My boyfriend made me see this movie with him. I didn't have any idea what to expect because I've never seen Batman Begins or any of the cartoons. But I loved it! It was a little hard for me to follow in the beginning but that's just because I was clueless about Batman. Great acting, great movie!

I would have given this movie 5 stars but the "manly" voice that Christian Bale uses while Batman made me almost laugh. He sounded like Clint Eastwood.
But besides that, this movie was awesome. Ledger did an amazing job playing Joker. Truly crazy!!!! And I actually preferred Maggie Gyl over Katie Holmes in the role of Rachel.
Overall, two thumbs up!!

It's not the masterpiece people want to believe it is, but it's a solid, solid flick. Some plot holes were a little too much for me to overlook, and for a series that prides itself on realism, Two Face's CGI was a little cartoonish. Ledger actually exceeded expectations - I dare say it's one of the (if not the) best acting job I've ever seen. Simply amazing -- you forget it's him.
Excellent pacing for a 2.5 hr movie (didn't feel that long), and the action scenes are top notch. Oldman is also on his usual game here, disappearing into a role that was really the most "human" of all in the film. Bale was acceptable, although the Batman voice is really just distracting, and Eckhart did better than I expected him to.
A solid film that really belongs to Ledger -- took an already iconic villain and basically reset the standard. People will no longer think of Jack when they think of the Joker ... this one's for the ages.

Best Batman movie ever, Heath Ledger was incredible. Never a dull moment, it achieved perfection if not came as close as possible.
