This is a great movie! The cast is excellent. I really hope the cast is same for the next Batman movie. Christan Bale is the best Batman to date!!! The studio would be very wise to keep him as Batman!!!! Heath Ledger's performance was great...you didn't even know it was him. This is by far the best movie of the year! LOVED It!!!

I don't normally watch these action hero movies, but I went with my son because he wanted to see it and I was very impressed. Both main actors did a great job but Heath's performance was remarkable.

The movie is not as good as people are making it out to be, I feel the movie is good, not great. The performance by Heath Ledger as the Joker was outstanding, Bale as Batman and particularly as Bruce Wayne is a different story. I felt Bale was the worst Batman so far in any movie. Batman's voice is especially very annoying. A lot of the special effects looked really fake, especially the helicopter crashing to the ground.
The story line is very good and the Jokers mindset as a Criminal was very very different in an entertaing type of way.
Unfortunately, I feel the success at the box office has to do more with Ledgers death than the movie itself.

The Dark Knight is rated well for violence and anger. If you enjoy special effects, they were very well done, especially the pyrotechnics and the chase scenes.
Heath Ledger was amazing as the joker, a villain you wanted to like despite his despicable manner and menacing exterior. He stayed in character throughout the movie and his performance really stole the show. Christian Bale was only mildly entertaining as Batman, though his character was fairly true to the old original dark comic figure. Maggie Gyllenhall was not believable as the former girlfriend of Batman and current girl of the district attorney. She did not appear to be as confused about her feelings as she should have been. After all, Batman and the attorney were in several scenes with her and she did not appear to be in any real dilemma. Michael Caine was wonderful as Alfred.
The movie was thoroughly enjoyable despite the few character problems!

The Dark Knight is not only going on my list as favorite movie of the year, but on my list for one of my favorite movies of all time. I have always been quite a fan of the Batman universe, so I was thrilled when it escaped from the campy 'ick' of Batman and Robin and returned to it's dark roots. As always, the usual cast delivers phenomenally, but let's face it, I went to see Heath Ledger as The Joker.
If nothing else, this film will forever be known as the peak of Heath's legacy, when he departed from the constraints of the mainstream and the bland and really took it to the limit. His performance as The Joker was in so many words, impressive, frightening, disturbing, genuine and absolutely stunning. No one will ever be able to replace Mr. Ledger in this role and I wouldn't want it any other way.
I'll watch this movie, Again and Again, for years to come.

Christopher Nolan's movie making and story telling never disappoints!! He's the best director of our time! I can truly say i was sitting at the edge of my sit not knowing what was going to happen next, throughout the entire movie. And the absence of music in a lot of intense scene just eats at your anxiety, kinda like in "I am Legend". I love this new batman series the best, but sometimes i cant help but laugh at Batman's "disguised" voice. Heath Ledger stole the show!! Amazing performance, i couldn't get enough of the joker! Twistedly funny and still makes you cringe at the anticipation of what he's gonna do next. Batman is a basket case in this movie, sometimes a little too weak and puny for my taste, i wish he were a little more of a hard-as... but he's still BATMAN!!

this movie was very good, Although Long it gave you exactly what you went to see it for. Hieth Ledger(Joker) was amazing, Christian's(Batman) voice when disguised as batman was pretty dark, almost villian like. The movie overall was very, very good and I can't wait to see it again.

This movie was better than Batman Begins. I'm glad that the batman movies have become more dark and adult oriented rather than overdone and childlike such as in the past. I do think that it dragged ever so slightly and the two face character didn't work. Overall it was very entertaining and I would recommend this movie to my friends and family.

Best Batman Movie I have seen so far. It was a little too long, but every actor played their part to the Tee. Heath Ledger was outstanding, hopefully he will win an Academy Award for his portrayal of the JOKER. He was the best Joker in my opinion. I like the way they didn't really show the violent scenes even though I had my eyes closed in case they did. It is a family oriented film. The kids should love it.

This movie had not one dull moment. Creative, cunning, chaotic, & thrilling. And Heath did such a good job... I am so sad he passed away. He had so much potential. Some might make fun of Christian Bale's voice or complain about the length of the movie, but I think it was exquisite in every way.

This is a movie which takes the critical viewer from serious enjoyment of real creepiness (the Joker) to yawning boredom and a general glazing over, not to mention partial deafness from the pounding, no-relief score. Batman in his preposterous costume might as well be my neighborhood tree-trimmer. It's TOO LONG! We should be able to leave the theatre wanting more, not feeling exhausted. Having said that, the only person worth watching besides Heath Ledger was Gary Oldman.

Trully the Casablanca....Godfather.... of its time. Ledger is untouchable, remarkable, even inhumane - no man could surpass his twist on the Joker's evil character. The Dark Knight is the tough, dark Batman movie we've all been waiting for - separating itself from childish super hero stereotype & launching itself into an all new genre. The Joker, especially, has never been so evil, dark, & twisted and for that matter neither has any other Batman movie. Batman is shown as merely a normal man with the money and willingness to do what is right. The Joker: a hellbent, violent, unforgiving criminal who shows no regard for any rule of any kind.

I love Batman anyway, but add Heath Ledger's Joker to the mix and it made one incredible movie. I just kept looking at him in complete amazement and thinking about what a wonderful, talented person we all lost. You can't watch the movie without getting wrapped up in his acting skills--let alone the great cast, plot and action scenes that were tastefully done. I will see 2 more times before it leaves the theatres.

Excellent movie - a few 'goofy' scenes, but overall I enjoyed it a lot. Bale did a good job as Batman, Ledger ROCKED the Joker, and the twists in the movie were well done.
Tons of action, good twists, great shooting - a few superfluous buildings blown up, but overall a great way to spend $10 buck!

This movie had everything it needed: lots of action, a large cast, twists and turns, and a nice long (2 1/2 hour) ride. Sure, it was "dark" (hence the name), but I don't think it was at all as bleak as pre-movie buzz had led me to expect. A worthy successor to "Batman Begins" that, thanks to Ledger's inspired (but probably not Oscar-worthy) performance as the Joker, doesn't suffer from that movie's lackluster supervillains.

What a rush! , I have not experienced a thrill ride in a movie ever like this. Heath Ledger is truly a genius, my prediction is we will never see a joker performance like this ever again.
