So, I saw the midnight showing of The Dark Knight. All I can say is wow.. It definitely lived up to what I was hoping it would be and left me wondering if there will be more...
When Heath (the Joker) first came up on the screen it hit me then that, 'Wow, this guy really is dead'. When I first heard the news I was shocked but it was just like..it happened and then it passed by quickly. After seeing this movie, Heath's last, I can say that I feel a little more sad about his death. Better late than never?
His role was interesting to say the least, and I think he's part of the reason why the movie never got boring (for me anyway). I think he did a great job, and he certainly did what he wanted to do..keep his role as the Joker different from Jack Nicholson's part way back when.
The acting was superb (not just from Ledger of course), and it was even darker than the first which I'm in favor of.
I definitely recommend this movie as a MUST SEE movie for the summer of '08, and if I'm able, I'm going to be seeing it again!

I loved the movie and can't wait to see it again. The character of the Joker was so demented he was frightening to the soul. I brought my 10yr old son with me and he was scared sometimes holding his hat over his face. Ledger should get the Oscar for this performance.

I have seen the Dark Knight three times now, the last time in an IMAX theater. Each time I see more things I missed. The story is fantastic and picks up right where Batman Begins left off. I loved Heath Ledger's Joker which most of the time you would never be able guess the actor under the makeup.

Dark Knight had humor, fear, and unpredictibility throught out the movie. It was the best movie this year, with a surprise ending. The hesitation of how scary psycologically it would be was not necessary as it was truly a sensational movie. I would recommend anyone who enjoys classic super heroes - whether young - teen - or adult to see this movie.

I was definitely not disappointed with the movie. I was very impressed by Heath Ledger's performance as a much darker version of the Joker. It's sad that this role affected him so terribly. Christian Bale's performance was impressive also, although a bit impersonal. Overall I really liked the movie and will probably buy it on DVD when it comes out!

I really enjoyed this movie, Heath Ledger's performance was absolutely stunning. I didn't know whether to laugh or to hide behind my hands, yet i couldn't look away.
The beginning of the movie was a little hard to follow, as it helps to watch Batman Begins before. But the movie has a good message about heroism, although to convey this message the ending was a little slow for me.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and would definitely see it again. I think multiple viewings are a must.

In a year where superhero movies are as common as a political commercial, The Dark Knight reigns supreme. The heroes and villains are actually three-dimensional, with substance and the visuals are amazing without becoming too over-the-top. The only let-down was the less-than-Gothic portrayal of Gotham City. That is what I really enjoyed in the earlier Batman movies. Still, an excellent movie!
Bale , Eckhart and, especially Ledger (who will more than likely receive a few posthumous awards) as the infamous Joker, all deliver with dead-on performances. Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine also deserve notable mention in their supporting roles.
The PG-13 rating is questionable with the amount of intense violence. Thirty years ago, this would have been an R-rated movie, so why it wasn't--especially in today's world--baffles me. Hopefully, this review will serve as a guide to parents and guardians of young teens who might be disturbed by the content of this motion picture.

Dark Knight is an extraordinary movie. The performances of the entire cast, even in the more minor roles were superb. The action was flawless and breathtaking. The time taken to develop the complexity of the lead characters and the various moral dilemmas was well worth it - and necessary as a respite from the otherwise relentless pace of the movie. As has been written so many times though, Heath Ledgers Joker was stunning. Truly a remarkable, brilliant performance. I was grabbed by him from his opening scene and he never let go. He was utterly believable as he whipped from likeable villain to merciless, evil terrorist.
Thank you Christopher Nolan and your cast of hundreds of people who helped you make this masterpiece come to life. Go see it - you will NOT be disapointed.

So, it's kind of ridiculous to review this movie this late in the game, especially considering 851 out of 860 people would recommend this movie to a friend, but I'll go ahead and give a quick, honest review. It was.. AMAZING. But, rather than say what everyone else says about all the twists, turns, and amazing cinematography; my favorite aspect of the movie was quite literally the characters and how they were perceived. Take Heath Ledger and Jack Nicolson. Both wonderful Jokers. But, in completely different lights. I really enjoyed the real life aspect of this modernized and unbelievably dark movie. It really was perfect. Wouldn't change a thing.
