The Dark Knight is one great thrill ride .From start to finish this film pulls you in and never lets you go.Ledger,s performance as the Joker will be a classic forever .His creepy persona lights up the screen every time He comes on.
Aaron Elkhart's Two Face is to short on the screen but still brings that conflict that the caricatures of this film face I.would highly recommend This film to adults keep the kids home please!

To start off, I have to say that it has been a very long time since I have found myself walking out of a theater having just watched a movie and thinking to myself how that movie is one of the greatest movies of all time. And the last time that happened was 3 years ago and I still had problems with that movie.
Well this one is different. Not a single thing was out of place and the cast was just amazing.
Heath Ledger's role in this film made me ultimately realise how we have lost a truly amazing actor. Christian Bale shined as the Batman and everyone else (Aaron Eckhart, Gary Olman, etc.) did a fantastic job in their roles. The movie itself didn't feel long and kept surprises going throughout the whole movie. It is still stuck in my mind and I'm already anxiously awaiting it's release on DVD (hopefully blueray as well).
I'm not a huge fan of comic book based movies. But this movie has completely changed my mind and I reccomend this movie for everyone!

I wasn't a huge fan of Batman Begins, although I did enjoy it. The Dark Knight, however, blew my expectations away. Amazing visuals, fantastic cast, great writing. This is definitely the best comic book movie ever. Very dark, not for kids.

This movie was great! Many parts to the batman puzzle were solved in this movie. I recommend this movie to anyone especially us nerds from back in the day. The action scenes were of the hook and special effects were terrific. As far as the joker is concerned i dont think they could have found a better actor to follow in jacks footsteps. 2 thumbs up from me!

Okay, this was a great movie, but the BEST movie I've ever seen? Come on people. Yes, it was suspenseful, great plot, great performance by Heather Ledger. It was a great movie and people will love it - especially because it seems like a "real" movie with "real" characters as opposed to a superhero movie. I'd see it again (on DVD), but it wasn't even the BEST movie I've even seen this summer. It seems a lot of people are overwhelmed by the movie because of the intrigue of Heather Ledger's death and tying that to his performance.

I wanted to know what the hype was all about; Heath Ledger's posthumous performance, the introduction of Harvey Dent, conflicting lives, so on, so on. I'll just say Ledger did a marvelous performance and this movie forever solidifies his memory. A little corny I'll admit. Other than that this movie shows us a side of Batman no one could ever get until now.

Like many fans of Batman Begins, I had waited for a long time to see the new Dark Knight featuring the Joker. The movie was very entertaining with well drawn characters and and all the gadgets and action sequences that fans expect from any Batman movie. Christopher Nolan has done a great job of turning the often cartoonish franchise into a serious and dynamic series, the latest one taking place in a very real Gotham City that easily could have been any major contemporary American city. This Gotham was not dressed with painted back drops and exotic set pieces like any previous movies in the series, rather, the whole film was done in a gritty realistic way that made it believable as a film whose merits relied on the traditional criteria of good filmmaking: direction, acting, cinematography, writing, etc.., not special effects and glitz.
Christian Bale did a good job again as Batman, though his voice when in the bat suit did get a little tiresome. Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent, played the character to its fullest within the realm of believability. The breakout performance, as everyone is saying, was Heath Ledger as the Joker. Leger truly did a remarkable job making the Joker both real and extremely creepy, though I was really hoping for some background on his character or a flashback that explained his transformation from person to crazy demented psychotic murderous lunatic.
The movie was good with great characters, in the next film I'd like to see a little more of the back story and epic story telling that made Batman Begins so memorable.

I am a huge Jack Nicholson fan, so was a bit disappointed whenever he wasn't cast in the role of the Joker (maybe he is getting a bit old for the part?), but Heath Ledger could not have done a better job. I never thought I would say I preferred another actor's portrayal of a character over Nicholson, but Ledger made a runaway performance.
The joker was totally a menace. The ending was a bit anticlimatic, but I smell another sequel -- Bring it on.

it could be seen as a climax-less movie, or, seen as a movie with multiple twists which at times seemed prolonged... however, stunning visuals, intricate plot and political topics to keep (at least myself) watching it again, and great performances especially from you know who....
one man stole this show and overall production and cast efforts have brought justice to the batman franchise for the second time. cheers!!
PS - i wonder if this role for H.L might have influenced his untimley demise~ never seen such a perfectly fit role for this actor in which he was born for and replastered the character beyond any chance of being remade...

This movie is beyond excellent. Every moment is filled with non-stop action, and the character development is perfectly displayed by two outstanding actors, Heath Ledger and Christian Bale. Ledger really displays The Jokers character and lust for turning Batman to the dark side. Throughout the movie, you will see the power of Batman and what he truly symbolizes. By far, The Dark Knight is the best Batman movie ever released.

Great action sequences but quite disappointed with the script. Nolan could have gotten more out of Bale, Oldman, and Caine. Heath Ledger, on the other hand, did not disappoint--was absolutely chillingly psychotic. I am a fan of the Batman movies but this one was far too hyped up. The film would have benefited from having 1 hour sliced off.

This movie was thrilling to watch, with a couple completly unexpected twists that really suck you in. Heath Ledger played his character perfectly. Not at one moment did I think "You know I'm not sure I really believe this act" which would be expected with any one else trying to master the Joker.

My husband and I saw this movie last night on our date. We've been looking forward to it for months, and it did not disappoint! It was AWESOME! We talked about it all the way home and even after the babysitter left. Seriously, we were on the edge of our seats the entire time. I was so into the movie- it's been a long time since a movie has come out that held my attention for almost 3 full hours! And yet it still ended too soon. I could watch this over and over again. The movie makes you think about deeper things, good vs evil, and it's all good. Enjoy the ride, it's well worth the ticket money. I'd like to go back and see it again, next time at IMAX!

My wife and I went on opening weekend and were just amazed by the experience. I am a huge comic book fan and this movie doesn't disappoint. Forget about the Two Face from early attempts in past movies, Aaron Eckhart's portrayal as Harvey Dent was true to the character with a great spin. Bale doesn't disappoint as Gotham's protector. And of course Heath Ledger's acting was superb as the Joker. Definitely a movie not to miss.

The only complaint I had for this movie was that the audio track was so loud throughout the movie that I had trouble catching everything was said - the background drama music regularly overwhelmed the dialogue! Frustrating.
Besides that, a satisfying action film and storyline that will have you dissecting the characters long after you leave the theatre. Loved that the romantic interest was not the typical 'barbie' - boobie & beautiful - but was strong & real. Bravo. Christian Bale is unmatched as Batman, and Michael Caine was a treat. Heath Ledger's portrayal was skillfully disturbing.

This was an exciting and well-acted movie. Heath Ledger was truly amazing, some of the creepiest I've ever seen. Christian Bale overdid the whole voice disguising technique, becoming annoying about a quarter of the way through the film. The movie ran about 30 minutes too long, and could have been edited to a comfortable length. Overall, the effects were awesome and I would not miss Ledger's last and perhaps best performance.

Not a blockbuster hit. The movie was blah, as well as the performances of Ledger & Bale. Does Bale really have to sound like he has been chewing glass? Ledger's performance by far the worse. It was worse that of Schwarznegger's Mr. Freeze or Devito's The Penguin.

i have loved batman since I was little. From Adam West to now. Even though I don't really like Christian Bale, he is probably one of the best batmans. The earlier batman movies were great for their camp value. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are amazing adaptations of graphic novels.
Heath Ledger's Joker was perfect and Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhardt) was great.
This is the only >2hr movie I have seen that did not need to end earlier. It is full all the way to the end. i love it and wanted to see it again as soon as it was over.

Heath Ledgers performance was truly an Academy Award winning one. The movie was exciting throughout with twists and turns you didn't expect. I liked the Batman that Christian Bale portrayed the best yet I think. I love Jack Nicholson, but, I have to say Heaths Joker was better without question.

I have seen lots of movies over the years, but this, hands down, could be the best one I have ever seen! Heath Ledger is MESMORIZING as the Joker...Oscar award please...
For 2.5 hours, you are completely transfixed on the screen, as the thick plot, action, acting and satisfying ending are all an experience to behold...the special effects for 2 face is something you will never see again...kudos to all involved...this is what Hollywood should be...Get to the theatre now...DVD won't do this movie justice...

The Dark Knight was good. I think Heath Ledger's role was most of what would be considered 'DARK.' The film was a little drawn out, especially for the ending that it had. I was hoping the there would be a continuation of Two-Faced, and I am guessing that there will be another movie since there was no scene of Joker being arrested, or killed. It's a definite must see film.

I left the theater feeling like I had just worked out at a gym. Loved the story, the action, the interaction and the "figure out who did what factor". Don't drink alot of fluids so you don't have to miss any frames! great fun and entertainment!

I loved every minute of it. It had all the ingredients necessary to keep the audience in awe. People in general tend to be very passionate when tragic circumstances surround an actor, in this case Heat Ledger. I agree he is/was an incredible actor, but to say that he stole the movie or that he deserves an Oscar....No way!....There are so many excellent actors with great performances this year to give the Oscar to a dead person. He was very dark and sinister but we can not compare his craft with Nicholson because their "Joker" were different by nature. Heath Ledger was a tragic loss, but let us not be subjective and give the kudos as well to Christian Bale. In my humble opinion , he is the best BATMAN ever! What does Maggie Gillenghall have to be in this movie? I think Batman deserved a better looking woman for his person of interest.
