This was a brilliantly well executed and acted film. The plot kept turning, the characters were well rounded, and the cinamatography was spectacular. It was 2.5 hours of pure pleasure. It's more than a small tragedy that we will not get to see Heath Ledger reprise his role in the future.

As a large batman fan, I'm biased. First off I heard a lot of people say that they didn't like the fact that there was "so little of batman" what they don't understand is that Batman's development was all explained in the first movie. It's not like Iron Man where we had to see how he becomes this super hero, and his evolution into superhero-dom. All of that was explained in the first movie, where as in this movie we got to see exactly what he learned/became in action.
That said, the next thing I must point out is A Hero is only as Good As His Villain... and dear Lord the Villain was wonderful. This Joker was moreso like the original--a man who appears out of the blue with an urge, not nessicarily to kill, but to create chaos. To show the world just how bad it really is.
That said, I reccommend this movie to anyone and everyone.

The movie lived up to my expectations and then some. Usually when you go into a movie with high expectations you should also go in ready to be disappointed, but that is not the case for "The Dark Knight". The movie kept me on the edge of my seat for the whole time not knowing what was going to happen next. Their were so many twists and turns and action that you could not help but be drawn into the movie. You did not feel like you were sitting there for two and a half hours. I would recomend that everyone watch it. It is well worth the money. If you are a fan of the original comic book you will like it, because It stays very true to the comic books.

This is definitely the second movie in a trilogy - expect to walk out of the theater feeling like you have been beat up.
The story is believable and it makes you really question the nature of good and evil, as well as what makes a hero. For me a good movie is something I walk away from having learned more about myself and this delivers that in spades. It isn't fluffy, it isn't feel good. It is raw and emotional and all about what you do in order to do the right thing. Even better, it doesn't rely on gore or shock value for the emotional response like so many movies do. This gets you emotionally through good acting and a great story - it puts you in the drivers seat on the problems and has you questioning several times "what would I do?"
This movie deserves every A rating it is receiving. I have watched every comic book movie that has come out. I won't say this is the best out there (Iron man has that for me), but it is the best in a different way. If you liked V for vendetta and how that made you feel - this movie is like that.

A little lengthy. Like they jammed to much plot into the film, but those are my only (and minor) complaints.
Ledger was amazing and magnetic. You never wanted him to leave the screen.

This movie was fantastic. The acting was amazing and I love how this director keeps these movies dark. If I was a Batman fan i most likely would of given this movie 5 stars, but it just didn't leave me wanting to be the dark knight.

absolutely stellar. excellent casting choices and solid performances by everyone in the movie. extremely dark, as any good batman flick should be. heath ledger steals the show with his terrifying, yet mesmerizing, take on the joker. totally worth seeing again and again.
this should be added to the likes of terminator 2, aliens, and empire strikes back as one of the few sequels that outshines the original.

This was an excellent remake. It kept me hooked the whole time i have to say this is the best of the batman's I have seen. It is sad to know that Mr. Ledger died before this was released because he pulled the Joker off perfectly. If you want to go see a film this weekend go see this. Being a parent though i would say not the movie to let your 8 year old whose afraid of clowns watch lol.

Not even considering Heath Ledgers untimely death, his performance was so engaging and delightful that I can't imagine anybody coming close to his level. Although I have heard some criticism of Two-Face, I felt that he perfectly matched the image of Two-Face from Batman the Animated Series. My only criticism of him was I wish there was more development/screen time of Two-Face's Destruction. The imagery was wonderful and the world Nolan created seems perfect.

Incredible movie. Heath Ledger's Joker is so intense. He really made the character his own. Once in a while, I was reminded of Nicholson, but he defined the character. But, for the most part, Ledger owned the Joker. He should get an Oscar for this performance. Great cast. Great movie. It was worth the loss of sleep to see the midnight showing!

Usually sequels are not as good as the first movie, but this one was even better than Batman Begins! Heath Ledger made the movie. He was the best Joker by far. I loved everything about this movie. I am sad that Rachel wasn't played by the same person, but I love Maggie Gyllenhaal, so that made up for the inconsistency. This movie was amazing and so worth going to see it at midnight.

The atmosphere at the Theatre was amazing, people dressed up as the Joker, Batman, Two Face, There were comic book give aways! My theatre had several beach balls being tossed around! I had a blast!!
