After all the talk I expected more. It's good but my main issue is with the pacing - the movie doesn't build very well to a climax but rather jerks you around in stops and starts. It really does start to drag toward the end.

I hate over-hyped movies, but this is the exception! Stellar performances by all the cast! Don't bring the little ones but bring everyone else you can pile into the car! This is one movie you must see in the theater!

ok..here is the deal... i saw the movie last night and i would say that was the BEST movies i have seen ...by far the most mind blowing performance from both Heath and Christian.
Heath portrays such a deep dark demented character I cannot get the performance out of my mind:)
I just wanna say he deserves an award for this performance.
The rest of the actors were all a great asset to this amazing story line!!
GO BATMAN.. I wanna see it again already:)

Loved all the actors performances, movie extremly dark and Heath Ledger was truly Oscar worthy. However, not PG, too violent which is ok for adults but not for kids.

This film played out a bit more like a great crime drama than it did a comic book movie. There were certainly some comic book elements to it, but that was merely secondary to the character development. Ledger's Joker should go down in history. I bet Jack Nicholson is mad he didn't get THIS script instead of the shiny t*** he was given. Sorry Jack...Ledger wins. My only criticism is that Bale wasn't given quite enough to do compared to the other characters. That's it. Everything else was perfect.

Fantastic opening and Jokers portrayl was the highlight. Unfortunatley Katie Holms character has been taken up by another actress who is neither pretty or close to Katies acting. I thought the ending was a bit flimsy (I will not spoil it) as Batmans exit was less than superheroish. Overall a solid film that probably went 30 minutes too long. Awesome effects and toys as usual. I would say DO NOT MISS this one on the big screen.

Movie was easily one of the most disturbing movies of the year. For parents to bring children under the age of 13 is totally irresponsible and theaters should strongly caution them of the violent nature of the movie.

The movie started off fast and dark and kept going. Heath Ledger is the perfect Joker, because in the comics you never really know the orgins of the Joker. Joker's stories on how he got his look is funny everytime. The action scenes are great and makes you want more. Bale as Batman is wonderful. He plays him so real as a man who understands his role in the city. Too bad Ledger, died he would be great in Dark Knight III Return of the JOKER.

I felt the movie was about a half hour too long. How many cops can you seen shot & blown up before it becomes Ho - Hum. The death toll was a bit high for my taste. What everyone is saying about Heath Ledger's performance is, however, right on. Brilliant, and worth seeing the film for that alone.

I think this movie is overrated, by a bunch. Heath's performance was outstanding I will say, but it was 2.5 hours of explosions with very little dialogue. Batman has way more 'gadgetry' then we saw. At times, especially in the closing sequence, the underscore is so loud you can't actually hear what is being. This movie was a good 20 minutes too long. And hey how about introducing the next villian in some way? Overall I would give it three of five stars; I thought Batman Begins was far superior.

Enjoyed the action and acting in the movie. The actor for the Joker did an especially excellent job. My only beef is that the ending was so weak; it was like the writers threw it together in 5 minutes just so they could wrap it up! All in all a flick worth sitting through 2.5 hours.

The movie was really terrific. I was totally engrossed in it till the end & especially loved the way the Joker builds up the terror. I do agree with some of the reviewers that some of the scenes were short & changed abruptly to other scenes that I wonder if the movie would have been even better without this?

Here's the thing. This was a really great movie but it was too long and too much blowing up of things! It desensitizes and you just wish they would get it over with! Heath Ledger was fantastic. What a legacy. The story line was great and everyone did a fine acting job. It just should have been about 30 minutes shorter.

This last time I saw this movie was my third time to see "The Dark Knight", and still I jumped at the crashed and booms! The satirical joke, that I was quoting along with the movie, still grasped an ear-to-ear smirk from me. An amazing movie that still after three times I would and probably willl see again!!!

Best movie of the year and one of the best I've seen. Saw it with my wife tonight and we both enjoyed it. Although long (2 1/2 hrs) it went pretty quick and was action packed. Good story and good special effects.
Wouldn't take younger kids (my 10 year old would probably have been scared at times) because there are some dark and scary type of moments. Great movie!!!

By far one of the best movies that I've seen in years. It's good to finally see a Batman movie that brings to life the characters that we remember from childhood. The old movies were fun, but this one actually brings a aura of drama and suspense that was seriously lacking in the other films. Ledger's performance is amazing and easily outshines those of the other actors.

This movie, like the first, had an excellent cast, storyline, acting, special effects and overall feel.
Like many people are saying, Heath Ledger's Joker was simply exact and perfect. It's everything the Joker could have and should have been, in relation to the comic version's personality.
Strangely, I did see some parallels to the original Batman movie with Jack Nicholas's portrayal of the Joker, but they didn't detract from this one.
Like the first movie, this was very dark and sinister and stayed true to the motif. A movie made for true Batman fans and for the big screen, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun-enriched story, yielding almost no shortcomings.
What would I change? Absolutely nothing. I only wish that Heith Ledger could fulfill the Joker's role in possible future films. He's going to be a very difficult act to follow

Definitely the highlight of the movie was Heath Ledger's Joker performance. While "The Dark Knight" was not the best superhero movie I have seen, Ledger's performance was the best I've seen in a Superhero movie.

The Dark Knight is by far the best BATMAN Movie I've seen since BATMAN BEGINS back in 2005. They've done it again. This movie is great!!!!! Heath Ledgers performance was excellent. He stole the show from christian bale and the rest of the cast. This version of the joker buries all versions before including old jack's back in 1989. Sorry jack heath did a better job. Besides the joker this movie was a non-stop thrill ride from beginning to end. So brovo christopher nolan & company, keep up the good work.

This film is so full of senseless, meaningless, and gratuitous violence that you start feeling queasy about half way through. It's frightening that so much money can be made because of slick marketing, not because of good creative product with redeeming value. Don't spend your money on this movie. Tell Hollywood that you want something of value and with substance for your money.

I really enjoyed this film. I can understand why there's talk of Heath Ledger being nominated for an Oscar. And the rest of the cast was brilliant as well. From start to finish, I was mesmerized and speechless by the film's intensity and all around amazing quality. I would definitely recommend this film to anyone who is considering going to see it. Even those that aren't as they don't know what they're missing out on. :)
