I thought it was an excellent movie, well made, very gripping. Very little to almost no hope in the movie makes you leave the theater not in the best mood, but this does not mean it was not a great movie. I feel as if I have to see it again after the first viewing as there is a lot going on.

Heath Ledger's performance steals the show! I've never seen a comic book villan that I empathized with, laughed at, and was creeped out by. . .The story line is very strong. The film deals with real issues while telling the Batman story. Two thumbs way way up!

The previews made this movie look like it was going to be excellent, but there was so much more to the movie than that previews showed and I was so excited to find those things out. This was definitely a very great movie and I would see it several times in theaters and buy it the day it comes out on DVD.

the film rox. they (christian, gary, morgan, the nolans) did us proud.
can't wait to see it on IMAX.

There were two things that made Batman Begins a wonderful film: the realism, and the character and plot development. The Dark Knight lacked both of these. The realism was traded for the traditional ludicrousness of most action films, and development of the chracters was poor. The plot was non-existent.
There are two saving graces of the film: the actress who plays Rachel is a great improvement on Katie Holmes, and the performance by Heath Ledger was everything it was hyped to be.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I'm a huge fan of "Returns", which was - in my humble opinion - the best Batman film produced.
And then Nolan, Bale and the rest of the crew of "Dark Knight" changed my mind.
This film is going to change the way we look at "superheroes", and it has set the standard for future DC projects, including "Watchmen" and the innevitable 3rd Batman film by Nolan.
Superb performances and a terrific story, this is one of those films that you'll remember for many years to come. And you'll watch it again and again.

The whole psycology of the villans and why they terrorise people, especially with the joker, is so greatly portrayed. The batman movie is the most action packed, fast paced, and intersting story i have ever seen in a batman movie. It is non stop fun.

I absolutely loved this movie! Though I have seen all the previous movies I had never been the biggest fan of anything after Batman Returns. The Dark Knight completely changed that. It was full of unexpected twists and turns. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. All the acting was amazing but nothing beat Heath Ledger's performance. He came off as scary and funny at the same time. This is now my new fave!

This movie was amazing, but of course, that was to be expected. I found myself holding my breath for many parts of the movie, getting lost in the characters and the incidents they provoked. This was better than the first one, which I also loved, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The movie borders on one of the best overall films I have seen thus far. The acting is very superb (especially Ledger) with each character delving deeper into their own demons for a very believable tale. The world in which the inhabitants play is darker than Batman Begins through the many developing plot lines, but is molded beautifully for each characters needs.

Incredible...what's not too like...action packed, great acting, cool effects, Ledger's joker is like Joker strained through Tarantino funnel. Felt like I got punched in the face when I was done (in a good way). Not for kids though and it's about time.

One always is concerned about Part Twos and beyond. I think that this is best exemplified by the recent Indiana Jones installation...a few years too late, Georgie.
But Christopher Nolan has a vision. These movies are already complete in his head, and he just realizes them a bit at a time. So when you go see The Dark Knight, be prepared for a subtle continuation of Batman Begins without any hand holding. Nolan's vision of Gotham City is dark, dirty and menacing, and Heath Ledger's version of the Joker is enthralling as he is an animal enjoying the cat and mouse game that Batman creates for him. It's a wonderful envisioning of the character, as Ledger's Joker is a man conversely in love with the idea of Batman, as well as convinced he can find his shatter point.
Be prepared for Lieutenant Gordon showing audiences how he's not the fat, helpless cow that was depicted in previous movies. He might get that way twenty years into the future, but for now, you can see how he is earning Batman's respect.
And I won't tell you all the best part, but the unveiling of the loose cannon is also done very well.
It is fairly dark and violent, with a great deal of big punches and shootings. It makes you squirm, just like a good action movie should, as you worry about the characters. But it's a wonderful story and a great last gift from Heath Ledger.

i saw the midnight showing of the new batman movie and i thought it was really good. It was by far the best batman movie made so far. I think that the actor playing the joker did an excellent job playing the joker. The movie had lots of action and was none stop suspense. I would see it again for sure and i recomentd this movie to any batman fan or action movie fan.

The trailers made the movie look so intense, high-action, and thrilling - and this is one of the only movies that's actually delivered on it's promises. The whole movie through, the entire jam-packed theater was dead silent except for the action sequences when many people were gasping and saying "whoa" and then clapped at the end. Definatley worth seeing - recommend this movie for your friends. As I was walking out of the theater, no one was disappointed.
