From beginning to end, Batman: The Dark Knight, proves to be a riveting film. Between Christian Bale's ultimate stage presence as Bruce Wayne, and Heath Ledger's absolutely flawless role as the Joker, this film is undoubtedly a must see. Both interesting, as well as containing a near-demented sense of humor, Batman: The Dark Knight is what a Batman film was meant to be. Those who are more familiar with the characters will notice the subtle foreshadowing in the earlier parts of the movie that subsequently lead to a much more twisted, and far more thick plot, than has ever been recognized in any previous Batman film. With all that said, the best description of this movie was given by the Joker himself during the movie (if I remember correctly "This is what happens when an unstoppable moving object hits an immovable object." You will enjoy this film.

I LOVE this series of Batman because it's more realistic and not as much like a caricature. This movie reinforced that appreciation even more. Ledger gave a stunning performance and deserves an award 1000 times over. Bale plays the lead well, as always, but at times the grumbly voice got annoying. You get to see the character as a human with flaws though, so its perfect.
Stunts were AWESOME and one of the most exciting parts of this movie.
You need to see this movie NOW, and then again immediately after to see the nuances you missed while being so excited the first time.

Amazing movie but dragged a bit at the end. I love the gadgets and stunts. This was a different feel but an amazing one. Heath Ledger did an awesome job. He's right up there with Jack but a different feel. Go SEE it!!

This movie was probably the best movie ive seen in theatres. The film had so many spectacular elements its hard to describe without someone else seeing it. Heath Ledger's acting was some of the most amazing and terrorfying work ive ever seen. He took his character so far where you just loved him. The best villan of all the movies ive seen, and ive seen a LOT of movies. It was just beautiful. The special effects were great, the story was great, and the character dynamics were compelling. Just go see this movie.

This is easily one of the best movies I've ever seen. The entire movie I was absolutely astounded by the action, dialogue, and humor (intentional or not). The story flowed nicely, but wasn't predictable the way many movies can be. The acting was superb and it was honestly a little depressing watching Heath Ledger's final performance. To say the least, he brought more life to the Joker than I've seen in any other Batman movie. I'd strongly recommend you see The Dark Knight; you won't be disappointed.

Finally, someone got it right! I have gone my whole life as a die-hard Batman fan, my top favorite films were Batman (1989), Batman Returns (1992), and Batman Begins (2005), but now it seems The Dark Knight has stolen the #1 spot, and boy did it deserve it. The Nolans went over and beyond everything I had expected from the film, possibly over everyone's expectations, I mean, when I was sitting there in that packed theatre early on Friday morning, hearing all of the applauses and laughs and 'OH MY GAWD!' moments, I was astonished that the film was not even over yet (which garnered a standing ovation btw). All of the acting was superb, Christian has done it again as the caped crusader, and Gary Oldman won some cheers as Comm....oops...Lieutenant Gordon. Aaron Eckhart's portrayal of Harvey Dent, and later Two-Face was unbelievably perfect, but in the end disappointing (only that it had to end). And of course, the main man, the clown prince of crime, the harlequin of hate, the joker...played unimaginably well by Heath Ledger. He was completely terrifying, and when he made you laugh, he made you question who you really are. Overall the film was perfect in my opinion, with only 1 minor problem i had, which i will not share because i do not want to ruin the ending (teehee), but the film as a whole was magnetic and magnificent, with a climactic battle between the joker and batman which eerily mirrored the final conflict between the two in batman (1989). 5 out of 5 stars, 10 out of 10 popcorns, A++++, however you spin it, this is one of the greatest movies of the last 25 years, and one of the greatest films ever made......ever. Well, that's the review, I am going to go see it again....and again.....and again.

I haven't been a big fan of the Batman movie series and found most of the stories either unbelievable or boring and predictable. This one's not!
Christian Bale is believable (except for putting in his own stitches without a wince but we'll let that one get by) and interesting. Arthur (played by Michael Caine) is also excellent and even Maggie Gyylenhaal (how do you spell that name anyway?) is true to her character. I found the characters of D.A. Harvey Dent (played by Aaron Eckhart from "Thank you for Smoking") and Heath Ledger's Joker were the most intriguing and interesting characters.
Ledger pretty much stole the show for me. Joker was nuts but consistently nuts and not too fantastical to be believed. His "magic trick" was probably the funniest scene in the movie (not going to ruin that one for you).
The only letdown in the script was trying to understand how the DA turns on the entire city after his injury. It didn't seem in character to me and it was a little contrived for my taste. Otherwise I would give the movie high marks--especially for a cartoon character turned feature film.
The movie is definitely the usual dark film the entire Batman series has been from the start. I wouldn't take a child under 12 if this is his/her first PG-13 movie until you know they can handle the prolonged stress of it. It's a long movie but it didn't feel that way. Go enjoy!

This film is the bomb!!! The Dark Knight is one of the best action films ever made. Gothem City looks extra cool because they used the beautiful city of Chicago, my hometown as the setting!

Definitely worth my 10 bucks. Ledger was amazing as the Joker. The balance between Two-Face, The Joker, and Batman was great. Some secondary characters were weak in their purpose, but it was not damaging to the story at all. I could have done without certain "cheesy" moments, but I guess you have to sometimes expect that from a PG-13 movie. Go see this movie immediately.

I really loved the pacing and style of this movie. It think that some people will feel a bit deflated (like my son who raved frantically about the movie as if it could cure cancer....only to feel not quite so impressed at the end) because they "over hyped" the movie in their own mind.
Make no mistake, this movie was phenomenal and should be considered as such. It didn't give the viewer the satisfaction of bringing all of the plot variables to a swift conclusion. Not unlike "Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers", this movie was proof that it is always "darkest" before the dawn.
The next movie might bring some much anticipated closure to the problems of Gotham, but it will in no way minimize the need for this picture. In short, I loved it and would recommend it to any true Batman Fan. Grab hold of your seat it is going to be a bumpy ride.

As I was watching Heath Ledger's final performance, I found myself forgetting who it was under the makeup. Although there are some slight resemblances, he did an excellent job of completely submersing himself in his character. It was definitely his best performance, and an excellent one to go out on.
Not only was the Joker outstanding, but the action sequences in the Dark Knight were some of the best I have seen in a while. It was also refreshing to find a such a fresh, quality plot. It was simply genius.
All in all, it was easily one of the best movies I have ever seen, and if you haven't seen it yet, go see it!

This incarnation of the Batman franchise was the best Batman movie made so far. The supporting characters were delved into more which gave the audience more room for empathy with each one. There has been alot of hype surrounding this movie because of the death of Heath Ledger but I can honestly say that he knocked the role of the Joker out of the park homerun style. I actually think he surpassed Nicholson's version in the very first Batman. Stop reading this and GO SEE THIS MOVIE NOW!

This was an incredible movie. It was a movie where going into was iffy since it was both a sequal and a sequal to a comic book movie, but it just not only met the expectations of a good batman movie but a good stand alone crime movie. It's a long miovie with two and a half hour run time, but it does not dissapoint throughout with no dull dragged on moments.
