I will tell you right here, right now, that it doesn't matter what you think will happen in The Dark Knight--you are wrong. Nothing will prepare you for this movie. It is not a simple superhero fights bad guy movie; it is an epic story that transcends action and superhero films and that will change forever how you view both genres. Christian Bale does a wonderful job portraying Batman, only outdone by Heath Ledger's magnificent Joker. Everything that you've heard about Ledger's performance is true, and more; the Joker of The Dark Knight is so pants-wettingly terrifying that he makes all other villains seem as harmful as a couple of butterflies in a field. He enters the movie with a bang and doesn't stop creating havoc until you are thoroughy exhausted from terror and excitement. By the end of the movie you will be left in fear of the darkest corners of human nature--and in awe of the inexplicable nobility of that same human nature. Oh, and let's not forget some of the greatest action sequences of all time. You will gasp several times; some of you will scream; others may, indeed, wet their pants. The only way you could dislike this movie is if you tried really, really hard--and even then you'd have to be blind to strong acting, wonderful directing, and a powerful storyline. I really recommend that no one misses this movie. It is worth every cent that you spend at the box office.

I had my doubts that the movie was gonna live up to the hype. I went to the midnight showing, at a theater that went from 4 screens showing the movie to 20.
The movie was awesome.
Heath Ledger, did an amazing job as the joker. I truly believed the was crazy. I sat glued to my seat for 2hrs and 30min, as did i think the entire theater did. Effects were awesome, acting awesome. Explosions, awesome.
Go see the movie, don't wait till DVD, its worth it to see it on the big screen.

Although I did not see the first movie of this new Batman series, I would have to say that this movie probably surpassed the first in terms of overall talent and performance. It was a gritty, dark look at our favorite "Caped Crusader" with plenty of dark humor, violence, and insanity for any type of audience, though this is probably not a movie that young children should see anyway. Although I'm sure there are those who probably would say that they wouldn't see it, they are missing out on one of the best movies to grace theaters this year. (On a side note, Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker was spectacular and if he doesn't win a posthumous Oscar for best supporting actor, I don't know who should)

"Wow!" is a word you're going to be hearing a lot in conjunction with "The Dark Knight". It was bigger, broader and better than the previous film. And yes... Heath Ledger was spellbinding. Being a Gary Oldman fan, I was glad to see they incorporated Jim Gordon a lot more.
The social commentary was great, the stunts were spectacular, and pretty much every performance was memorable!

I normally don't like batman movies, but this was just awesome. Chris Nolan is a phenomenal director and a true visionary. Acting, needless to say, was top notch. Bale dished out an amazing performance. But it truly Heath Ledger who stole the show. He took this movie, and the entire batman franchise to a new level with the most haunting rendition of the joker ever portrayed. The cinematography was just incredible. This was definitely a movie I would see again, but this time at an IMAX.

I can't say enought about his movie. I was captivated from start to finish. Heath Ledgar was amazing as was the rest of the cast. I think Christopher Nolan made a masterpiece. My only hope is they don't make another Batman because I don't think they can top this.

Christian Bale is a perfect Batman/Bruce Wayne once again, and the addition of Heath Ledger as the scariest villain I have ever seen makes this my favorite superhero movie of all time. "Wanna see a trick? Here, I'll make this pencil...disappear."

The Dark Knight is a movie that transcends its comic book roots by taking both the characters and themes and placing them in a real world setting. It often feels as if director Christopher Nolan forgot he was making a superhero film and instead made a complex thriller that will keep you wondering what's going to happen next throughtout its 2 1/2 hour running time.

There is nothing higher than 5 stars possible for this movie? Because it certainly deserves all the stars in the known universe and then some! I cringed, I cheered, I begged for more! It was intense! My heart was pounding in my throat the entire movie and after it was over there were no words to describe this amazing movie, I was completely breathless and speechless at the midnight show! Ledger's portrayal of the Joker will surely go down in history as one of the greatest performances of all time. From the first second til the last, this movie grabs you, pulls you in, and takes you on an emotional and visual thrill ride that you will never forget! Go see it! You won't be disappointed! The hype surrounding this movie has grown tremendously in the past few weeks and let me tell you... the hype is all true. Your eyes are glued to the screen from start to finish... and the main reason...(besides the story- which is epic storytelling) was Heath Ledger.
His incarnation of the Joker is iconic and something that should definately not be taken on by any other actor in the distant future.
This movie has already reached new heights in pre-ticket sales and hype before its debut. It will continue to smash records and definately be one for the ages.
Just another comic book film? Epic story come to life.

After Heath Ledger's death, I heard on the television that although it would be his last, is his best performance ever. Experiencing the level of intensity he brough to the character of the Joker put chills down my spine. The only negative comment I have to make is that sadly if a sequel is made, Heath Ledger will not be able to reprise his role.
With a cast of talents such as Gary Oldman, Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, and Michael Caine, this movie gets a two thumbs up!

I walk into the theater with expectations and for the first time in a long time a movie more than deliver. You do not walk in thinking Oscar but you do at the end. Batman begins revived the batman name, this movie just sends thing to entire new level. Forget you're ideals of what a villan is, Heath ledgers JOKER has now become the definition of what a villan is. FROM KNOW ON THE JOKER IS HEATH LEDGER. this batman is dark a bit more violent than expected ( it should have being rated R I think ) the action scenes are incredible, and never lacking a kind off luster that just brands a movie good or great. chritian bale is great as batman again. I would recommend to every one just becarefull with the young ones this is not like any batman before...

Star power and talent filled this movie to the max. From Heath Ledger's breath-taking version of the Joker that leaves your jaw open his first full scene, to Anthony Michael Hall who played a minor reporter. Dark Knight leaves you at a loss for words to describe how much you enjoyed it.
