Like many other "Batman" fans, I was waiting for this movie for what seemed like a lifetime. So of course, I made plans to attend a midnite showing in Chicago. That was a mistake. I have never been so disappointed by any movie in my whole life.
This movie was filled so so many useless scenes that dragged it out to a "this is killing me" movie before the first hour was even up. The acting was so horrible by most of the actors. Batman has never talked with that deep-I'm the greatest so be scared of me- voice. Where did that come from?
Heath Ledger was ok, but would people be crying Oscar if he were alive? I really doubt it. Beside, was he really on screen long enough to even say he put on an Oscar worthy performance? Nope.
Two-face should not have been anywhere in this movie. Adding his character to the film just sunk it deeper.
Bottom line, I wish I could knock some real sense into all those people who claim it was "the best batman movie ever!". The only Batman movie done right was the original by Tim Burton. He should've directed this one and then, maybe then, this would have been a must-see. But with the actors and story line this film had, I doubt anything or anyone could have helped this one.
I want a refund!!!

I saw this movie at a midnight showing and let me just say that I didn't need caffeine to keep me awake for over 2 hours. This movie is full of action and suspense. There were even a few times when I jumped. The stunts were awesome and the acting was very well done. Heath made a very convincing mad man as the "joker". What a shame we won't see him repeat the role! Christian Bale is now my favorite Batman and Chris Nolan is my favorite Batman director. Loved this movie!!!

The Dark Knight is right on to the version of the story that I recall from the comic books of old. It was well acted and it was fun to watch. I thought that the sets were well done and the stunts were great. I do recommend it to folks that are batman fans, it is definately the second movie and should be watched after a viewing of batman begins.

Finally! A big ticket movie that lives up to the hype! Both acting and storyline makes this movie enjoyable and entertaining from start to finish. As expected, Ledger's portrayal of Joker will be remembered as legendary.

The entire movie keeps you in suspense. The action scenes are amazing and well spaced out. The background music is beautiful. They tie in every aspect of Batman- good action, cool gadgets, batman's self-struggle, twisted villains, all in a semi-futuristic/alter ego NYC. I never thought 2 hr 30min could stay exciting the whole time, but it did.

The Dark Knight was the greatest movie this year by far. Every second made you sit on the edge of your seat and you never knew what was going to happen next. Heath Ledger and Christian Bale's performances along with the other actors and actresses were unforgettable in this spectacular movie.

This movie was phenomenal - Christian Bale was better than ever, and the Oscar buzz about Heath Ledger's performance is right on. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time - the film contained some plot twists I truly did not see coming (although not being familiar with the comic book, bigger fans might be less surprised). Christopher Nolan caught Chicago at its finest.

How The Dark Knight should have been presented on screen from the beginning, Harvey Dent, tragic and brilliantly acted and The Joker??? it has to be seen to be believed... the hype is true and I hope that Mr. Ledger get's the Oscar he deserves... not a pity Oscar because of his tragic and untimely death but because I have never in my life seen a part so amazingly acted and an actor completely disappear into a role, he was astounding.

Where as most movie trailers now spoil all the best parts of movies, this movie never failed to amaze me. Heath's character, Joker, is quite possible the most convincing and psychopathic character to grace the screen since Psycho. Heath did not play the Joker, he brought the character to life, it took on a persona on itself. The same goes for all the characters. There were very few times where you had to have the age old superhero movie "suspension of disbelief". Where there unbelievable parts? To be true yes, but they were far over shadowed by the psychological depth and intrigue of the movie. By far it was the best movie of 2008 to date, in fact I would venture of the new millennium to date.

Without a doubt, this is the best movie, EVER! (That's right, I said ever!) I am an avid movie goer and a huge Batman and Joker fan, so I know what I'm talking about. This is the movie I have been waiting for all my life. Christian Bale is Phe ... Nominal (yes 2 words, he's that good). Maggie, not so much. An average performance at best. It could be that she is surrounded by so much talent that she could not shine. Aaron Eckhart is great, as well as, and always, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman. The distance that Jack Nicholson took the Joker character from where Caesar Romero left it, has been multiplied by a number only an MIT honor student can calculate. Heath Ledger truly, TRULY deserves an Oscar, and not out of mourning or pity. His performance is one of the best that I have ever seen. The plot is deliciously intricate yet random, in a scary, psychotic way. I use "random" but not in the negative " this movie doesn't make sense" sorta way. It does make sense, and THAT's what's scary! This is not just a great comic book movie; it is a great movie and a new standard. Thrilling yet Hysterical!!!

I really loved this movie. I think Christian Bale encompasses everything that we love about Bruce Wayne. Heath Ledger did an amazing job as the Joker. The movie kept my attention all the way through. I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone from the hardcore Batman fanatics to those who just appreciate a good movie :)

whats a word to describe something I've been waiting for.... for a very very long time? Welp, this was it. I hardly go see a movie twice, yet if you haven't seen this one yet, call me up... my treat. Heaths performance was...... Heaths performance as the joker WILL be remembered for a very long time. After Batman begins I wasn't sure what to think of another up comming batman vs. joker flick without stepping on some of Jacks toes.... all I can say is, Jack who? Thank you Heath for a performance of a life time, NO one could've done it better.

this movie was the best! it was a great masterpiece even though it had a few flaws, but overall it was great. The Joker's ending should have been expanded and Two-Face shouldnt have been killed off so quick and easily, but i would give it a 100 out of 10.

The Dark Knight is the best movie of the 2008 summer blockbusters. It has everything a good movie should have. An intriguing plot, deep characters and stimulating visuals.
The plot is a dark journey as Batman deals with a kind of villian he has never faced before and tries to figure out how to stop his greatest villian of all time as he reeks havoc upon Gotham as it feels its pulling itself out of the dark hole of gang corruption and fear. But Batman isn't alone in the fight, Harvey Dent, the radical and daring guiding light leads the public in the fight against evil. But all is not right in Gotham. The desperate gang member leaders seek an end to Batman and Dent's obliteration of their organizations, they turn to the Joker to take care of things and bring fear back into the city. The plot takes many unexpected twists and turns that push the Dark Knight to the breaking point as he is forced to watch many innocent lives destroyed and lost in his fight against crime.
