Heath Ledger deserves and oscar after this. simply and amazing performance by all of the actors in this film. even though the film was 2 hr and 30 min it didnt matter action packed throughout. great story. i wouldnt even call it a super hero movie more of like a crime drama. and there are plenty of surprises to go around. PLEASE SEE THIS MOVIE. you will not be disappointed. help dark knight become the highest grossing movie ever!

The whole movie was awesome to begin with. There was not a single part where I thought,"They could have done that better." Ledger did an AWESOME (far beyond that even) job playing his part, the Joker. He had a good intro, as well (the pencil). I would definitely pay to watch this again.

Amazing movie! Was hooked for the whole 2 1/2 hours. Think that they probably could've left out a half an hour to an hour's worth... but it leaves you in suspense for another one so it's understandable. Otherwise, brilliant film. Heathe Ledger does a phenomenal job as Joker.

This movie was intense, suspenseful, and satisfied the quota for action in a good film. I thought 'Iron Man' was going to be the best movie of this year but not after seeing 'The Dark Knight'. Heath Ledger is absolutely amazing as the Joker; scary and unpredictable when he needs to be but also adding a few humorous touches to the ominous mood of this movie. The Dark Knight is a MUST SEE for EVERYONE! Anyone who has not seen this movie is missing out on an outstanding piece of art that puts the mona lisa to shame.

Wow. Walking out, or more appropriately, staggering out of the movie theater, I did not have any words other than... wow. Amazing. Spectacular. Disturbing. Who would have thought that those words would fit together for this movie?
It has to be one of the most disturbing movies I have ever seen in my life, but the fact that Heath Ledger plays the Joker that well makes it completely fine that I was disturbed. Ledger deserves an Oscar for that performance.
Amazing. Spectacular. Disturbing. This is what super-hero movies should be made of.

The Dark Night was a great movie. It was a little bit long BUT - the action was great, the actors were great (esp. Heath Ledger -he was spot on as the Joker), and it was, all around, a well-put together movie,and VERY enjoyable.
My only criticism of the movie was that it seemed to lack some characterization, and had a more broadly focused view of the characters sometimes. However, this didn't really bother me - the shortcomings of the movie were few and far between.
I'd also like to mention that skipping the line for tickets was GREAT.

Batman: The Dark Knight met and exceeded all of my expectations. It was beautifully crafted and the cast was amazing. It did not just revolve around Bruce Wayne/ Batman, but also revolved around Harvey Dent, The Joker, and Lt. James Gordon. This movie did not stray away from the plot at hand like some other films tend to do when there ends up being more than one villain. It followed each character carefully. Brilliant movie. Its success is not because of Heath Ledger and his death, but because of the amazing plot and cast. Heath Ledger brings a little laughter into the movie with his wonderful lines that one will never forget to quote. Harvey Dent's Two-Face was not what anyone in the audience was expecting because it was much darker than the Two-Face we all remember played by Tommy Lee Jones. Everything is darker in this movie, but it still shows the struggle every individual has between good and evil. Even the citizens and inmates of Gotham are confronted with saving themselves or the others and both groups choose to save the other. This shows hope in the fact that every person still has some good in them no matter what the situation. Harvey Dent was the one good person in Gotham, who ended up falling to evil when the one thing he loved was taken away from him. I think that the music will be one of those scores that people will recognize instantly. Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard have made music to remember.

It was awesome! Heath Ledger did an amazing job of playing the Joker. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat the entire movie. It kept mostly in sync with the original movies but still gave the impression of a newly thought up movie. Ummm, that's about all I have, but there are still plenty of great things to be said about this movie. So go see it. I'll be seeing it a few more times in theaters myself.

The theater was packed and nobody moved the entire 2.5 hours....it was intense, action-packed, and captivating as Heath Ledger played a very convincing psychopathic killer. Heath shows that he is a complete character actor that totally immersed himself in the role where he and the joker were one soul...definitely an oscar-winning performance.

It is difficult to know where to begin with this movie. Here are the 3 things I can say about this. 1) one of the best movies ever 2) the best comic book movie ever 3) the best movie villain ever alongside hannibal lecter in silence of thel lambs.
Masterpiece. Heith Ledger alone is worth the price of admission. His performance transcends acting and should be seen as a work of art.
Last comment I want to make is about the tone of the movie. The tone is dark, there is a lot of despair in this movie, which I enjoy compared to conventional comic book movies where you never really feel like the action hero is in danger.

The Dark Knight is an extremely apt title: this movie was incredibly dark... and beautiful. This is the high point of the superhero movie genre. It simply doesn't get any better than this. I admit to being slightly confused by the many incidental characters through the multiple plot lines (especially the mobsters and the "crooked" cops). But I prefer a movie to have a few confusing points, so I can look for something the next time I see it.

I am a huge fan of the Batman franchise and I am happy to say that this movie lived up to the hipe and even raised the bar not only with the special effects and action sequences but the quality of acting involved (Mr. Ledger as the best Joker ever and Mr. Bale as my favorite Batman so far) is only perfected by an amazing script. This movie has really destroyed the stereotype of the super hero movie and it has created something different. I recommend it to everyone because this movie is truly great!!!

This movie is much better than a superhero movie has any right to be. DC Comics,Christopher Nolan, and Christian Bale have found a magic combination with Batman. I'm a die hard comic book fanboy and have a history of being overly critical of this genre of cinema , and usually rightfully so. Somehow these people have discovered the secret recipe to make Batman movies work. There's just enough comic book and just enough reality to allow nerds and casual movie goers alike to fully immerse themselves in Gotham City's seedy back allies and towering skyscrapers. I'm going to keep this review short and spoiler free to protect those who haven't had the pleasure of experiencing this film first hand yet. The movie picks up a short while after the events of Batman Begins and takes the Caped Crusader and his crew off in a very dark direction. If this were the Star Wars universe, this is DEFINITELY the Empire Strikes Back of the series. The introduction of the newly re-imagined Joker brings a terrifying new element to the franchise. Where Jack Nicholson hammed it up as the Clown Prince of Crime, Heath Ledger dredges up Hannibal Lector like insanity. His vicious acts are completely random and completely without remorse. He isn't interested in money, power, or even recognition. He, as Alfred so succinctly put it, "Just wants to watch the world burn". The film makers handled the relationship between Batman and the Joker the way that I always thought the two would really act towards one another. I don't think the Joker really wants to BEAT Batman. I don't think he even wants to fight Batman. The Joker wants to prove to Batman that they are essentially the same. They're both costume wearing, psychologically damaged, freaks. The only thing that separates them is Batman's strict moral code...and THAT is what really drives the Joker insane. He keeps going after Batman not because he's trying to kill him or somehow defeat him. He wants to put him in a situation where he has to abandon his code and sink to the Joker's level. From Batman's perspective, I believe he is actually afraid that the Joker may actually do it some day. Batman/Bruce Wayne has always walked a thin line between dark avenger and brutal thug. It wouldn't take that much of a push to shove Batman into the darkness for good. And THAT is what drives this movie. It's all about choices and the repercussions of those choices be they good or bad. That's the core of this movie. Even though there's a whole mob war going on. Even though Harvey Dent and James Gordon have some great moments and really make you care about their crusade against crime. Even though Rachel Dawes and Bruce Wayne seem like they might be able to finally put the whole Batman identity aside and make things work. Even though about a million other cool things happen in this movie. It all boils down to how Batman can fight somebody who doesn't care about anything. Not even his own life. There is a reason why the Joker is the most popular Batman rogue and quite possibly the greatest comic book villain of all time and this movie reminds you of that from beginning to end. Go see this movie and I dare you to disagree with that. It also reminds you why Batman is the hero that we all want to be. He doesn't need mutant powers or super strength or magic to wage his war on evil. He just needs the determination and iron will to do what others can't or won't do...and being a billionaire with access to lots of cool high tech gadgets doesn't hurt either. To sum up...this movie shows you how heroic Batman can be and how hilariously frightening the Joker can be. You have to see the movie to find out about the other million cool things that I was talking about earlier. Enjoy...

Best joker ever Heath Ledger really delivered on the Joker. To be able to make Jack Nickelson's preformance look that bad is a serious accomplishment.

Nolan and company have done the impossible by surpassing expectations to create not only a beautiful, epic film; but to a create a phenomenal superhero film for the ages.
