If you have not seen this movie yet, I would advise you to do so immediately, or at your next possible opportunity. This was a very close to perfect movie; yes there were a few little plot details that were idiotic, and the Gotham City police seem to be the most inept bunch of cops ever assembled, also the cell phone device was a little far-fetched, but those are the only complaints I have.
Heath Ledger was incredible, Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman were just as good if not better than the first movie, and Aaron Eckhart was charming and horrifyingly psychopathic.
Go see it now, and then see it a few more times like I am going to do.

This movie was absolutely amazing. It was the most action packed 2.5 hour movie that has come out in a long time. Heath Ledger plays a completely derranged Joker. His performance makes the movie. I do not think that anyone else could have played it as well. His character is even better than Jack Nickolson as the Joker. This is my new favorite Batman movie. Everyone should see it on the big screen.

Batman is everything one could hope for from a comic book story. The story remains true to the comic and doesn't fall into the typical Hollywood mold of trying to please the average viewer. Nolan takes Batman to the darkest depths and it is exactly where he needs to be.
Partnered with a spectacular performance by Heath Ledger the film is the ultimate in good versus evil. This Joker is one of the best villains in film history, thanks to Nolan's writing and Ledger's portrayal. There is nothing better than a brutal psychopath who can make you laugh.
This film should be the biggest hit of the year and challenge all sorts of records. The only difference is this time around the film actually deserves all of the money it is going to make.

I thought Batman Begins was the best, this one takes it BY FAR. All actors were in their part, story line was fantastic, special effects and stunts were amazing... Heath's best performance yet. Was it Bale or was it the real Batman? Only complaint was the uncomfortable seats we sat in for the 2.5 hours of the movie... I would like to see again in theaters but will DEFINITELY own this on Blu-Ray!

Awesome movie! Christopher Nolan had to be commended for his direction of this movie. I never was bored watching a single scene. Every actor was almost superb, especially Heath Ledger. The role of The Joker was written, casted, directed and performed well.
I went to a late night showing which I never do because I can't stay awake, however this was a movie that kept me awake and waiting for the next scene.
I highly recommend it.

I cannot begin to describe how much I loved this movie. There are literally no words - but I'll try anyway.
Heath Ledger gives the performance of his career, and that's saying a lot. The Joker is psychotic, homicidal, and (best of all) funny!
Aaron Eckhart is also extremely brilliant as Harvey/Two-Face. The man he becomes, compared to what he is at the start... there is a wonderful story arc. I pray we see more of him in the future.

Outstanding movie and a worthy addition to the Batman franchise, but definitely not for children. Heath Ledger makes an excellent Joker and brings true menace to the role. The entire cast is perfect and Aaron Eckhart contributes far more than a pretty face to the role of Harvey Dent.

The Dark Night is everything you'd expect in a summer action flick--lots of explosions, fistfights, neat gadgets, the usual. In fact, if there's one thing that kept this movie from being brilliant, it was the almost incoherent action scenes at the end.
As every movie review I've seen has said, Heath Ledger steals the show as the Joker. Ledger's Joker is malevolent without any sense of purpose--he burns the money he steals, kills his thugs and civilians alike with equal indifference, and seems to have no goal other than chaos. He is all the more frightening for that lack of purpose-- more an indifferent force of nature than a terrorist. He is, in fact, funny, but manages to make you laugh and cringe at the same time.
What was interesting to me was that the Joker wasn't the only scene stealer. Some of the best lines and moments are reserved for Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman, who appear as islands of calm in the maelstrom that has the rest of the characters flailing around without any sense of direction. This Batman--emotional, confused, and not even sure why he's fighting any more--would be lost without both of them.
One note of caution: although the movie has almost no gore, some of the action scenes are so intense (and so long) that they may be overwhelming for younger kids. This is not a movie to take your 5-year old to, no matter how big a Batman fan he is.

I was like most other people in the theater; captured, dazzled, disturbed in awe of Ledgers performance. The movie itself was a delectable combination of the best ingredients found in a horror, action and drama films. Scary, tastefully done and by far the best Batman film ever created. Bale shows the human side of his alter ego who we often tend to forget is after all just a man. A fabulous film all around and a standing ovation for Ledger.

Easily the best superhero movie to date, if not the greatest crime thriller. Heath Ledger puts on an incredible performance, and truly becomes the character of the Joker. Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne acts as Ledger's polar opposite. Together their conflict, with the effect of the new DA, Harvey Dent, The Dark Knight is one of the greatest films of 2008 and should definitely be seen in theaters, or IMAX if possible.

Yes, this movie deserves a nod from the Academy! The late Heath Ledger's performance was commanding! This is the best Batman movie to date. I know some had said it was a little dark, but I believe there was a good balance. The movie's plot was actually great and it action scenes were absolutely phenomenal! Go see this movie....you will not be disappointing. I'm getting ready to go see it a second time!

This has to be my favorite Batman movie now - and it's a sequel that deserves a sequel. Ledger's Joker was outstanding and believable and Bale's Dark Knight was wonderful as always. This is a movie I would see in the theaters again and again

The movie was very well done, but left something to be desired. On the car ride home my family and I were talking it over and all agreed, the movie was very satisfying, but didn't quite reach excellence. The trailer emboldened people with a sense of excitement. The movie on the other hand would constantly build towards something, but never reach a true moment of climax.
Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie and wouldn't dissuade anyone from seeing it, but I had really hoped for more. Heath Ledger played an amazing role, but it felt like he was only on the screen for a few short moments.

This movie, in my opinion should be nominated for Best Pictures along with some other nomations. Even thought it's long, it held my interest throughout. What makes this movie is Heath Ledger. I didn't really like the last Batman Movie.. This one Lived up to the Hype.. I did think that it almost could have been 2 movies, the ending felt a littel rushed.
Heath's performance was excellent, and very insiteful, I feel that he had to really think about the "ticks" and "twtches" that come with beign a insain, I love his "Magic Trick"! As a kid that did read some comic books, I must say that Heath's laugh as the Joker was what I always felt it should be, and even more.. However I don't know that I really get an Oscar vibe from it..
The actions seens were some of the best I have seen in a while! Yet they were not over the top and unrealistic. I would love to give more details but feel that I would ruin the movie.
I have a hard time with Christian Bale Batman, I just hate it, I think that he is a very sexy man, and he does great with the stunts, if it is even him, but the voice just works a nerve in my, I just can't stand it! I guess I am old school and still just Love Micheal Keeten!
Maggie Gillinhall, should have been Rachel in the last Batman, she is by far a more Realistic and just a better actress than Katie Holms. Maggie can make you believe that she is who she is portraying.
I love the fact that there was some political undertones that really stand out int he scean where Joker is talking to Harve, and throught the movie, just makes it seem a little more "real" when there are isues that are real but not in your face! Makes Gotham seem like a city on the North East Coast, not a fictional town. A place if you wanted to visit you really could.
Sorry for any type-o's, I hope I wasn't too vauge. I don't want to ruin it for anyone who has not seen it yet.. It is a great movie, if I had to die before one of my moive came out... this would be the one I would want to leave behind.. it is a Great accomplishment, and something the fans will never forget! Bravo!

As a huge movie buff, but never a fan of Batman, this movie was full of surprises and the ability to create a Batman lover.
Heath Ledger's performance was unsurpassed as the dark and disturbed Joker, while Christian Bale really gave the audience a connection with the masked hero.
Sure, there were a few flaws, but nothing is perfect, and with this movie, those flaws are able to be overlooked.
