The Dark Knight was a great movie, even though it didn't live up to all the hype. Heath Ledger did an awesome job as the joker and that is what made this movie and makes it worth your time and money! I don't think Christian Bale did as good of a job in this one but they didn't focus on Batman too much which could have been better. Overall, a must see but not for young kids!! They end up crying which bothers other viewers.

The best Batman yet. Heath gives a superb performance as the Joker and Christian is top notch as Batman. All around great movie - action, suspense, humor...a little dark at times and might not be appropriate for kids (although several parents brought theirs to the movie) but overall, excellent movie!

The film was excellent. Heath Ledger's performance was brilliant-a perfect swan song. All the actors gave strong performances, except Maggie Gylenhall and Gary Oldman - (they couldn't quite keep up their end of the scenes with Christian Bale or Heath Ledger). The other cast members more than made up for it, though. Heath Ledger stole the film-he deserves to win the Best Actor Oscar. He was powerful, gripping, frightening, and humorous, yet evil. He almost made you want the "bad guy" to succeed. It is a shame that the film was left open for a sequel which Heath Ledger will not be in...

I enjoyed the movie. I thought that the acting and the plot was great. My only complaint is Batman's voice! It felt so "fake" in a way. I heard someone in the theatre also say, "why is he talking like that?" It was a little annoying. Other than that it's worth the money! Enjoy!

I thought they did a very good job with the Joker. He's insane in the movie! Bale is still very good as Batman except for his horrible voice when he's in costume! Just an overall great movie whether your a Batman fan or not.

This movie was amazing...the joker is so evil that you almost forget your watching a comic book movie, and instead start thinking your watching an amazing psychological thriller...sick! However, I walked out feeling very sad =(. All I could think about was of Heath Ledger no longer being with us, and missing out on this great moment in his life.
I will see it again.

While Ledger's performance may or may not be worthy of the posthumus Oscar, it was spectacular and haunting. Bale's torchered crusader is easily the best incarnation of the comic hero. The supporting cast is phenomonal. Aside from visually stunning sets, intense awe inspiring acting, superb musical scores, and clever and entertaining writing, the action was non stop and the 152 minutes left me wanting more, now! It is rare in todays overblown hype machine that a movie lives up to it's billing, this one did, and more.

First of all, let me say if you are a big Heath Ledger fan, go see the movie because it was his finest performance. As the Joker he was delightfully demented, and probably the best Joker in the history of the Batman series, but if you are a Batman fan, don’t waste your time.
Christian Bale does a fabulous job of reviving his version of the caped crusader, and as I said, Heath Ledger is the archetype Joker. Unfortunately, in a movie that has a running time of two hours and thirty-two minutes; Bale and Ledger are probably not on the screen half of that time. Instead the movie spends too much time trying to develop the love interest between Harvey Dent/Two Face (Aaron Eckhart) and Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal).
Don’t get me wrong, I do not have a problem with a love story, but I don’t go to a Batman movie to see it, especially, when someone other than Bruce Wayne is the one getting the girl. Then they spend so much time developing the character of Commissioner Gordon.
If the movie had been one hour and forty-five minutes, and contained all of Bale and Ledgers scenes it would have been a better movie. For the first hour and fifteen minutes my biggest concern was staying awake, and might I add that I was not completely successful.
With a great cast that included Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine, director Christopher Nolan had an opportunity to make “THE” Batman movie. He did not. This movie comes up dreadfully short,
Now if you still feel that you have to see the movie take my advice. Buy tickets to the 7 o’clock show, but don’t show up till about 8:15.

My all-time favorite 2 actors Christian Bale and Heath Ledger..Ledger does NOT disapoint! He makes his role believable, not so cartoonish, and super psychotic. Bale is just always great. The Dark Knight has more of an intellectual element than the others, but a GREAT twist with Dent.. I knew he'd become 2 face as soon as I saw him with the coin!

This is unquestionably the most accomplished comic book film. It's layered with multiple themes and it is so well done that it never feels to be slowing down, but never rushed either. Absolutely brilliant.

Although I'm not an avid reader of the comic books, Batman has been my favorite super hero of all time! There is something dark and mysterious about this film that lingers with you even after you leave the theater.
A lot of good action, a lot of good moments with "The Joker." There is an extra haunting layer when you realize the man playing "The Joker" is no longer with us.
I want to see this film at least 10 more times!

Heather Ledger nailed the joker! It was a great movie, but I would not recommend for children. There is a lot of violence and a few disturbing scenes involving Two-Face. By far, this is the best Batman movie to date and I can't wait for the next one!

At the beginning of "The Dark Knight" I noticed Gotham was not the dark place it had been in previous movies. Hope of a cleaner Gotham with the mob locked away by D.A. Harvey Dent looms on the horizon. That all changes as the criminally insane Joker helps drop the city back into hell.
"The Dark Knight" is both dramatically and visually stunning. The performance by Ledger was by far, his greatest ever. In comparison to Nicholson's portrayal in 1989, Ledger's performance is superior. The Joker is a maniacal murderer rather than the goofy character in the 1989 movie. You don't come away laughing at this Joker, as he is far too demented. Some have suggested that Ledger's performance is oscar worthy and I would agree.
Christian Bale may be the best actor to ever play the Batman role. His constant struggle of being the defender of Gotham while seeking to live a "normal" life is brought to life by Bale. Supporting roles are also full of great performances.
Overall, "The Dark Knight" is the best film I've seen over the summer and there have been quite a few good films, super hero or not. I was surprised by the PG-13 rating, as there was quite a bit of violence and situations that should have earned it an R rating. Small kids beware. Overall, well worth the price of admission and next time I'll see it in imax.

loved the movie, more than the first one. but they might have made some problems for the future (or life did). the joker's a big character, unfortunately with ledger's death they have a crossroads (don't want to spoil). and two-face was another continual bad guy, and i think they may have cut out some possibilities with that character in the future. but all in all, it's a dark time for the batman and will be interested to see where it goes.

Iron Man showed us that comic book movies could reach a higher level of film-making. The Dark Knight goes even deeper, setting up an excellent crime drama that just happens to include an iconic super-hero. Ledger's Joker is the centerpiece of the film and leaves you wishing that there would someday be a sequel with him reprising the role. My only minor complaint is that the pacing of the movie felt a bit off, rushed at times and just overall a little uneven.

with all the hype built up to this movie i was worried. but after seeing it, it is better than the hype! it is easily the best movie of the year and i see this movie grossing over $300 million no problem. heath is now the front runner for best supporting actor and bale did a great job himself! i have seen it twice now and it does not dissappoint. five out of five stars
