Lives up to the hype. Maybe too dark and definitely too violent for smaller children...hire a babysitter unless you want them to be scared of clowns forever!

I'm a little baffled as to why it got such middling reviews from the critics. It's a fun movie with loads of laughs. I like how Carrell played the part of Smart with a sense of vulnerability that made him seem real, when he could have easily made him more of a parody. I thought the entire cast was fantastic.
It's exactly what it set out to be: a lighthearted, laugh-out-loud summer action comedy.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
