this movie was ah mazing. a bit intense but they made it believable which is hard to do because of all the things that couldnt happen. Was Heath Ledger great or what? Its devestating that this is the last we'll get to see of him. But if you love an exciting story with great actors, GO SEE THIS!!!

Action-packed movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I can't even find the words to describe it, you just have to see it for yourself. I would recommend it to anyone. Heath Ledger's performance was fantastic as the Joker, really amazing stuff. GO SEE IT. I'll probably see it a few more times in the theater

whether you're a fan of the series or not, you will be amazed with this movie!
the storyline was great, keeping to the original comics which is entertaining to both readers and non-readers. it included plenty of twists and had a somewhat complex plot which kept it interesting throughout the 2 1/2 hour movie
the acting was fabulous! all the hype about heath ledger's last performance is well-deserved (i guarantee you will watch and have to remind yourself that its actually him)
aaron eckhart did a great job being able to flip roles from public hero to two-face
christian bale was pretty much the same as in batman begins, no complaints here
the action and effects were awesome- the movie kept a good balance between action and keeping the story together.. definitely edge of your seat stuff!
basically, i wouldn't have taken time to write a review if it wasn't that good..
so go see it.. NOW!!! if you have already, DO IT AGAIN!!

The actions sequences and special effects were outstanding. The cast, particularly Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman, and Aaron Eckhart were outstanding. The story was exceptionally well written. This film did not disappoint. I can't wait to see it again.

Dark Knight is one of those rare films were all the pieces (acting, editing, directing, music, writing, etc.) were strong, creating an unforgettable film.
Yes, Health Ledger was incredibly frightening as the Joker. As I sat in horror about what the Joker was about to do, he does something completely different which manages to be even worse. I think Ledger's Joker is one of, if not the, best villain of any story. He even out does Shakespeare's Iago.
But Ledger was not the only incredible actor in this film. Amazingly, all of the actors were strong in this film. Christian Bale not only portrays two sides of one man (Bruce Wayne/Batman), but he conveys all of Batman's emotions with half his face covered in a mask.
It is most unusual in an action film to have both great chases and violence and still not show quite everything - ones imagination providing an image and emotional shock that are impossible to forget.
An excellent movie, but those prone to nightmares after scary movies should see something else.

Good and evil, stregnth of character, things that go bump in your life.
Weaving across the basic premise of conflict as a general principal in life Dark Knight takes the prime juxtaposition of law, morality and character and integrates these staples of drama with a complex set of life stories, life lessons and human stregnth and weakness.
Steeped in the realization that you can't always get what you want but if try sometimes you can get what you need Dark Knight pits imperfect evil against imperfet good.
This is a complex and twisted story where none of the key players involved win. Everyone looses essential elements of life and/or character.
Yet hope in Gotham survives as self sacrifice bedded in hidden truths and ourtight lies leaves a second reckoning of pure good and evil on the horizon.
The drama is not over as the movie ends with many painful truths threatening to destroy all that they hoped to save despite their heavy personal losses to preserve the illusion of continuity in Gotham.
The sequel to this story line could well provide yet another winner.
In the mean time this movie simply rocks the house.
Dark Knight is excellent entertainment all around with acting so intense and on spot that the characters come to full life. The action scenes are perfect, the stunts are amazing, the visuals are breath taking.
This is not a movie for young children, the themes are dark, the drama intense and the content will be over many of their little heads.

This movie by far is the best Batman movie eeeeeeveeeeeeerrrrrrrrr. I thought Heath Ledger playing the clown prince of evil is just going to ruin the Joker image but instead he took it to another level (sorry Jack). I am a big Batman fan from the times of Mr. West and this is not being bias this is real talk. Go watch the movie. It's the best thing you can do with a little amount of money. R.I.P to Heath Ledger.

Movie does have some slower, character developing parts. Could have shortened film by 30 minutes and still been just as good. But, I suppose the extra 30 minutes makes you feel like you definitely get your money's worth. Obviously, though, a film no one should miss. Greatest Batman Film yet. Action fans will be wondering why DC can't do as good a job as Marvel in the action scene department. Not a movie I immediately wanted to see again, like Ironman.....but I still enjoyed it, being a fan of Batman.

This is the best batman movie - superheroe movie for that matter - ever made! I am impressed with how well Christopher Nolan is able to make the premise of Batman feel so real. While watching the movie you feel like the whole thing could actually happen.

"The Dark Knight" succeeds where all other comic book movies have failed thus far. Most comic book movies succeed primarily as summer blockbuster popcorn flicks. "The Dark Knight" succeeds as a film.
First of all, Heath Ledger plays the most convincing villain in years. Unlike the performances of several other Batman villains from the past series from the likes of Jim Carey, Tommy Lee Jones, Jack Nicholson, and Arnold schwarzenegger, you never look at his Joker and say "That's Heath Ledger." You say "That's the Joker." His performance also deserves massive amounts of awards.
Christian Bale continues to play the tormented hero. Whilst Bruce Wayne was at first tormented by the fact that his parents died in "Batman Begins", he is now tormented by the fact that he cannot be with the woman that he loves dearly. Add on the massive amount of injuries he sustains every night, and you can understand where maybe he would want to retire sometime in the future.
Rachel Dawes, the woman of Bruce Wayne's life, is now played by Maggie Gyllenhaal. Whilst she does respect the character that Katie Holmes created, she also improves the character. Whilst Katie Holmes could only express her emotions through dialogue, Maggie Gyllenhaal can express her emotions through dialogue, mannerisms, and facial expressions. Basically, Gyllenhaal is a real actress, and Katie Holmes should stick to teen soaps.
Harvey Dent is played by Aaron Eckhart. His performance, whilst less memorable than Heath Ledger's Joker, is definitely still an improvement over past interpretations of Harvey Dent. "Gotham's White Knight" has a genuine fall from grace. It is entertaining to see his character at the beginning of the movie and to see his character at the end of the movie.
Gary Oldman gave another outstanding performance. It is always nice to have this down-to-earth character in the movies. It really makes the movies for me. Whilst Harvey Dent, Bruce Wayne, and The Joker have several big picture ideas, James Gordon has small picture ideas, like protecting his family. That makes his character very sympathetic.
Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine have very small roles in the film. But, their roles are expertly performed. Alfred and Lucius Fox each play male role models in Bruce's life. And, they each help Batman on his quest in their own way. Alfred gives emotional support, and Lucius gives him all those fun gadgets.
Overall, I'd have to say that this movie is the masterpiece of all comic book movies, and also succeeds very well as a crime drama. If you were to change the faces and names of this movie, and turn Batman from a caped crusaders to a private detective who busts criminals (Basically what his job description is anyway), the movie would still make money. That is the difference between a movie that requires a name to sell tickets, and a movie that raises the expectations when you hear that name.

This is one rollercoaster ride of a movie. Non-stop action and an andrenal rush throughout. Heatlh Ledger as the Joker was phenomenal and Christian Bales is a compelling Batman, Though in this movie, Batman appears to be a secondary character to Joker. Heath Ledger really was that good.

Just when you think it's over, they give you another half hour to wrap things up. Twas a bonus I must say. I most certainly did not mind the length of this film. Made it worth the eight dollar MATINEE ticket. If you don't see this movie, I just don't think you and your friends will ever have anything to talk about ever again.

This movie was worth braving the crowds for an opening weekend... Christian Bale never disappoints and neither did any of this all-star cast... though I liked the original Rachel better. I didn't expect to accept anyone but Jack as the Joker but Heath Ledger was truly creepy and very convincing! The movie never lagged and I jumped in my seat several times.
