A Truly Terrifying and Dramatic Work

While the movie flaunts much of the usual Batman "cool" throughout (including a new array of high tech gadgets and a motorcycle), The Dark Knight is a remarkably well written film that asks the audience just how far a hero can go before he crosses the line into darkness. Heath Ledger's Joker is easily one of the most terrifying villains ever to grace the cinema screen - described in the movie as a man with "no rules" and someone who "just wants to watch the world burn," he is a one-man show who changes overnight from an unknown thug into a universally feared "freak" who holds the city and its people in the palm of his hand. Dark, intelligent, and dramatic, this movie plays on the human psyche to create a masterful work movie-goers have to experience.

I brought 6 boys, age 10-12 to the movie.
They all loved it. They are still talking about it today. They are even watching the other Batman movies again. There was alot of action for them. The joker was terrific, but they also liked the Aaron Eckhart character.

Dark Knight definitely lives up to the hype and Heath Ledger's performance as Joker was incredible. Darker than Batman Begins, I'm not sure it's a great one for the little ones, but worth seeing for the adults! The psychology behind the criminals was particularly interesting.

A really dark movie thrown over the backdrop of our current culture of terrorism -- it has a lot of in-depth observations about humans. Heath Ledger is creepy and awesome -- people in the theater laughed as he threatened to kill, which seemed odd, but that's how well he played the psychotic jokester.

I thought this movie was going to be a little stupid since I didn't like batman toouch; but this movie was amazing! The actors were magnificent, and the story line is too great to tell about. So, even if you are not such a great fan of batman, I would still suggest seeing this movie, I can garentee to you that it will be a life changing experience.

From the minute the movie started I was hooked. There were so many twists and turns that I did not anticipate. I was worried that the trailers were giving away too much but they didn't even scratch the surface. Heath Ledger was awesome in this movie. He was believably creepy/crazy. I am telling everyone that I know to see this movie.

The reason why the movie was so frightening is becasue the director made the setting so much more realistic than batman begins. He left all the clues that they were filming in chicago in the movie which made it seem way more close to home than I ever thought. Ledger's performance was chilling and perfect.

This was a great movie. My favorite character was the Joker. Heath Ledger did a great job in his character...its a shame he won't be here to do another one. The movie moved along so quickly. Even though it has a running time of 2 1/2 hours, the time flew by! I would recommend this movie highly.

The Dark Knight is a movie that raises the bar for superhero films. The movie has an excellent cast and an incredibly sadistic performance from Heath Ledger. While not as good as Iron Man, this film is also a completely different premise and executes it perfectly. Everyone should see this movie.

DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE - it is way too violent and does not get any better - it's too intense. No children should see under the age of 17, but it is really not necessary to have all the intensity in the movie. I was so disappointed with the ending - it left me feeling numb and upset. I would never see this movie or recommend it to anyone. it's just hyped up because of the excellent acting job - but it is not worth it. This is why our society is turning so dark. Please stay away from this movie.

This was the first time in awhile that I rushed out to see a movie and boy was it worth it!!! From begining to end it was action packed and just like the cartoon. This movie was awsome! I had every single emotion possible, I laughed, I was scared, I was angry, I was in awe, all the way to wanting to cry. Heath Ledger did a great job at playing the joker. The over all movie was just great! I don't recomend for little ones. It's rated PG-13 for a reason. I saw some little kids in there and at some parts I was thinking oh my God that little kid is watching this. Go see it! I want to see it again, And will buy when it comes out!

This is the Batman movie I've been waiting for my whole life. There was never a point where I thought it became unbelievable or cartoonish like some of the other ones. The acting was amazing and the actual surroundings added the perfect mood. Maybe the most stressful film I've seen in years, but rewarding nonetheless.

The Dark Knight was fantastic, Heath Ledger out did himself and its tragic he will not be around to continue the saga. The graphics were great and the story line was awesome. It has to be one of the best Batman movies to date. The only one person I did not like was the actress who played Rachel, she wasnt the right person for the role.

Much had been said about this movie in such a short time. All of it is true. The elements of good vs evil are all there but with a new twist. The bad guy is truely and honestly perfect. I had high expectations for this movie. Like a lot of movies there was a lot of hype. That can sometimes ruin a movie, however The Dark Knight lived up to it all. It was fantastic! This is one of the best comic book movies (from DC) I have ever seen. Even though it was a bit long, I would have been very disappointed if they didn't include everything that was in it. I was very impressed and if it wasn't sold out tonight, I would go see it again (and try to get better seats). Also, we are visiting Chicago right now, so there was no better place to see this movie. The people was thrilled and could not wait to see their city as part of such a huge (record-breaking) movie.
We saw the 10:15 pm show opening night, got there about 45 minutes early and still had to sit on the 3rd row from the front (we were only 2 people).
