The Dark Knight suprised me from beginning to end. Health Ledger was the best joker of all time. I cannot imagine the mind-set he had to get himself into in order to play such a sick and twisted villian. He went above and beyond getting into the head of Joker.
The actions scenes throughout Dark Knight put me on my feet. I especially enjoyed the chase scene on Wacker Drive in downtown Chicago (so close to home!)
Christian Bale played the part of Batman in a way that brought more life to his character than any previous Batman Films.
I loved it! Best film of the summer, by far!

I just had rented Batman Begins the other night because of the hype around the upcoming release of the Dark Knight and I was absolutely thrilled and blown away by Batman Begins and last night, opening night I saw the Dark Knight. OH my goodness was I doubly impressed by this movie. The action scenes were phenomenal and the acting amazing. Truly was I blown away by the special effects as well. I absolutely LOVED the motorcycle that Batman got out of his car! Also all throughout the movie I was surprised at what happened it really kept me guessing what would happen! Heath Ledger had a blowout of a last movie may he rest in peace!
My only and little disappointment was Maggie Gyllenhaal's acting. I just don't think her style of acting fit the role of Rachel.

TDK easily lived up to all the hype surrounding it. I was glued to my seat for the entire 2 1/2 hours. Heath Ledger's performance is one for the ages and the rest of the amazing cast did not disappoint.
I can't wait to see this again!

If it wasn't for the Joker, played by the late Heath Ledger, I don't think this movie would have been worth seeing. At a generous (too generous) two and a half hours, the plot seemed to drag on, get confusing, over-ambitious, and a lot of things were left out. I feel as if I struggled to see and feel the real Batman in this movie- it just didn't capture what Batman is all about. It was almost like, Harvey Dent's character, plus the Joker, with a side of some poorly acted Batman. But, the villians were quite brilliant, and the film was somewhat enjoyable, though I was left yearning for more. Three stars.

Im not a big fan of the Batmans except the original but my husband wanted to go and I have to admit I really enjoyed it! The JOKER did his thing he made the movie. Also Batmans new toys were HOT ;)

Great - lives up to all expectations; maybe HL will get best actor nod. Batman and Joker disappear for a little too long 1.5 hours in. Thought Twoface was unnecessary, as the multiple villain route is what destroyed the last Batman franchise. Does that left eye work? How does he blink?

Just go see the movie. Forget about reading the reviews, or wondering if it's worth the price of the ticket. Don't wait for it on DVD (but buy it on DVD the moment it is available). Better than "Batman Begins", and "Batman", "Batman Returns", "Batman and Robin", and "Batman Forever" look even worse than before.

This is all the usual stuff; car chases, explosions, fights, all the things you expect in a Batman/Superhero movie. Everything you've heard about Heath Ledger's performance is true, he is fantastic as the Joker. His character really draws you in as you try to figure out his motivation. All that makeup can't hide his facial expressions which make the character so real. I know they don't give awards to action movies, but Ledger's performance certainly deserves one!

Amazing performances by all actors especially by the late Heath Ledger as the Joker. The story was great with all kinds of unexpected twists. I would watch it again and again and definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a great movie whether you like super heroes or not.

The best way to characterize "The Dark Knight" is as a work of art. Heath Ledger became Joker in all of its essence and lived out each scene in the same way the symphony embodied the score. And of course, Christian Bale left nothing out in his dual role of Bruce Wayne / Batman -- he was no more or less one than the other, yet never showed his hand to link the two. The plot, moral dilemmas, personal conflicts, and ultimate resolution were nothing less than a masterpiece. I highly recommend it!

Every other film from here on out, whether comic-related or not, is going to be compared to the incredible acting, suspense, action, and emotion that The Dark Knight has brought to the table.
The trailers, as cool as they are, simply have not prepared you for the actual premise of this film. The Joker supersedes the role of just a backdrop villain because his actions have a specific, and understandable motive. As insane as his personality is, within the first 5 minutes of the movie the audience and I realized just how brilliant he is.
Oh, and the batmobile and batpod sequences are absolutely incredible. If you're all about action, this flick will not let you down.

Tremendous. Soars beyond the boundaries placed on superhero movies and can be more easily compared to The Departed and The Untouchables than to Spider-Man and Superman. Oh, and it's by far better than those four movies. Heath Ledger's performance is destined to become as legendary as the character he portrays and the other principle actors nearly match him at each step. Incredibly written, acted, and directed, The Dark Knight is an action-packed, story-packed, intense, and pitch-black thriller that awes from beginning to end - a masterpiece.

I was worried because all the reviews were hyping this film up so much. I was afraid it wouldn't meet my expectations, but no matter how much this movie is hyped up it is better. This movie was absolutely amazing and did not disappoint for a second. The Joker was hilarious and there were so many unexpected twist and turns. Best Batman movie yet!

The Dark Knight is a phenomenal film in almost every conceivable way. It is proof that mainstream Hollywood films can be good and at the end of the day this film and the few others like it are the reason I hate most Hollywood films. You see they don't have to be as bad as they usually are and TDK is proof of this. This film also proves that films based on comic book super heroes don't have to be childish and silly. Here we have a film that deals with tough issues that are quite relevent to our times and I'm certain the times to come. Should we despair at a world that is tearing itself apart or fight back? Is such a fight futile and what if in the process of mounting such an effort we become what it is we sought to vanquish. The are but a few of the questions I felt this film asked me. It is of note that it managed to pose such questions w/o seeming overly didactic or preachy. As far as the cinematic elements...they are all working quite well in this film. Cinematography is briliant with emphasis on a bland/cool colour pallette that is certainly apropriate. It shoudl also be noted that this has to be one of the best paced two and a half hour films I've bore witness to. It never slows down and when its over you are ready for more. Lastly one cant not mention Heath Ledger's remarkable performance as The Joker. One of the great comic book villains finally gets a worthy portrayal on the big screen. I'm certain that in the years to come I will have much more to say about this film so I will end this statement by proclaiming TDK as one of the best films I've seen in years period.

Simply put, this is the best film to come out this year, by far. It exceeds expectations. It is adult material to be sure, since it's quite dark. It is a must-see!
