By far and away the best superhero movie ever. Moreso than the story, the acting was top notch and really shows how competant actors can carry a "popcorn" flick into something much more. And Heath Ledger's performance is beyond words..

I don't even have the words to express what a triumph in, not only moviemaking in general, boldness and bravery of comic book adaptations this movie achieves. Every character is outstanding and The Joker was, by far, the best villain ever to be created and acted. I just don't have the words to say what I feel about this movie. But, I will say that YOU MUST SEE IT!

The Joker (H. Ledger) is the best villain i have ever seen in a movie. He truly embodies the Joker in every form, from the creepy lickin of himself to the demented laugh. Single handedly makes the movie well worth your money. Stunts are out of this world and the acting done by every single actor/actress is perfect. Yea i know its 2 hours and 50 minutes but it is a necessity, for once someone made a complete sequel movie. Lets put it like this...if they never and i mean never make another batman movie again, The Dark Knight will make up for it!

Great acting, very fast paced and original, not a lot of the same old stuff. The audience in our theater applauded and cheered at a couple scenes. My only caution to viewers would be that its a very intense movie.

This movie was my most anticipated this year, and it delivered 110%. I was so pleased with it. The action scenes and special effects were so intricate, and I was connected to every split second of them because I cared so much about everyone involved. Chris Nolan, is a brilliant, brilliant director. Everyone else was as I expected, pitch perfect in their performances. Of course Heath, but everyone else too. Worth the wait, and worthy of the hype. I hope it breaks the record for highest grossing B.O. weekend. It deserves to.

Very powerful disturbing film. Not for kids. A bit long and repetitive at the end; climax after climax, after climax. Excellent on all levels of craft. But it is dark, dark, dark. It kind of disturbs me our society finds something this dark to be a box office hit. Saving Private Ryan had as much or more violence, but with that you walk away having been inspired and having learned something. With this you just walk away, after having been dragged through the gutter.

I often complain that most super-hero films aren't 'Batman Beginsy' enough. 'Batman Begins' set the bar high for a new, darker, more expositional super-hero film and the Dark Knight has managed to follow up very appropriately. It is more action-driven than 'Batman Begins', as it should be. It swaps far-fetched and cartoonish action characteristic of other films in the genre for gritty, psychological drama. Heath Ledger's performance does live up to the hype. The Dark Knight serves as proof that super-hero films need not sacrifice large returns at the box office simply because they want to be geared to a more mature audience.

I remember seeing the original batman with my freinds in high school, that was when movies were fun and an "event". This film was like nothing i'de seen before, it felt "real" with characters and a story, and it seemed more like it wanted to be a film than a punchline, speaking to the viewers with respect and integrety.
Ledger? I can't even express how powerful his performance was, i was quoting him all the way home, and that says something when someone like me relates more to the villian than the hero.
if they made more movies with this much integrity, honesty, story, and passion, the movie business would do much better.

This new series of Batman movies has been the best yet. Christian Bale plays the perfect dark knight. He has that darkside to him that Batman has and he brings it out perfectly. But the star of this movie was not expected, Heath Ledger blew everyone out of the water with his Joker performance! Prior to his role as joker I thought that no one could out do Jack Nicholson's Joker. The Joker character isent suposed to be that much silly but more scary and psycotic, which Nicholson did very well but Ledgers performance was uncanny! During this movie I kept tring to picture Ledger with out the make up and tring to put that Auzie voice with the Joker and I just couldent! I've never seen an actor become so involved with his character. I was just totally blown away by this movie and dident see this as being as good as it was. I can diffently say the actors and writers of Dark Knight raised the bar on all the other comic movies to follow.

This movie is really getting back to Batman and his enemies' roots. Its not about sugar coating and making a "family friendly" super hero. It shows the inner darkness of the hero and the torment he goes through to be a hero. Setting up the bad guys, who aren't just bad to be bad, but actually giving a reason for why they are the way the are. This movie was incredible and I recommend it to everyone over the age of 13!

Action-packed film with impressive performances by Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhardt, as well as Christian Bale as Batman. Director Chris Nolan has done a superb job here. Ledger's performance is dark, creepy, corrupt, psychotic and upsetting. He really immersed himself right into that role. It's such a tragedy that he is gone and will not have an opportunity to wow more people and break into bigger films. The film moves seamlessly as the Caped Crusader works with Lt Gordon (Gary Oldman) and D.A. Harvey Dent (Eckhardt) to destroy those who have corrupted Gotham city.

This is the best movie of the year so far. Go see early and often! Yes, Heath ledger's performance as The Joker is amazing as is the writing of this character, but it would be a great disservice to the rest of the talented cast to only single out this member. They all step up to the plate and knock it out of the park.

The movie was, in my opinion, the greatest and most accurate portrail of Batman ever. It was dark, horrifying, and morally challenging. But what upsets me most now, is the simple fact that Heath Ledger has passed. At first, I didn't have much care, but after seeing his performance as the Joker I wish things were different. Such potential to be wasted in such an unfortunate event. He was amazing, the Joker made you fear for your life, and laugh about it all at the same time. His motives are mysterious and haunting. And after seeing the movie, I just wanted to cause a little chaos myself. If you got fired up by Batman Begins, then The Dark Knight is a must!

One of the best movies I've seen this year. Heath Ledger was outstanding, the visual effects were fantastic. Script was good, which is unusual for comic book movies. This didn't feel like the stereotypical comic book movie at all, and I do feel that it has absolutely transcended the genre.
Two problems: the whole China sequence and Batman's gravelly voice. But that's IT.
