Excellent movie, stand up performances, action packed... Excited for the next batman. It didn't bother me about Heath Ledger until after i saw his performance, no one else will live up to it.

Ledger had a great performance, too bad the surrounding cast was so weak. He did not get nearly enough screen time and I wish they had fleshed out his character a bit more, ditto Wayne. Too much Gordon, his character just wasnt interesting enough to get all that time.
Maggie Gyllenhaal was surprisingly decent. She's a bit painful to look at and no part of me wants to see her naked but she held her own.
Bale was better as Bruce Wayne than he was as Batman. His Batman voice was bloody awful.
The story got convoluted at times in the second half. I lost the story about for about 10 minutes at one point before I picked it back up. I found it hard to recall who was who at one point because the story jumped and moved so quickly, illogically actually. It jumped around in too many places and there was too much time between action sequences.
Very good summer flick, worth seeing it but don;t get your expectations too high.

I trynot to hype myself up too much when seeing high profile movies, but I couldn't help myself with this one. It DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Incredible acting by Christian Bale and Heath Ledger. Chills brought on by the Joker(played by Ledger) made this a very dark film that was impossible to turn away from. I had to go to the restroom, but held it for the final 45 mins of the film.
2:30 hrs of enjoyment.

Fantastic movie. Ledger delivers as does Oldman and Eckhart. Bale, Freeman and Caine are exceptional actors who have slipped on the roles of Wayne, Fox and Pennyworth with obvious ease and comfort.
Some obvious continuity problems for fanboys- but not so disturbing as to not enjoy the story.
I have been reading Batman comics for over thirty years.
Most of the graphic violence is implied or hidden, but still would not take children under the age of thirteen.
RIP HL

When someone like Christopher Nolan, who has succeeded on his own terms on an independent level, takes up the reigns of a franchise or a blockbuster, I am generally dissappointed with the decision. Granted, I understand why they do it, they think that they will be the exception, that they will be the ones to infuse the blockbuster/franchise with meaning and artistry. Mostly, they fail. Batman Begins, to me, on that level, was a failure.
The Dark Knight is Christopher Nolan's redemption. It puts to shame all other superhero movies, action movies, and perhaps just movies in general that blankly teach us one moral lesson. The Dark Knight teaches us nothing, but it brimming with interwoven moral dilemas, decisions between bad and worse that must be made and the consequences dealt with, from start to tragic finish.
Given that kind of framework, it's no surprise that the actors shine almost without exception. Never overly long, but rather somehow thoroughly satisfying depite its gut-wrenching turns, it is somehow two movies for the price of one.
If Batman Begins was a necessary step to arrive at The Dark Knight, it was all very much worth it.

The movie was an excellent improvement over the prior incarnations of the Joker and Two-Face. There were enough twists at the end to make you think that the movie was over at least 4 different times. After the first few twists, I started to get tired of the length of the movie.

I liked Batman for the spectacle, but I thought many characters could use a lot more development in order to make the viewer care about them. Ledger's Joker was great; he didn't fall out of character once. The action sequences were mainly very good, however a few of them were filmed too closely to fully appreciate the choreography. Overall, a very good movie that was fully enjoyed, particularly in the superhero vein.

I saw it last night at 11, lines were long, long wait, all worth it to see Ledger shine. I can't imagine them trying to replace him for any future batman movies. His performance is unparalleled to any other performance i have seen in a long time. This is not only action packed in the good city of Chicago but it's easy to get sucked in by the intricacy of the joker's games. The comedy is smart and the overall performance was just out of this world.

Thanks for the effort to produce something worth reflecting back on ans the sacrifice of the actors to produce it. I am glad you did not shorten the time, every thing had a sufficant moment to be explained to mind and heart, thus creating a movie one can submerse one self in and associate real life exsperiences with.

I had extremely high expectations for this movie...and it did not let me down. The story line was intrigueing to say the least. It's the story we all know and love with twists and turns that you will love. The special effects were amazing with such a life-like feel. I was thoroughly entertained. It was absolutely magnificent.

The movie was very action packed, star-studded cast, and Heath Ledger's performance as the sadistically dark Joker is Oscar worthy. The only drawbacks was the 2 hr 40 minute run time which was a bit long and the mournful anticipation of Ledger's replacement in any sequels to come. It will be one big shadow to overcome.

The Dark Knight was well written, action-packed and included an exceptional cast of characters. It was the perfect combination of suspense and humor. The actor playing Batman was charming and handsome--what every superhero should be. There is no swearing in the movie which was a pleasant surprise. I recommend this for family entertainment for kids over age 8. There were a lot of fear and violence sequences so I would not take a child under 8 years old to see this movie. Overall, very well done and entertaining!

As this is the prologue in many ways it fit that-great action and adventure, but don't come looking for a storytale ending-you won't get it! It was a ride all the way and has various comments that make you think...I mean really think. That is why it is poetic in it's scope. worth seeing though.

When I first heard that there would be another Batman movie my first reaction was, "Ughhh" But my parents in turn dragged me into the theater and made me sit. Well I ended up loving it to say the least. Heath Ledgers performance was so sickening that it made the movie perfect. I most definitely recommend this movie to anyone!

Saw the movie last night and still cannot get over how well this was done. I really hate going into a movie with high expectations as I almost always come away feeling slighted. I was very concerned that this one would do the same, especially since I grew up in the '80s and Tim Burton's Batman with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson as the Joker was a huge hit for me as a kid. This film was incredible! Well written, directed, acted, and produced. Ledger was absolutely amazing and we will truly miss his pressence as he was certainly just getting better with every film he was a part of. Everything from the special effects to the lighting was spot on! Consider this a must see.
