I thought the movie was very well done. I liked the story and definitely believe Heath Ledger deserves and Oscar for his performance as the Joker.
The one negative thing about the movie I noticed was the change in the character Rachel. In the previous adaptation she was an up and coming firebrand of a DA and in this movie she was "just another DA". I also felt that Maggie Gyllenhaal didn't have the same drive that her character's previous incarnation had.

Like most people I hoped the movie to be great for the sake of the late Heath Ledger, and his performance, and the flow of the movie altogether was spectacular. The monologue and dialogue was just the right length and drew every emotion from the crowd from laughter to shock. The movie also handled the amount of villains quite well unlike a certain web-slinging hero movie that came out last year.
Every character had sort of a double personality (hinting towards something maybe?). I didn't see the movie in IMAX, I will definitely see it a second time or even a third if I find anyone who didn't see this movie yet, it is that good.

I figured like i'm sure others were that the movie wasn't going to be that excellent and it was being played up following the death of Heath Ledger. But it was amazing! Everything about the movie just out did my expectations.

this movie was the best movie in a long time. ongoing action for 2.5 hours! keeps you thinking and heath ledger was amazing. No better acting out there anywhere. dont bring little kids they will have nightmares. the movie is very enticing and you wont be bored at all! it is also very disturbing but that makes the joker's character great. EVERYONE will love this movie!

Very entertaining, fantastic seamless special effects that dont look computer generated at all. Well done and worth the money. The Joker steals the show & surely entertaining the whole way through! Heath Ledger will certainly recieve a well deserved Academy nomination also. Casting directer is a genious...but still not sure about Batman though. Sadley Batman appears to sometimes have a speech impediment? (or maybe a by- product of movie teeth?). A few sprinkles of humor is a nice touch along with a few teeny plot twists but over all very predictable. Too bad. I was hoping to be blown out of my seat and to have a desire to clap at the end uncountrollably...but instead it just left me a bit flat. I'd rate it a 9 out 10.

Heath's take on the joker is spot on. This is the best comic adaption to date. The movie is rooted in the real world and you actually believe the events that unfold could actually happen in any major metropolitan city. Hard to believe The Dark Knight avoided the "R" rating with its extreme dark tone. If you can, you MUST experience this movie in IMAX. You will not regret it.

This was the best movie of the summer. It has been rare this summer to have good writing, acting, and action. This movie has it all. It keeps you glued to the screen from beginning to end. If you love a great dark movie then the Dark Knight is for you.

This movie will go down in history as a "new" trend in movies -- showing the dark side of "heroes". Expect the trend to continue. This movie will leave you speechless -- you could have heard a pin drop at the end of it from a record crowd. People really got sucked into it -- believing it was not really a movie -- but almost real. The dark side of this movie will affect you, young children should be harshly cautioned with attending because it will leave a mark. I remember the effects of Exorcist, it also started a new trend. Expect more movies shortly with Psych based dark side twists where you would not expect them. What has happened is the audience for movies like Saw are bored and so now movies are searching to "mess with" other theatre goers who would never see something like Saw. They are going to take a new audience of viewers to the dark side and God knows what will happen as they expect more -- might be the end of family movies where the good and bad is clearly defined. Sort of like why preachers listen to Howard Stern -- they hate him but listen anyway. In my opinion, this movie was a 6 star event, very believeable, and showed raw talent and execution from start to finish. Just be careful if you think this is just another positive hero movie -- it is going to take you on a trip you might not be prepared for. After 12 hours -- the movie is still with me.

This rendition of the classic Batman tale, steeped in Frank Miller's storied presentation of the DC vigilante is clearly the best Batman film to date and may be remembered as one of the best, if not the penultimate, comic book movie adaptations of all time. Good stories are all about character, and this film is replete with exploration and development of both its primary and secondary characters.
Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker was as startling as advertised, his immersion in the mind of a true psychopath both disturbing and fascinating to watch. While he will undoubtedly get the lion's share of the attention from this film both due to his performance and the apparent impact it had on him personally, the rest of the cast should not be overlooked. Bale's Bruce Wayne was certainly as good as any we've seen and supporting cast members such as Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and of course the irreplaceable Michael Caine, all turned in outstanding scenes that continue to make the viewer hope that they can all be convinced to reprise their roles in any future films.
It can be argued that the film felt less like a single story and more like two separate films crammed into one. The Joker and Two-Face arcs, while interconnected, felt as though they were forcibly shoved into the same can of film when they might have each stood alone quite well. Despite that underlying feeling of having too much for one movie and not enough for two though, the story progresses well enough and keeps the viewer engaged throughout.
All in all, a most spectacular film and certainly the best action movie of this, or many previous years. Missing it in the theatre would be a crime of Gotham-esque proportions.

Dark Knight was an excellent movie. It lived up to all the hype. I think that Heath Ledger's the Joker was amazing, the perfect combination of evil and insanity. I would definitely recommend this movie to others.

Classic film. The spectacular special effects not withstanding, this film stands as a psychological thriller, an examination of social and individual morality, a tale of internal torment between the forces of good and evil and in-depth examination of the mind and heart of darkness that continually fight against but fails to conquer the good within us.
