The Dark Knight is a great movie. The story explores the escelation in crime that resulted from Batman's occuption of Gotham. Heath Leadger, as the Joker, put a unigue spin on the Joker and showed him to be very ruthless. There is much action in The Dark Knight and the story is very dinamic. Everyone should see this movie.

Batman Begins was a welcome edition to the Batman franchise. While that movie was amazing it is nothing in comparison to this sequel. Heath Ledger deserves an oscar for his portrayal of the joker. This movie is a sign of wonderful things to come for Christian Bale and this franchise.

Best Joker Ever. The Movie may be called The Dark Knight, but Heath Ledger as the Joker steals the show! I was waiting for any scene where Mr. Ledger broke from character... it didn't happen. I thought the previews might make any given scene with The Joker less spooky... again didn't happen. Eckhart was very good, Bale, Caine, Oldman, were good to very good.

The movie is long but certainly entertaining. Heath Ledger's performance was haunting. Haunting because he nails the psychopathic villain and as my friend said, "makes you forget you are watching an actor act." The movie tries to allow the audience to truly understand the dark side of human nature and the psychological reasons Batman is who he is and why the villains are the way they are. I enjoyed the movie immensely, but I wouldn't take a child under 13 to see it. It has a lot of shooting and violence, and it made me feel immune to a close range gun shot half way through the movie.

I really thought it was a good movie. They dragged it out longer than I thought was necessary but the performances were fantastic. I would definitely recommend seeing this movie.

Heath Ledger gives an amazing and haunting performance as the best villain in any 'comic book movie' I've ever seen. This movie goes so far beyond being just a comic book movie, it has more of a crime drama feel than that of a Batman movie. Amazing story accompanied by amazing performances from the entire cast. A few surprises were also a nice touch. Overall the movie blew my mind. I will be seeing it a few more times before it leaves theaters.

Wow. I can't remember the last time a saw a movie and felt like when I left the theater it was my first full breath in 2 1/2 hours! Every character was well written and well acted. There are enough positive reviews out there so I'm just going to say go see it, even if "comic book" movies aren't your thing. Remove the costumes and this is just a great crime drama. I'm going to have to check it out in IMAX next. Oh, and see it before you take children and judge for yourselves if you think they can see it. It is very intense.

Now let me start by saying that it was a very good movie, and that Ledger's performance was the best of his career and possibly Oscar nomination worthy but... I really can't believe how many people are saying this movie was "amazing" or "great". First of all, Maggie Gyllenhaal's performance was awful. I don't understand how an audience can be expected to ignore the fact that Rachel Dawes went from being a beautiful, sexy, young looking woman to an older looking, mildly attractive at best woman. Now, if they got Holmes back to play a roll that she did an excellent at, then the movie might have been great and amazing, but Gyllenhaal's performance is woeful.
The cinematography approaches annoying at time. The 360 degree camera circles were clever for a few seconds, but after 3 rotations the only thing it does is make the watcher a little dizzy and annoyed. The climax is also way to long, and there are parts of the story line that are undeveloped and pointless. For instance, the inclusion of the Hong Kong business man was a waste of time. His role in the movie could have easily been pasted to the new head of the mob family and would have made more sense, cut out 30 mins of pointless storyline, and built credibility with the watcher. I wasn't upset that the movie was long, it was a fine length, the time was just not used correctly.
On to Ledger. He really did an amazing job, but it took him a while to work into it. It may have just been the nature of the role, but at the beginning he did not make a very believable villain. It is too his credit that by the end of the movie he truly embodies the role perfectly. However, I will emphasize that his performance was nomination worthy, but not Oscar worthy (winning). His performance was the best of the season so far, and if this years winter is as weak as last years he may very well win, but if he was still alive today the best he could hope for is a nomination, the best. Bale, Eckhart, Freeman, Cain, and Oldman all did a solid job, but in order for a movie to be great the romantic story line of the movie has to be believable and well preformed, Gyllenhaal fails on both accounts.
I hope they continue the series, the first 2 movies have been quite enjoyable, but I am glad Gyllenhaal wont be returning.

One of my favorite movies was Batman Begins. I was very excited to see The Dark Knight. It was well worth the wait! The movie was so good. All of us that went loved it. I thought this was an excellent movie with a very intriguing plot and great dialogue, especially from the Heath Ledger Joker character. This is a very good representation of the modern day "Dark Knight" with a great representation of the modern day Joker. There were very few flaws in this movie. One of the main flaws was the casting of Maggie Gyllenhall as Rachel Dawson. I do not believe she was a very good stand in for Katie Holmes. Her acting and her looks left a lot to be desired. There were also a few plot endings that should have been changed due to the death of Heath Ledger, but overall, this was still a great movie.

The Dark Knight started off with a bang and kept bringing the heat through all 2 1/2 hours of it! It was absolutely wonderful and Heath Ledger has definitely left his mark. He deserves a Golden Globe, a SAG and an Oscar for his outstanding portrayal of The Joker. Christian Bale's harsh whisper was a little grating towards the end and sounded painful, actually. I feel sorry for his vocal cords after his demanding performance. Maggie Guylenhall was an excellent and very appropriate casting decision as Rachel, as the previous Rachel does not have the acting chops to pull off the torment and strength required in The Dark Knight. Overall, the movie was wonderful and I can't wait to see it again...

I believe that the whole Dark Knight series puts a twist on what the past Batman movies offered. Christian Bale and Heath Ledger did fanastic acting jobs. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves superhero movies especially comic fans.

I was excited by all the hype, but concerned that the hype might raise my expectations too high.
The opposite happened.
Regardless of the hype, I was blown away.
Batman Begins was amazing, but the Dark Knight takes the cake.

I was very very pleased with this movie. It captures you in the first 10 secs with the bank robbery. From there it was a roller coaster of violence, drama and action. I would see this movie again and again.
