wonderful movie. Heath Ledger did a fabulous job. Dead or alive he deserves recognition for his work. He stole the show . Christian Bale did a fine job as well! He does the best portraying the character but did over do the voice change from Bruce Wayne to Batman.

Nolan creates some of the most memorable views of city skylines from atop skyscraper buildings and has one of the most riveting soundtracks that goes largely unnoticed because everyone is focused on what the joker will do next (and rightfully so). Ledger isn't int he movie too much or too little. Every scene he is in is potent and creepy enough to almost make you start rooting for him by the end of the movie

very well made
quite a lot of symbolism, i noticed
still, i have the same concerns about this one as i did before
once again, the whole bat-mobile thing
not cool
love the motorcycle though, thats snappy
and i think batman is played off to be a little more villainous than he should
though,
i like the random brutality
and the slightly disturbing images [although, slightly disturbing =P]
overall, it was good
i'd like to see it again
and fully gain the whole concept
but i think i'll wait until it comes out on dvd
the final question is: who will be the sequel's villain?
[is it REALLY that painfully obvious?or are the writers playing a trick on us?]
i, for one, will be HIGHLY disappointed if they decide to have a return of the joker
unless they can pull jack nicholson to play him, i honestly see no point
OH, i still don't like eric eckhart, i don't know if i can stand a whole nother movie with him [and i always thought faramir was way cuter]

Just when you think its about to end.... its gets way better. Joker is the best joker character yet to come and the relationship between alfred and bruce is excellent. If they keep making batman movies with this exceptional quality theyll be putting the bar to a new level

Great Batman movie!!! A bit long but overall it didn't feel that long. Everyone in the movie did a great job as well. Sad that it is Heath Ledger's last movie- but for his 'final act' it is beyond words to describe.

You will really get the satisfaction you want. I love Christian Bale and Heath Ledger. The movie also not just give the intense action and adventure but brings morals and values to learn. Great sound and visual effects! -I just have two comments for the downside of this movie: Batman's harsh voice... LOL! I think it is a bit corny, and sometimes hard to understand.- And I love the story until they make Harvey turned into this angry coin-lover villain... LOL! When the joker got captured already and Harvey survived. That should be it. But instead they make it longer and more convoluted.
Anyways, overall.... This firm deserves Oscars... I mean, Oscarsssssss! ;-)

This picture is one to see this year and it is not for the faint of heart. If anyone think that they have an idea of this movie going to be, the picture is going to blow your mind away. The performances are extremely well done and the direction of this picture as well.

While this was a fantastic movie, there was really only one thing that could take credit for it, the Joker. When he's not on-screen youre thinking about him and you want to see him the whole movie. But you dont, and youre subject to a movie that can be suprisingly boring and confusing at times. There seems to be lots of filler time given to characters that dont really even matter. This movie would actually have been better if theyd cut about 30 mins of unneeded scenes. Still a great movie though, if only because of the Joker.

This is easily the best movie I've seen this year, and the best comic book movie I have ever seen. The action is rapid and interesting, but it takes a back seat to the acting and character development (and I say that in a good way). I felt as though I just watched "Heat" but Batman was in it! The plot is twisting and surprising, and the deeper themes of heroism and sacrifice left me thinking about the movie for hours after I left the theater. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!

The Dark Knight is easy the best written, acted and visually spectacular Batman movie ever produced. Normally 150 minutes of movie has me checking my watch half a dozen times but The Dark Knight is so action packed I never even thought about it. I went to this movie on a whim and was completely blown away, I would recommend this to everyone even if they aren't a fan of the franchise.

This is a great movie. Lots of action and excitement but also terrific themes that hopefully get you to think about how you would handle situations in your own life. Hopefully people and especially teens think about the deeper concepts and don't see it for pure entertainment.

special effects were very good, left some things hanging. The movie was long, I think they tried to put too much in it, and it didnt seem to fit together in places. Heath Ledger 's preformance was great, he did a great job. What a waste. I appreciated the lack of blood and gore, and the fact that there really wasnt any offence language( that was refreshing) I'm glad i went to see it, but I dont think I'll go a second time.

With all due respect to the late Heath Ledger, his con brio interpretation of the Joker was on a par with Cesar Romero's: More amusing than menacing, despite the mayhem and multiple murders. Excellent work, but not Oscar worthy.
My vote instead would go to the underrated
Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent. Barely mentioned in the promos and dismissed with only a sentence or two in the reviews, Eckhart is superb in what amounts to three different roles: the "before" Harvey, the "after" Harvey, and [SPOILER ALERT!] the revenge-driven Two-Face.
Let's not let sentiment outweigh common sense. I felt the same way when NETWORK came out in 1976. Peter Finch had the showier part, but William Holden gave the better peformance: but Holden was alive and Finch was dead, so guess what happened?
The film was excellent entertainment but not an earth-shattering masterpiece. Chances are if Ledger was still alive other reviewers would feel the same and not let their hearts rule their heads.

The kids today are lucky. Thier movies blow ours away as far as effects, acting, story, writing and content. Movies like AvP were somewhat disappointing, but compared to the hokey stuff we used to endure? Even looking at the effects in the first Matrix movie and I realize they were not that sofisticated.
The Dark Knight is the culmination of that. Except for Christian Bale's choice to stick with the voice he gives Batman, it's perfect. Great story, one of the best supporting (lead?) performances I've seen in my life from Heath Ledger and awesome visuals. Defintely a must repeat see and Blu-Ray PURCHASE when it comes out. Go see it.
AMPAS take notice, this film is OSCAR WORTHY. Ignore the fact it is a comic book movie, Heath Ledger should get and Oscar and the writers should be at least nominated.

The cast did a superb job on this film, everyone's character portrails were spot on.
Aside from the curly floppy hair one wouldn't even know the actor behind the makeup of the joker, the character was that well played.
The action is intense, the bat-gadgets amazing , and the timing is fantastic.
I saw it openning day and again the next.
This one will definitly be in my DVD collection.
