This movie was amazing. Period. But it was completely different what I expected. I went in thinking about a 'bone-chilling' performance by Ledger and that's not what I got. It was freakin' amazing in many different ways but it was not what I expected. Just note, still a very very very awesome bit of acting by Ledger! All in all the movie was an absolutely perfect addition to the Batman legend, and is definitely a 'Go See! Now!' movie. Great acting, intricate plot that wasn't riddled with cliches, and just plain explosions, beating up bad guys, car chasing fun. A+

This movie will have you either sitting on the edge of your seat in suspense or curling up at the back of it cringing in anticipation.
"The Dark Knight" is by far the best super-hero movie I have ever seen. It was completely original, if such a thing can be said of a character and story line that has been told hundreds of times over.
Heath Ledger provides an inside look at insanity that will probably never be replicated. I would have loved to see him reprise this role and develope it even further, no one has ever captured the Joker better.
Plot twists come at the audience from every angle, and for once they are unexpected.
I would recommend this film to anyone who enjoys the cinema. Not because this is the best Batman flick ever, but because it is a great movie... possibly the best I have seen.

I went in not wanting to see it but left amazed. It was definatly the best movie of the summer. The only wierd thing was his death metal batman voice.

A few scenes were left open. FOr example, Batman leaves the Joker at his own party after he has to dive off the side of the building to save his ex-gf. Wouldn't the Joker have continued to terrorize his guests? The scene were Batman is charging the Joker with his motorcycle. The same motorcycle that runs through walls all of a sudden the Joker somehow knocks Batman off of it????? The movie was very good but not all of the i's were dotted and T's crossed. The first Batman Begins was better though out. Heath Leger was awesome as the Joker!

Amazing. Incredible. Outstanding. You will be sorry if you miss this movie. As a big fan of Nicholson's Joker, I was a little skeptical. In this movie, it's as if the comic book Joker has stepped off the page and into real life. The ability to pull off characters like Joker and Two Face without making them seem corny is a feat in and of itself, but to make them so compelling, and yes, frightening, makes this movie a masterpiece. Abandon any notions that this is a "comic book movie," I wouldn't be surprised if there were Oscar nods and wins for this movie. Easily the best movie this year, and possibly one of the best I've ever seen.

Great acting! I almost hate to say it, but Heath Ledger MAY have done a better job of playing the Joker than Jack Nicholson.. and that's saying something!!! I was surprised, even after seeing trailers. He scared me and made me laugh at the same time, and his maniacal laughter was AMAZING!!!
Remember kids... you can't spell slaughter without laughter!!!

I thought it was going to be better because of the hype but it was still a good movie. The music was so loud I felt like I needed subtitles at times. I don't know why they would play the music so loud during the dialogue.

I'm not a huge fan of action movies, and with all the hype around the movie I'll admit I was expecting the movie to be pretty good. And I found that it was a lot better than I had expected. I was very impressed with how well a good chunk of the story to the Batman series came together. The acting from everyone was amazing, but Heath Ledger definitely stole the show.

I've seen all of the Batman movies and The Dark Knight, hands down, is the best of them all.
The acting is good enough to make you forget that you're watching actors and the never ending action keeps your eyes glued to the screen and of the clock which is no easy task in a two and a half hour movie.
This is one not to miss!

What Nolan has done with his Bat-franchise is no less a feat than what Coppola accomplished with the Godfather films. Like those the first film is essential in approaching the follow-up but the sequel shines brighter than its sire. This film is unquestionably the pinnacle of the superhero genre. It reflects the greatest aspects of it's origins in comic books while rising to a level few films ever attain. it is poignant and deeply faceted, filled with brilliant performances and framed by a truly breathtaking director. I expected a lot when I took my seat. On top of the excitement I had felt since leaving the theater after Batman Begins was the anticipation of what will be remembered as Heath Ledger's defining performance. This film met my unrealistically high expectations and surpassed them. I can't wait to see it again.
