I thought it would be hard for them to make this worthy of the hype and to match the original. But I was blown away by the acting. Heath Ledger's portrayal of the joker was dead on. Even his facial expressions and movements fit perfectly with how someone with a scarred up slashed up face would be. Amazing overall, very creepy, dark acting. Well done! Very intense movie with a great plot.

Wasn't about the beauty and charm of big name actors. Ledger did an amazing job as Joker, always twisting things so that the audience and the characters were surprised by human nature. Bale was awesome as Batman and I'm soooo glad they switch Katie Holmes out for Maggie Gyllenhaal (much better acting). But I don't think Rachel's role was all that important except to serve as a symbol of false hope for Batman and the reason for the schism between two-face and batman. Even though it was long, I was never bored.....but I'm not exactly sure where the plot line will go from here. Obviously Batman will still be around but who will the villain be?

The Dark Knight is an action-packed movie. There's always a lot going on, so you need to pay attention. I thought It could have been a little shorter, but overall it was a good movie. And Heath Ledger is really good in the movie too. I thought people were making a big fuss about his performance because he past away, but he actually made a great joker. I expect a lot out of movies and I thought this was good.

The movie is everything and more. The acting and special effects were outstanding. Never a dull moment. This movie kept your interest and was very very exciting. Also, the background city "Chicago" which was great and it was nice to see the city get the spotlight it deserved. My home town.

One of the best movies of the year by far, and the best movie that I personally have seen all year. I went in with some of the highest expectations I've ever had for a movie, and they were exceeded by this movie. Phenomenal acting jobs all around, with special kudos to Heath Ledger, who portrays an absolutely perfect Joker in my opinion. The big surprise acting job of the movie for me came from Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent. Another absolutely amazing performance. I can not recommend this movie enough. If you haven't seen it, go out and do so, and if you have, go see it again!

my boyfriend (HUGE batman fan) and i both thought this was an EXCELLENT movie. i loved it, and he was beside himself at how good it was. really well done, pretty violent, not as hockey as the earlier version. heath ledger was unbelievable.

This movie was pretty dark, but amazing! Heath Ledger was perfect as the Joker! The film seems maybe a hair long...but the 2 1/2 hours goes by amazingly fast. I would recommend this movie to anyone. It is a must see for the summer, and is an awe inspiring sight on the big screen.

The Dark Night surpassed any expectations audiences have ever had regarding a Batman movie. While Christian Bale was a complicatedly cool and usually collected torn superhero, the Joker was the man of the hour. Heath Ledger's take on the villan we love to hate was inspiring, frightening, and mysteriously ironic all that the same time. The story is touching, the audience can expect to experience a roller coaster of emotions. Hate, disgust, love, regret, and satisfaction are all part of the ride. However, when the Joker (Ledger) tells Batman that sanity is like gravity, it only takes one little push to send you over the edge, I saw irony like never before.

Were Heath Ledger still alive, this movie would change his career forever. Just as "The Matrix" took Keanu Reeves from a character in "Speed" to "Neo", Heath BECOMES "The Joker". He's not just a psychopath here... yes, he's crazy, but for some reason, you can understand him and "sympathize". Strange, but I'll be seeing this one a few more times and buying the deluxe edition of the DVD.

I honestly believe this to be the best movie I've seen in my entire life. Every single actor in the movie plays their role with perfection, the writing is sheer brilliance with the story constantly making you think, for lack of a better way to explain it, "Wow!". I love Batman movies aside from batman forever and batman and robin. Christian Bale is definatly the best batman ever! The one thing that I take away from seeing it, I saw it by the way at midnight friday morning and again at the 9:15 p.m. friday showing was that I couldn't get enough of the joker. Heath Ledger totally stole the movie as far as I am concerned he was 100% born for this role and his performance in this movie was awsome, creepy, funny and haunting. He had a bunch of quick one word responses to things that were said to him and he delivered them with such honesty and insane mannerisms, i was just blown away. I didn't even know who heath was until he died so i would not consider myself a fan persay, but the role has made me appreciate his acting ability. This movie was a bit too long and maggie gyllanhals character was pointless but overall I loved it and I wish that the joker was in the movie way more than he was, i couldn't get enough of him and Heath Ledger did in fact steal the show !!!!

I wasn't sure if the film would live up to the hype that was being built around it but after watching it last night, I must say that it was simply phenomenal and exceeded all my expectations! Great acting, especially Heath Ledger as the Joker; it's going to be nearly impossible to ever top this Joker! Whether you're a Batman fan or not, you'll definitely enjoy and love this movie.
