The perfect middle film of what is shaping up to be an incredible Batman trilogy, "The Dark Knight" delivers on all it promised to be: action-packed with a psychotic villain and flawed and conflicted heroes. This is not a superhero movie (think "Fantastic 4"); this is a great drama. It entertains the heck out of you and at the same time has you mulling over questions of human character (good vs. evil in all of us). Fantastic and well worth seeing in the theater!

I would recommend this movie to everybody. I loved the flow of the movie. It was a roller coaster ride. I was on the edge of my seat just eager to see what would happen next. Heath Ledger (God rest his soul) played an awesome role as the Joker. The Joker character is sarcastic, not making you laugh on purpose funny! Awesome movie!! I wanna go watch it again.

The Dark Knight was amazing. I am often entertained, amused and pleased by a movie but very seldom impressed.
I would not have changed a thing in the movie. The acting writing and cinematography was expertly executed. The film is a good use of 150+ minutes of your time and $10+ dollars of your cash.

I loved this movie! I am glad they decided to remake these movies. Christian Bale is the ultimate Batman of the many that have donned the suit.
Heath Ledger did an amazing job portraying the Joker. I was in awe watching this film. From all the actors involved, the performances were outstanding.
I will be seeing this again and again, and buying the dvd when it comes out. But please go see this in the theater first. Don't wait!!!!
I will be waiting for the next installment with great anticipation!!!

Chris Nolan has finally given fans of the comic-book genre a movie that not only creatively does justice to the story and characters, but elevates the playing field for the rest of Hollywood’s quick formulaic productions and sets a new standard in the adaptation of graphic art. To say that Chris Nolan is solely responsible however, is to do severe disservice to the superb writing, casting, acting, cinematography, and virtually every element that went into making this a great movie. I have tried to think of one thing that did not meet with the "Excellent" overall rating that I have given this movie; I suppose the only dissatisfying aspect would have to be that the creative geniuses in and around the making of this movie were forced to protract the story and its life on screen to the standard 2 hr and 30 min (which is pushing the limit as it were...) attention span of the general audience.
The Spiderman movies also took themselves seriously, but with the consummate amount of humor to alleviate the audience’s tension with the hero’s plight in the face of insurmountable odds and forces of evil. Where the Spiderman movies failed and the Dark Knight succeeds is the line between fiction and fact can be made more readily with a character that is a man and as such cuts and bleeds like men. This gives the filmmakers an opportunity to tell a story that indeed relates more to our human condition than most of the other super-hero movies. Nolan does a superb job of taking this key to our acceptance of Batman's reality and tells a real human story filled with life's ironies, pains, and the compromise of conceived moral conviction.
For anyone who has seen the movie, it should go without saying that Heath Ledger's Joker adaptation strikes a venerable chord and undoubtedly will go down in history as one of the great performances in all of comic-book based films. A posthumous honor is deserved on his part, as he was quite obviously an actor who took his craft very seriously, perhaps too much so...

Yeah i wouldn't be surprised if this movie beats quadruples it's earnings all together in one week. This movie was perfectly put together and 5 thumbs up to an amazing performance by Heath Ledger. Definitely the most violent version of Batman ever depicted on film. The movie left me with uncertainty. I still am not sure if I liked it or not. On one hand the performance by Heath Ledger both haunted and amazed me. And yet I felt as though the Bruce Wayne I remembered from my youthful days of comic books was depicted in a completely different light- or should I say darkness. Was it filled with action? Yes, Was it filled with thoughts about terrorism and mayhem that made me think ? Yes. But at the same time I don't know if another Batman film could ever be made again. I think this movie pushed Batman and his companions to a place where there is no return.

First of all, I would like to say that I held very high expectations for this movie with all the hype (and also being the sequel to such a great movie). Saying that, there was not a point in this film that I could say that I was even close to being disappointed. From start to finish I was literally on the edge of my seat and, for the most part, the cast had a lot to do with thatt. Sure Chris Nolan's directing and screenplay were phenomenal and the plot was deep and captivating, but the actors are what really brought this movie home. Heath Ledger, with out a doubt, gave the best performance out of all the cast members and arguably the best performance I've seen in any movie in quite some time. This is not to say anything negative of the other characters - Christian Bale, as always, was immersed in his role and gave a strong performance. With the other main characters - Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman - the acting was seemless and engaging. That being said, it is still difficult for me to compare their acting with Ledger's performance. Ledger's real identity seemed to disappear in the role as if he really was the joker and the movie goer becomes unaware that they are watching an actor. I was left with my jaw dropped open, in awe, at some of the scenes because of the nuances and mannerisms that the Joker had. Every move and tone of voice seemed programmed and instinctive. The performance made all the others in the movie seem relatively 2 dimensional. Of course, I will reiterate that this is a relative comment and that to paint a more cosmopolitan picture in relation to the movie industry I would give the movie 4.8/5 stars and Heath Ledger 5/5. Bottom line: You HAVE to see this movie.
