Excellent, I can't wait until it is on DVD to buy. Story line was real made you think it was today not the future. I got so into the Joker character I forgot it was Heath Ledger (he played that part definitely deserves award). Don't want to give away ending but the make-up was great. Christian Bale is the best Batman, hope they keep him for the next.

This is a great movie and the late Heath Ledger, in my opinion, is due at least an Oscar nomination. Even with that said, as a parent, I feel obligated to start off with a warning. This movie is very, very intense, and may not be a movie for all kids. The Joker’s “magic trick” at the beginning of the movie is a prime example of this. I would suggest that any parent should see this movie first then judge if you should take the kids or not. With the warning aside, the movie is not just the fantastic tale of a comic book hero in a fantasy world. No, this is a movie that makes you feel that Gotham City is in the real world and that Batman is a real live superhero. This is brought on not by Christian Bale’s performance as Batman, though it is quite good. This realism is brought on by Heath Ledger as the Joker. This is not the campy Cesar Romero Joker from the television series Batman or even the somewhat campy Jack Nicholson Joker from Tim Burton’s Batman movie. The Heath Ledger Joker is the epitome of the darkness within us all. This Joker is a psychopathic, sociopath killer who truly revels in the violence, death, and chaos that he brings to Gotham City. Fortunately for us all our faith in good, right, and justice wins the day. This is a great movie, but for parents with kids, who want to see this movie, please heed my warning I stated at first. I know that my eleven year old daughter was trouble after the movie by the character of the Joker.

The whole group that is creating this new series of Batman movies is doing a fantastic job. Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman and Michael Kane have all established wonderful personalities for their characters and I hope they stay with the series for its entire run. Heath Ledger was, also, amazing and I wish he was still able to be with us to continue his career.

Well, i guess I was expecting more. It's another Batman movie, which in my friend's opinion meant, another great movie. I didn't think so. It entertains you, but I would not see it again. I can wait for the DVD.

Great acting job by Heath Ledger as the Joker. I didn't realize he had that kind of talent.
I think overall this was a good evolution of the Batman story. Lots of psychological dilemmas that required some thought and didn't have the audience just sit back and absorb the movie.

Heath Ledger had to deliberately deepen his voice and augment his intonation to fit the role, and I think he did a phenomenal job at portraying it. He brought a lot of the primal elements to the foreground and showed us a world where the human spirit is tried to its limits, and the importance of never giving up. The spirit may be willing, but the body is weak, and it’s believing in ideals that makes them possible. The shadows will fall behind us if we but look up to the sun and live in the light.
Besides it being an action packed, attention getter, thought provoking, special effects spectacle, subplots galore, thriller of a movie… it’s a good movie delving into the psychology of the human condition as well… and the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men (or women) to do nothing.

Okay I loved Batman Begins and figured that this movie would be a letdown. I was wrong BY FAR, this movie was every bit as good as the the first one and everyone I know agrees with me. I recommend that everyone sees this whether you are a batman fan or not.

The Dark Knight is a fantastic movie ... for adults. I think it should have been given an R rating ... it was dark, intense, violent ... Ledgers "Joker" is so psychologically twisted I'm afraid children will be frightened. He is not the comical joker portrayed by Nicholson previously, so don't go expecting to laugh. That all being said, as an adult, I was enthralled by the story, the performances and non-stop action. We get more Gary Oldman this time too and he was fantastic as always. Go and enjoy, but this reviewer suggests you leave anyone under 14 at home.

Great movie! All the character's were very believable, especially the Joker. Ledger definitely gave a stunning performance. Christian Bale really fits the "Dark Knight" persona. The movie itself had great plot twists and turns, and you never really feel that it was 2 hours and 38 min. long.

Best Movie of 2008/Comic-based movie of all time! This wasn't your typical "follow the storyline of DC Comics" no, on the contrary it was its own one-of-a-kind movie! Everyone was raving about this Batman movie after the showing! Everyone enjoyed the movie from those Batman fanatics to those that were there to show tribute to the late Heath Ledger. By far Heath Ledger steals the show as the Joker! He beats out the great Jack Nicholson. Ledger's sinister character with signature laugh shows how great an actor Ledger can be. "Why so serious?" I believe this movies is the "movie to beat!" I hope Ledger wins an Oscar for his portrayal as the Joker and the movie does well in awards. In closing, go watch it movie theatres are adding more shows to cope with the demand because showings are being sold out! Buy them online, pick the up and get in line to wait so you don't end up in bad seats!

It was a great movie. My boyfriend and I got to the theater late and had to sit in the very first row and it hurt our necks but it was worth it. It was a wonderful movie. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Although a little long running at 2 and half hours, this movie never stops. The beginning is a little slow but man oh man does the rest of the movie make up for it. The kind of movie where people actually cheer and get tense and excited. Maybe the most "big summer blockbuster" movie I've ever seen. Of course, Maggie Gyllenhaal (a bazillion steps up from Katie Holmes) and Heath Ledger wow, Christian Bale is sexy and fierce, and Aaron Eckhart and Gary Oldman give top notch performances. great movie. great cast. five stars.

there was so much hype around this movie about how amazing it was and so i was apprehensive but it really was that good, you don't even realize how long it is because you get sucked into so quickly. i would watch this over and over again and still be amazed. there is nothing bad to say about it.

The Dark Knight totaly exceeded the expectations set up by Batman Begins. The story line was very well written with great characters portrayed by great actors. Without a doubt Ledger''s best performance ever. Including Harvey Dent into the mix was also a very cool addition to the movie. The trio between Batman, Dent and Gordon made it that much more exciting to see Dent fall to the dark side with the Joker. I would reccomend this movie to everyone, and totaly go see it a second time because you will pick up on so many things that you missed before.
