This movie reminded me of the first Matrix. It points out that the difference between a hero and a villain is simply a choice. Batman chooses to do good. Joker chooses to blow stuff up. There is a lot of plot, action and memorable scenes throughout. Plus, the next villain is introduced (I think). I like the way Chris Nolan creates the Batman character. The older movies were fun and action-packed, but these new Batman movies are more philosophical (while still having good action scenes).

Engaging story, great action, twists, and surprises. Heath Ledger definitely adds a more disturbed character to the Joker role. The discussions of 'Oscar Possibility' for Ledger are not patronizing due to his death; he's earned a nomination, IMHO.
PG-13? I dn't have pre-teens yet, but I think younger kids would be quite scared by this movie. I saw many parents taking 7-to-10-year-olds into the theatre, but I for one wouldn't take my kids yet. No preaching here - do what you want - but just wanted to pass along my $0.02.

OK...so I realize 2008 is only a little more than half over, but I would find it difficult to imagine Hollywood putting out anything else to rival this movie. Dark Knight is definitely not in the vein of the superhero bandwagon movies released over the past year. There was actually thought that went into the writing of this script! It is a dark movie, examining the psychological fine line between good and evil, but when all is said and done, good prevails in a twisted sort of way. The acting was superb, especially Heath Ledger. There can never again be another Joker after his performance! The special effects were spectacular! The writing was impeccable! This movie is deserving of nothing less than 5 stars!

Couldn't wait to see this movie, and we were not disappointed! Christian Bale and actors were all superb once again, and the hype about Heath Ledger's performance was well-deserved. My sons and I were contemplating on the way home who the next "bad guys" will be. Keep 'em coming Mr. Nolan!

Christopher Nolan's realistic adaption of the Batman series have been nothing short of thrill ride. The Dark Knight has an all around triple A cast which results in an amazing motion picture. Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker was excellent. Christian Bale returned for the role of Batman and reminded us why he is the chosen one for the role. overall the movie was great and it's full of action.

The Dark Knight is amazing. It has such a great storyline and all of the actors in the movie do such a great job!!! This is by far one of the best movies I have seen in years. Heath Ledger should definitely get some type of recognition for his portrayl of the Joker. He did an incredible job that cannot go unnoticed.

I love movies with great characters....and this has it. Batman, Joker, Decker, they are 3 dimensional characters. The Heath-hype is not just hype.
I love movies that make me leave the theater still trying to understand what happened. No loose ends, but there is much more to this movie than just an action fantasy.

This movie was amazing! I am sure Heath Ledger is looking down from heaven and should be very proud at this amazing performance. Having not seen the other Batman movies, I was a little thrown by Batman's voice (very low and monitone) but the action was amazing (especially the semi part...won't ruin it for people that haven't seen it yet). Great job

I don't remember the last time I enjoyed a movie this much. It was exciting, action packed and funny. Heath ledgers performance was legendary. A character we will never forget. I went in with an open mind not to love the character because Heath was gone. He absolutely blew me away. He was creepy, evil and hilarious.
The story was awesome. Everyone was at their absolute best!

An Absolute must-see. If you see one movie this year, you'd better see The Dark Knight, or you'll be missing out on more than you wish to know. This movie goes above and beyond any expectations you could have for it or any other superhero movie. This is the evolution of the superhero genre. Finally, a filmmaker that brings us the true form of superhero philosophy! I still cannot believe it. Gritty , political, and psychologically convincing, this is as close to reality as it gets.
