Strip away all the explosions, incredible effects and awesome sets and you would still have an enthralling dramatic storyline. Now add in the fact that this is a comic-book based movie and it really shines. Outstanding performances by Heath Ledger and Christian Bale really thrust this movie to the top of the stack of superhero/comic-book movie experiences. This is one you cannot miss, and more than likely will want to see again.

Outstanding. I was leary of how well Ledger would pull of the Joker, but ... WOW!!!!! He was fantastic! I don't think I've seen a better Joker... (Sorry Jack) There were a lot good strong moral underpinnings that resonated with me: Hope for a better tomorrow; Self-sacrifice for the common good; the juxtaposition of Good and evil, how evil requires "The Good" to exist in order that it may exist; and the strength of the human character to do good. Well done.

If you are considering going to see this film, then go see it. If you have already seen it, then go see it again. This movie is fantastic. Heath Ledger plays a brilliant Joker in his final performance, and the rest of the cast delivers as well. I think that Aaron Eckhart has been somewhat overlooked in his role as Harvey Dent. He really captures his part every bit as well as Ledger does the Joker or Bale as The Dark Knight. As a huge comic book fan I loved it, but I also loved it as a movie watcher. My wife even said it was one of the best films that she has ever seen, and she is not into comic books, proving you do not have to be to love this film.

There have been so many Batman movies but this one is by far one of the best ones I have seen. Both Christian Bale and Heath Ledger bring their characters to life. The movie kept me on my toes the whole time and the action was very intense and well done. Health Ledger did an amazing job in playing the Jocker. It is sad to know that this was one of the last movies he acted in. Overall great movie.

Ok, I waited over three weeks to see this movie. And even though Sex and the City, Get Smart, Wanted and Hancock, all came out I was waiting for the Dark Knight. This movie was well worth the wait. I can't wait for part three. If you like good story lines mixed with awesome action sequences; this is the movie to see. So WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS? GO SEE IT ALREADY!

Great movie, BUT....even if they didn't show a lot of blood and gore, the killing was excessive and brutal. There were instances when someone could have been knocked out, but were shot point blank in the head instead. The Joker's description of watching someone die is not a physically violent scene, but definitely not appropriate for a thirteen or fourteen year-old. I teach middle school, so I'm a pretty good judge. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS THIS FILM APPROPRIATE FOR SMALL CHILDREN.

I found the Dark Knight to be the Empire Strikes Back of the DC comics movies. The good guys were just that, good guys, and the bad guys got more horrible than one can imagine. The movie hit it's stride very quickly with a pencil trick even Cris Angel would hesitate reproducing. The truly fascinating thing I found about this movie is that it succeeded as a blockbuster action movie, and also had many MANY references to lead you craving sequels.
The highlight of this film is of course Ledger, but I found myself with a slight case of antici-pointment. Except for the extreme closeups and masterfully delivered lines and a constant licking of the lips leads you to believe that his mouth injury as a child never healed, making me cringe with every shot, wondering if indeed the red around his mouth is makeup, or the continuing bleeding of his facial sores. I found him to be indeed a step beyond Jack Nicholsons Joker, but not as compelling as the pre opening hype had me to believe.
This was the first Batman that truly operated on a international base, possibly expanding to Batman saving cities world wide. (or not)
The ending was a rapid fire set up of the next sequel, often burying the action in story line in order to create the characters ready for the next film.
Is it the Best Movie ever made? No!
But it's easily top 3 for Action Films.

Heath Ledger, steals this movie. His version of the joker is very believeable and very disturbing at the same time. The action is top notch. Story is very good, not comic booky, and not predictable at all...many twists and turns.

Dark Knight is one of the best movies I've seen in a while. The fantastic action, sets, makeup, and such reminded me more of Casino Royale than any prior Batman movies, and all of these aspects of the film were just perfectly done. The high tech Bruce Wayne bat cave was particularly fun.
I could go on and on about how great this movie is for a while, but simply put, Heath Ledger & Christian Bale are both phenomenal, and this is a far more dark, twisted, and complete movie than prior Batman films.

I thought that it was great but, and a huge one at that- NO CHILDREN! I felt that this was for us Adults, because with the Joker being more scary than clown, as we all have seen before and two face having teeth bones ect, showing it would be far to scary for someone of a younger age to see this movie. The writers of The Dark knight did a wonderful job and its nice to see Batman come back similar to the michael keaton versions.

I really enjoyed "The Dark Knight." The movie had me on the edge of my seat. The action scenes were unpredictable and the dialog was funny. I clapped the end of the move. I plan to view "The Dark Knight" a second time at an IMAX Theatre.

I think the best part about this movie was the way Chicago was used. Fantastic scenes, great locations, and very recognizable and memorable sequences in the unfinished Trump Tower, leaving Navy Pier, the infamous lower Wacker Dr., and I think the top section of Hotel 71 was Bruce Wayne's cabode. Performances were good, not great, definitely over-buzzed because of Heath Ledger's unfortunate and untimely death -- not Oscarworthy, but definitely one of the better movies I've seen in awhile.

I expected a long, drawn out action movie that would eventually become boring, but the Dark Knight was so much more. From the opening scene to the last suspense-filled moment, this movie had me on the edge of my seat. HEATH LEDGER WAS INCREDIBLE!
