This film is a must see. Although it is a long film, it is dramatic and a action packed thriller. Heath ledger, as the infamous "joker" gives an oscar worthy preformance along with christian bale as the "dark knight" and the rest of the cast. I recommend this film to all and give it 5 out of .

This was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It was full of action, had a great story, and the acting is terrific. It was not as predictable as I thought it might be, which made for great watching. There were a couple of scenes that were a bit weak - like pull the trigger!! but hey its a movie - it would have killed the excitement of the situation. Some things have to be overlooked in the overall rating of the movie. I won't say what they are - you'll have to figure them out for your self. I wouldn't want to ruin the plot for anyone.
Go see it and enjoy this newer darker version of the Bat Man!

I saw this movie on it's opening day, and all I have to say is.. wow. The fight scenes are well-played and generally appropriate for the plot. The costume design and acting is more than applaudable, and the Joker? Not enough can be said.
If Heath Ledger doesn't win something for his role as the Joker, somebody will be hearing from me. In one scene, somewhat close to the beginning, our entire theater clapped.
Certain other villains are introduced, and the manner in which it happens is pretty straight to the DC plot. Graphics are good, twists are good, and you will jump out of your seat for a few surprise events.
The only complaint, and I wouldn't really call it that, is that the movie is dragged out a little. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy two and a half hours of batman, but the plot turns into two plots, and three plots, etc.
Definitely still a movie worth seeing again.

This movie grabs you from the beginning and keeps a hold of you throughout most of it. I will admit, the movie is a bit long winded and could have been cut shorter and could have left a great opening for another sequel. Other then the length, the movie was great, the cast was fantastic (especially Heath Ledger) and it was thoroughly entertaining

This is a great chapter in the annals of Batman lore.
Heath Ledger's performance is very reminiscent of Jack Nicholson's Joker in the original 1989 release of Batman. Also, add Brad Pitt's performance as a psychotic lunatic in 12 Monkeys and you have Ledger's Joker. Great, spooky and creepy! Kudos to Ledger's performance!!! Outstanding. He made the movie last.
Overall the movie went 30 minutes too long. Felt ready to leave at the 2 hr mark.

Great movie! I love the character development in this one, and the acting by all involved was much better than in the George Clooney days. Christian Bale doesn't really show his amazing talent but doesn't need to here - the movie is all about Heath Ledger and the Joker character. Bale looks the part and plays a rich, conflicted hero well. Excellent writing for this one - loved how it ended. Highly recommended.

If I had a complaint about "The Dark Knight", it would only be that I didn't want it to end. With a run time of 2 hours and 30 minutes, that might be surprising, but I honestly can't remember the last time I movie left me wide-eyed, jaw-dropped, and only able to utter the word "Wow" upon leaving the theater.
Christopher Nolan continues the masterful job he started with "Batman Begins", a movie that transcended the typical comic book movie. Nolan realizes that flashy costumes and effects may catch people's attentions, but deep insightful characters are the key to investing yourself into the movie.
This trend continues in "The Dark Knight", where we find Bruce Wayne continuing his one-man fight on crime in Gotham, but with help on the horizon. An aggressive, fearless D.A. named Harvey Dent has arrived in Gotham to challenge the corruption, crime, and for the first time in a long time, offers hope in Gotham. Bruce Wayne begins to feel for the first time that this might be his chance to finally step down as the Batman, and let Dent continue to fight the good fight under his own (and legal) terms.
Bursting on the scene is Heath Ledger's Joker, a maniacal homicidal madman who thus far had been making his living by ripping off the crime bosses. His embodiment of insanity and chaos is thrust into this optimistic new Gotham to disrupt the status quo and basically destroy this new hope that had been so long coming.
The Joker's motives or backstory are never really explained or showcased, and the character is all the more frightening for it. A lot has been made of Ledger's performance, and all of it is wel-deserved. His Joker is unsettling and unpredictable, and his every word just hisses with menace and insanity. He's the perfect foil to Christian Bale's Batman, a creature driven by justice and order.
There are other subplots running throughout, but the strength of the movie is in its relationships between the characters. Batman and Jim Gordon, Bruce Wayne and Lucius Fox, and a highly-entertaining love triangle involving Dent, Wayne, and his longtime love, Rachel. The way these relationships grow and sometimes, fracture, provides the emotional wallop that makes all the frenzied action and stunts seem almost like inconveniences (when, in fact, the action sequences are some of the more original you'll see in the theaters this year).
I have no idea if Nolan is signed on to continue the Batman franchise, but I certainly hope so. With the strength of "Iron Man" and now "The Dark Knight", it appears the comic book movie is ready to take its place amongst the big boys.

If you've been waiting for the blockbuster of the year then here it is. Batman The Dark Knight is arguably the best movie of the year and it looks as if nothing is going to be able to surpass it. The Acting is supurb by everyone in the movie, but Heath Ledger steels the show as the Joker. Heath creates the creepiest and most monsterious villian I've ever watched. His performence is oscar worthy. Ledgers death is really a tragidy for what an amazing actor and person he was, but his last acting performance is one to remember. Another great performence is Aaron Eckhart as Harvy Dent. Aaron acts supurbly as well and even when the heroic lawyer of Gothem turns into the murdering villian of TTwo-Face, the audience feels sorry for him because of what he did and was trying to do to bring justice to Gothem. His performance was a home run. Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Gary Oldman all continue to act out their Batman roles amazingly and they along with the rest of the cast have great chemistry. The story is also supurb as it really captures he audience and leaves them always wanting to know what happens next. Even though the movies is 2 and 1/2 hours long, which to some may seem too long, it does not feel like it as the Dark Knight keeps the viewer entertained from start to finish. It is one of the best and most entertaining movies I have ever watched.I really hope Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale will come back they continue the seires with a third Batman. The Dark Knight is a 10 out of 10, 2 thumbs up, 4 stars, whatever in my book and I hope everyone will get a chance to see it. Even if you hate movies, you'll love The Dark Knight.

TDK is one of the best comic book movies of all times. WB completely out-did themselves. The movie has an awesome story line with a good amount of action. The Dark Knight, the latest Batman sequel, is an amazing movie. If you are a Mom to a superhero-salivating kid, and you suffer through countless Super Hero movies, you will not be disappointed by the Dark Knight.
The animation, alone, is worth the view. The flipping of an 18 wheeler is nothing short of a miracle. The coloration of the movie, as well, is simply gorgeous. The use of blue and silver and light and dark adds to the mood. If all of those yummies aren't good enough, the characters, themselves, are simply amazing. Heath Ledger performed his final role with absolute polish. His laugh and evil demeanor bring a whole new depth to the Joker character. It isn't possible for the silly jokers of cinema-past to compete. Morgan Freeman and Alfred are, as always, incredibly dignified. Two face is incredible, as well, in his fall from grace. And, finally, Christian Bale is a fantastic Batman/Bruce. He is more than just eye-candy, his character is soulful and wise.
The Dark Knight proves that sequels don't have to suck. In fact, you can watch and love this one even if you have never seen Batman Begins.

A lot of everything for everyone. Exciting, spellbinding, and you never notice that it is two and a half hours long! Heath Ledger is phenomenal - a shoo-in for at least an Academy Award nomination. At a couple of points, you wonder, "Should he have drawn a line here?" But then in the next instant, you know why the line was not drawn. This is a great movie, which keeps the door open for future episode.
