If there wasn't a guy running around in a bat suit this wouldn't be a comic book movie. The story was gripping, the acting was superb on all accounts. I expect it to get a nomination for best movie at the Oscars. Seriously. A great crime saga.

This movie definitely lived up to the hype. The whole audience was into the movie; clapping and hollering when something big happened. The special effects and stunts were amazing! It was for sure, one of Heath Ledger's best movies.

It is the best of the Batman movies I've seen. Heath Ledger's Joker was fantastic. It is a shame he will not be able to reprise the role. I can't imagine who will be able to fill his shoes in a sequel.

I don't want you to misunderstand my review title because I don't throw a statement like that around flippantly nor do I use that phrase without reason, this simply is the best movie of 2008. Period!
The film took me to Gotham City and I never thought twice if it was real. The story, the characters, the direction, the Bat, all of it was as true to anything I have ever seen before. This movie redefines what a comic book movie should look like; gritty, raw, violent, dark...
People will remember this movie not because of the hype, not because of the Bat, not even because of Heath Ledger's passing, it will be because of the JOKER! This is the Joker is that I've been waiting to see for 10 years! Heath Ledger stole the movie from everyone, he literally MADE the movie for me. I was going to like this movie regardless of anything, I was already set to enjoy it, even if it sucked, I would still have enjoyed it...but Heath Ledger's performance as Joker was the absolute highlight to this entire movie. In my opinion, there hasn't been a better comic book villain portrayed on film compared to this movie's The Joker.
Face it, this movie lived up to its hype! With all of the viral marketing, the fake web sites, the trailers, the buzz, etc., it still delivered a solid and amazing film. You will regret the summer of 2008 if you do not see this film!
Period.

I have 7 year old boys who wanted to see this, but after seeing it my self, I feel that this movie is too intense and a little disturbing for younger children. I loved it and so did my husband. I think it is a must see for teens and adults. The acting was outstanding! Just too dark for the younger crowd.

If not for a few too many things going on towards the end of the movie, this would be a five star gem. Heath Ledger gives one of the all-time great performances as the joker, the art direction is superb, and Christian Bale is the best Batman yet. What an experience.

I think that the new style of the the Batman movie is excellent. The Joker was fantastic and so was Two Face/Harvey Dent. That was a welcomed surprise to see him in this movie. I thought that the action scenes were great and that the plot was awesome. I do wish that all comic book movies followed in the footsteps of WB cause they finally got it right.

As all the reviews stated, Heath Ledger was exceptional in his role as the Joker. Christain Bale was also good in his reprise of his role though it's hard to emote much behind the mask. We saw this with an enthusisatic 14-year-old who clapped at the end, and while we enjoyed the movie, we both felt that the 2 hour and 45 minute playing time was excessive...there was a lot of fluff in the movie that could have been trimmed. Still, it was an entertaining way to spend a hot, humid summer night in Jersey.

Dark Knight was absoultely wonderful! I was floored by the acting, action scenes and the graphics. It may be 2 1/2 hours, but it keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through!!

From the opening scene, the Dark Knight kidnaps your attention and doesn't let it go for the next two and a half hours. My pokey friends and I arrived a mere half hour early for the movie and had to sit on the second row of the theater (where you have to lean back and look up to see the whole screen) and I didn't even realize that I'd been in that uncomfortable position (or taken a breath for that matter) until the credits rolled. The movie was that good. Every actor gives the performance of a career, especially Heath Ledger. Not to mention that Maggie Gyllenhall is a refreshing replacement for Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes and Aaron Eckhart plays Harvey Dean with a charisma and ease that is a pleasure to watch. While the movie is amazing and beautifully acted and directed, its certianly not a feel-good experience. Don't go in to it expecting to have your faith in good morals and justice restored. This version of Batman is dark and brooding and the whole movie has a melanacholy, almost helpless feel to it. Batman still stands for all that is good and hopeful, but the movie is set in one of Gotham's most depressing time periods and everyone is affected by the pandemonium of evil. No one actor steals the show (as was predicted for Heath Ledger's final role as the Joker), but its the harmony in which all of the players work together that makes this movie such a blockbuster. Its got action (loads of it), humor, love, personal emotional journeys and an overall plot that is smart, interesting and imaginable. I would highly reccommend this movie to any adult (I think its a little too intense for kids).

I have been a Batman fan FOREVER!! I loved the original comic books, the newer comic books, even the campy 60's TV show. This Batman movie is THE Batman Movie. I liked Heath's Joker of course, But I also liked the way Two-Face came onto the scene. I like the way it ended because you know there is another one coming. (I just wish we didn't have to wait for years to see it!) I have always been a bit unsure about Christian Bale as Batman, but he did alright and I think I liked him more as Batman this time than in the first one. I think Gary Oldman is an excellent Commisioner Gordon. I am just happy to have Batman back as the Graphic Novel he was meant to be. (Please don't let George Clooney near this series!!!!)

The movie was really well done. This series of batman is my favorite because it is most realistic. The actor that most impressed me during this one was Heath Ledger. His performance was so convincing you felt sorry for his character and sadly, reminds one of the passing of Ledger. Christian, as always, played what could be a comicly dressed hero so well, one sees how it could be realistic, except for a few obviously outlandish turn-arounds on the motorcycle.
