Movie was good, not great.
Ledger was amazing!!!
He would have been recognized for his performance whether he died or not.
The movie, however, benefited greatly from his death.

This version of the Batman story was very well done and should satisfy readers of the comic books. The film drew a on Frank Miller's Batman portayals as well as other canonical sources.
Heath Ledger steals the film and would have done so without the hype surrounding his death. This version of the Joker is stunning and scary.
The only real drawbacks to the film were Bale's "Batman voice" (too deep and raspy), and the the constant references to Maggie Gylinhal's intense beauty.

The Knight grows darker in response to Evil's manic push to the very edge. Although there is no direct view of the most intensely violent acts in this movie, the viewer feels every bit of the menace that is there in those acts.
Evil can create nothing - only twist and degrade good. The Joker embodies the complete degradation of good in a human. The Batman responds by super-heroically absorbing The Joke's evil, deflecting it from Gotham.
This is a breathtaking movie, not great "fun" to watch, but as useful as the best sermon about Good and Evil for instructing us.

Best Acting ever in a superhero movie. The storyline carried you through Batman's struggle with his identity and where he fits in society. More believable storyline and action sequences. Never a dull moment. Anticipation to see a sequal with Bale, the best Batmen yet, should prove to have even higher ticket sales each time. Stay safe Bale, we have lost too many go superhero actors.

There has been a lot of hype about the new Batman movie, especially with Heath Ledgers tragic death and brilliant final performance. So i wasn't sure if the movie would live up to my expectations....but it did. It was a great ride, very exciting. It was worth paying the $10 to see it in the theater.

I guess I am the only person in the country who hated this movie, but I found it to be very depressing and way too long. It was more about blowing things up than anything else. Yes, I will admit Heath Ledger was very good and so was Christian Bales along with the entire supporting cast. But I kept wishing the movie would please end before one more person got killed or maimed. Not fun!

Awesome movie, it just doesn't get any better than this. The effects were fantastic as was the story and characters !! . Even though its two and half hours long you are still left wanting more as the movie just captures your attention and seems to fly by!

Even though it is a long movie, it keeps you interested throughout. Definitely no slow sections in this movie! Heath Ledger does an incredible job as the joker! Christian Bale is an excellent Batman! Hope he continues and does more movies as the character.

This was a very well done movie.
From the action sequences to the acting, (particularly the acting of the late Heath Ledger), the story, the special effects, and the analysis of good versus evil and that it is not always black and white, this was an excellent movie. I also am very pleased that with the ending of the movie, we are led to believe that more of THIS kind of Batman movies are on the way. Kudos to all the people involved in making this movie. They deserve all the accolades and the money that come with a successful film and this movie could be the most successful film ever. Time will tell.
I would love to see this movie again and that is very unusual for me. I also look forward to the next movie in this series. If you haven't seen this movie, go see it! You will be glad you did.

One amazing movie, I would recommend that anyone who like batman as a child will love it, go see it. Heath Ledger (may he rest in peace), is one of the best villains and will go down in my book as such. I feel sorry for the next actor to fill those shoes. This movie meet and blew away any of my expectations. GO SEE IT if you haven't yet.

The movie does live up to its name in that it is truly dark. Helath Ledger is truly convincing as a madman - consistent in his potrayal as the Joker. Saddening to think that, despite what others may avow, this work contributed to his loss of life.
Christian Bale did not connect with the screen or the role and was detachingly boring.
Still it was entertaining for adults - way to heavy handedly blase about the violence for children

I went to see the movie not because of Heath Ledger but because I love Batman. However, I felt that the Joker was played extremely well. I could not tell that he was Heath Ledger and at times, Joker was terrifying. Definitely Oscar worthy- not because of his death, but because of his terrifying and psychotic performance.
Best part of movie... "wanna see a magic trick?" just pay attention to what happens next.
Christian Bale is an excellent batman, dark and perfect for the role.
I hope they continue to create these movies, even though it was the last performance of the best Joker.
There is nothing at the end of the credits however, I was hoping for a cliffhanger for the next movie.
I highly recommend it to any Batman fan.

If you’re the type of person who only goes to the movies once in awhile or only like to see certain movies in the theater then this is your movie!! I loved this one as much as the first in this new series of a darker more adult version of BATMAN! It kept my attention from start to end. The Joker was awesome!Heath Ledger did his thing he played the dark joker for everything he is funny, disturbed and very evil. It’s a two and half hour movie and worth every minute sitting in the theater. My boyfriend and the audience I saw it with on Sunday afternoon agreed as they clapped their way out of the theater. It left me saying I just can’t wait for the next one. I just hope they keep up the good work and don’t let us down.

Movie was great! I was glad to see Mr. Nolan's interpretation of the Batman franchise. My only issue is the length of time in which it played. I felt that there was one instance that the film was dragging just a little bit. I would have given about 4.5 stars, but the system is cut and dry.
